The problem isn't that our expectations are high, it's that we want to see SOMETHING. These off panels are really starting to get annoying. I didn't like the fact that Franky got beat, but whatever I got over it. Can we AT LEAST see him fighting them for more than a few panels tho? I wanted to see his ass getting beat. What new gadgets/ weapons did he create? Or any new techniques? How about Dofla's crew? The little we've seen is not enough imo. Is it really so wrong to want to see the Strawhat Crew
doing something meaningful?
What in the flying fuck are Sanji and co. doing? At this point I would take anything. Are they taking a shit? Great, show me that lol. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember any other arc having this many off panels. They are ruining what is a great arc for me. Seriously, it would be incredibly disappointing if:
1. Zoro is done fighting the next time we see him
2. Sanji and co. are unconscious the next time we see them
3. Sabo is suddenly declared the winner all of a sudden without us seeing what happened (yes we finally saw them a bit this chapter but it was brief)
And now with EVERYONE turning back to their normal selves, we are going to see the Strawhats LESS! Is Robin going to do anything? Nope everyone there is going to be all over Trebol. Heck, her turning into a toy was done OFF PANEL! I have been waiting since SKYPEIA for her to get a fight! It's been YEARS since we saw them getting their hands dirty. And no I'm not counting Fishman Island lol. I'm reading this manga because of the Strawhat Pirates, not just for the monster trio.
Oda is not going to go back to show all of these off panels. Some might be shown on the anime, but I've stopped watching that. That's why people are saying Oda is rushing this arc. There are like a thousand things going on off panel that we haven't seen. I just want the strawhats to do something instead of all these new characters.
As much as I hate picking on One Piece since it's my favorite series, I have to criticize where criticism is due on Oda's part. I have to agree with you as well with most of what you said. SO much has been offscreened this arc. All of the big fights were rushed and even the Straw Hat fights are being skipped, which is pretty irking.
Personally, between Oda's health problems as of late and the fact that he's trying to do so much in one arc to start off the New World, I think that may be affecting this otherwise amazing arc to a small degree. However, I still have faith in Oda and I strongly believe the end of the arc will be worth it.

@DEE:
Dellinger was also fighting against Franky http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/742/18
You can have a look! ;) 3 Executives + Too many pirates against Franky. It quite logic.. Even a lion loses to a bunch of wolves.
Thanks for pointing that out! I actually missed the fact that Dilinger was there, so it's at least starting to look a tad more credible to me. Only a tad, though, because I feel we should have seen a bit more of his fight. I suppose that Vice Admiral may have had a role in his beatdown as well.
