@Ashura_KingFisher:
anyway, I want to add a bit more theory, about the AK.
The AK, did they really extinct from history?
In Robin’s flashback

Clover was about to reveal the kingdom’s name when he was shot by Spandine.
you know, It always seems a bit odd to me that gorosei felt threaten by revelation of the name alone. But it could means one thing : the kingdom is actually still exist until now. Gorosei are awared that people could recognize the name. Or even us readers could recognize it for that matter.
if the later was true, it means the kingdom name was mentioned somewhere before the W7 arc… let’s see, we have Arabasta, Drum, Shandora, and probably Raftel (it could be a kingdom’s name)
Beetwen the four, which one of them could be the AK? Apparently, a few facts about Shandoroa match the description of AK the most.
- Shandora was collapsed 800 years ago after a big war with certain enemy (the AK was collapsed at that time as well)
- Judging by the ancient picture of Bilca on the moon, the origin of Shandora, they apparently had an advanced-civilization with all that futuristic stuff (just like how Clover pictured the AK)
- Shandora was once a prosperous kingdom 1000 years ago (the fact was written on one of the ancient texts in skypiea, I forgot what chapter though)
In additon, out of all poneglyph that Robin has found so far, only the shandorian poneglyph has Roger’s note on it. Despite its place which was so out of reach compared to other poneglyphs, Roger decided to leave his massage there. It must be special right?
What I’m trying to say is, the AK could be none other than Shandora kingdom.
okay, this one is a bit farfetched but you can at least see the connection there. need more clue on this one…
I've thought this for years now. One other note in Shandora's favor? Joyoboyo can also be translated as Jayabaya!
@Kirk:
The same can be said for the fishmen, they don't know anything about the promised day and the purpose of Noah. Cobra just know about Pluton's name but he does not know the meaning of it and for sure he does not know what is it all about, why is this poneglyph even here.
It is said that the WG eradicated this Kingdom, and they made sure to erase a whole century of history, yet they would let these people just like nothing happened even if they don't know anything about it? If Nordland and his king met these people in Jaya, it could have lead to an important trading between this kingdom from North Blue and the Shandians.
Do you realize how it does not make any sense with the WG's behaviour regarding the void century and the Ancient Kingdom?
What you said in bold would make sense if the people of Shandora were friends or "allies" with the Ancient Kingdom, just like the fishmen, probably the giants and others people (Erbaf surely contains a poneglyph). The fact that Shandora possess a poneglyph just like Fishman Island and many other places, I think that all of these people were friends with the Ancient Kingdom. If Shandora was this kingdom, it would make sense for the Rio poneglyph to be there, but it's not.
It's possible that the Ancient Kingdom elected their leader from various places, and Joy Boy, the last King, was from Jaya. However, Jaya wasn't the capital of the Ancient Kingdom.
@Monkey:
The three godly beings in question are three different aspects. Poseidon ruled the sea, Pluto (Hades) ruled the underworld and was in charge of death, and Uranus was the sky himself.
So Uranus is probably sky or space based, rather than just randomly being Dragon, unless Dragon controls the skies or something (like Shirahoshi controls the Sea Kings).
Urogue is Uranus.
@Kirk:
The Gorosei coming from the void century is actually one of the most popular theory among the fandom as well as the use of Bonney's fruit. And it will probably happen, with the use of some logic you can conclude it's the only way possible:
They keep the truth, they are what you can tell, the guardians of the truth. They destroyed an entire island to protect it, an island full of people and most of them didn't even know about the poneglyphs, that's pretty harsh.
So, what happens when one of them die? They look pretty damn old, what if 3 of them die of illness in the same year? They should be replaced. But they CANNOT be replaced since they are the guardians of truth, replacing them would mean to tell it to someone else and that goes against their duty. One could tell that an admiral would fit the job. But the youngest one (should be 40) wasn't an admiral 25 years ago and he wasn't fleet admiral either. Kong isn't part of the Gorosei so none of the admirals can replace one of the five elders.
Who else? A citizen? Impossible. A king? Then again that would mean risking to tell it to someone else. This guy could pretty much disagree and spread it. They destroyed an entire island full of people yet they would tell the truth to someone else? The last possibility would be a world noble. But we have seen these people, they probably don't know a thing about the void century and they are too stupid to keep the truth, on top of that they probably don't care at all. The 5 elders are way different from the world nobles.
I can't think of any possibilities. Not to mention that changing the Gorosei every 50 years would definitely change the original truth (pretty much like the chinese whispers game, ya know?). It has been kept since 800 years, so the guardians are the same since 800 years. They cannot die (Bonney's DF?) and it is their duty to keep the truth as long as they can. And the scars could be a hint about this (did they fight during the ancient war?). As for who they really are, they could be chosen citizens from the void century, soldiers, kings, D's and so on…There, that was my two cents about this.
Maybe there used to be 20, and now after 800 years or so, there are only 5 left.
