Its the best color content Kubo has produced in years, that is true. Its a damn sight better than his "color page" at least. I bet Shueisha considers it a bargain in terms of ink.
Naruto and Bleach IV- Sexy time

@The:
Wow, has it really only been a day in Bleach-time? Kubos pacing is so bad that it messes up his perception of the passage of time in the story. I mean, what the hell is the point of having 3 seperate Quinzi break ins in such a rapid sequence?
Did anyone else do a double take at the Quincy Logic that shinigami HQ was the least secured area, and the best one for them to hide in?
Because shinigami spend so much time doing their jobs in the human world or routing Hueco Mondo they're hardly ever in Seireitei, yup yup
And according to Ywhach, after their loss the Quinzies apparantly traveled to soul society -before learning the whole alternate dimensions in shadows trick.
Which begs the question of HOW THE HELL DOES THE SHINIGAMI NOT NOTICE THEMAgain: Kubologic.
But wow, didn't notice the last part…..

So will Bach now off himself for acting like a prophet I wonder ? :ninja:
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also it's been thirty chapters since Bach fucked off.
Boy we have learned so much about his character since ! Like....that he apparently likes peace, even though he dismembers his own men and sucks his own people's souls to gain strength, and he also chose Uryuu as his heir for.....reasons......
-
I love how Kishimoto has transformed Sasuke into a badass Uchiha survivor, back to Naruto's bitch emo kid in 2 chapters.
Reminds me how he turned the 9 tails into Kurama-kun in like 3. -
Again: Kubologic.
But wow, didn't notice the last part…..
Actually, I may have been too hasty on that…Foppish Quinzi claims it was a deliberate plan.
I can't quite pinpoint whether the other Quinzis are 1000 years old or its just Ywhach
-
Aarrgh, why do I ALWAYS miss out on these kinds of talk!!!
Anyway, now we know what Kubo has been doing for the past couple of weeks, he was busy coloring.
And just commenting on something from 4 pages back. Every manga's priority (and yes. I do mean EVERY manga/novel/comic/what-have-you) is the story! And with it comes storytelling, plot progression, character development, world building, etc etc etc. And that is exactly what makes Bleach & Naruto bad!
They each have a story, and both actually have interesting premise, but they severely lack in other departments. I can go on and on about how and what they are lacking, but I'm sure everyone here is tired of reading those (plus, a lot of people here already have done a good job elaborating them). In short, a lot of the bashing done here isn't done out of hate or subjectivity, it's more out of disappointment and objective analysis (well, probably not so much for the latter).
-
@The:

Well, one of the chapters where Bach introduced evil!Uryu says the latter is a true Quincy, or something…...implying maybe the others are just extensions of Bach himself? I mean, many things point to him being a God-like figure in the Quincy world, so who knows.
-
Hm, but I mean like this- I don't have to post a proof about my identity to prove that I'm a real person. I don't know anyone either, so why don't I take anyone as "random nobody poster"?! Just weird to read a post like that for me.
Sorry pRopaaNS for the time being I can't take anything you say seriously on the account of you dismissing Bartolomeos latest character development because you think it's gay.

@Cyan:
Random nobody poster defends Bleach
Where are the random nobody posters who defend Naruto???? WHO CRIES FOR NARUTO?????
If I remember correctly, they were threadbanned.

Now even the supposedly "dark" side of the kyuubi is just a misunderstood puppy. And as everyone predicted Naruto jst keeps fusing more and more states until it has become only one.
And even now when there would be the perfect time for Naruto to outshine his dad Kishi still has to make him get the same abilities in a second. Is nobody correcting him on this story? Why does Shonen Jump have editors if not for exactly this? -
Who's in the mood for a good laugh?
@Oronagato:
yep, spoken like a true op fan. luffy is a million times the goku rip off naruto can ever dream to be. naruto axtually has a personality. luffy is only "eat eat eat", only it was cute and adorable for goku when he did it. in fact just from the first chapters of dragon ball i saw how big of a rip off luffy is of goku

Apparently what I just learned is that everyone is a rip off of Goku

Son Wukong is a total goku ripoff.

From the same thread as above:you're right, OP is ok, but waaaaaaay to overrated, it is definitely funny, but a bit to childish, hasn't a great story line nor a good psychological development
-
"One thing I don't like is the villains. None of them give me any sort of fear factor unlike Pain and Orochimaru, and Aizen and Juhabach from Bleach. They constantly monologue and just seem like any cliche villain and the art is just off putting."
I lol'd
-
the funny thing from that forum is: every 7 or so users bashing about one piece, there are 2 or 3 users defending OP
-
Nardo and Bleh IV: I take it back; I don't miss Bleach anymore
-
Well…Bleach has returned. And it was a bit underwhelming. I expect authors that announce they are taking breaks to get ready to rev up the series for the final fight to put out chapters that really amaze me at the start to remind me why I care they are going through the effort. The reveal of the Quincies hiding in the shadow realm was pretty funny. But everything else was fairly pointless. That said I'm at least glad it's back because at this point I find it to be more entertaining that Naruto.
-

ahaha I must have missed that.

Oh the 16 characters of irony.
-
shit, I ain't even mad. Mayuri showed up dressed for Festivale, and that's wonderful.
-
Bach, apart from killing is own men for soing their job, and endangering all existence for unexplained reasons, has done fuck all in the more then thirty chapters since the invasion ended.
How is that superior characterisation to every single villain in OP ? Or is that guy/person simply bored of reading all the "monologues" explaining their desires, personality and state of mind and simply wants them to start fighting people at the drop of a hat and be gone for half the arc they're supposed to be the villain of to "increase mystery" ?

Don't you know that Baby's Got Bach's heart started beating again after 9 centuries, his intelligence returned after 9 decades, and he will be an interesting character for 9 seconds
-
Blah is back! Was about time! Joy~
-
When is Uryu's actual dad gonna come and tell him he's an idiot
-
Does Kubo need to do a redesign for Mayuri for every arc?
Neither chapter didn't do much for me. I will say Bleach was better this week mostly because it didn't have awkward out of place humor.
-
Bleach is back?
Wake me up when it's over.
Naruto was… as whut at ever. So now Naturo gets PLUS SIGN EYEBALLS
-
Good old Bleach is back. Neat, I was missing these 'revelations'. Can't wait for fights with loads of turnabouts and secret resistances. And of course eyeshots. Gotta step it up before the ending, Kubo. But I've got to say, this colour page is impressive. Reminds me of back then, when Kubo tried with colour pages and made interesting spreads with character collages. Though step by step characters stopped appearing, and later colours too.
I haven't read Nardo since toad vomited on… what's his name again? I only remember Tobi. So, is it worth checking out for all the bad things? Or is it gravely boring mish-mash of washed out lines?
-
It kinda bothers and has always irked me a but that in Naruto peoples pupils change shape. Do they get really wonky vision for doing so?
-
it definetly can't be healthy.

actually,i don't remember that huge number of monologues from OP villains
-

That's why I put monologues in quotation marks, since they appear to label every bit of information and character as "monologuing".

Lol Mayuri and his outrageous outfits. Actually his vice captain's outfit is rather outrageous too.

Okay, looking at that topic at Narutobase there seems to be quite a concensus that Naruto and Bleach are superior to One Piece story- and character-wise. So I came to the conclusion that this has to come from some kind of parallel universe where these mangas are actually some epic masterpieces. So my question, how can I enter this parallel universe because I want to read them as well?

Pour Kubo's ink on the floor in a pentagram style. This will open up the portal to this parallel universe that you seek. But first, you must understand that doing this will white out everything you know as you lay out the pentagram. It'll gradually white out the walls, your hamster (unless it was already a winter white dwarf hamster), your family. They might be gone forever if you choose to go to this magical place.

Pathetically low compared to the Japanese sales.

how much is it for a single volume and a yearly sales?
i always trying to find them but most of the numbers were varied.. -

Probably higher compared to quite a few other series, though.

i always trying to find them but most of the numbers were varied..Less than 50,000 IIRC copies. But you should ask Aohige, he probably knows.
Probably higher compared to quite a few other series, though.
Well, the US is the biggest manga industry outside of Japan and France (the 2nd biggest), so… yeah.
-
@Purple:

I really doubt that, because from what i remember, it's hard to have a decent result from manga sales in America. And there's an attempt to persuade Japan (publisher) to allow them make manga digitally.
I found this link (don't know if it has credibility) that says America + Europe + Middle East's manga sales combined didn't touch 5% from Japan sales..
-
Someone at mangahelpers mentioned that a US preview for Bleach's vol 58 or 59 claimed a total circulation of 2 million. Assuming that's true, that puts a ceiling on sales of ~34-35k per volume.
-

No, yeah, I believe it. I'm just speaking comparatively to other series.

So this guy attempted to "justify" the problems with Naruto Part 2
I watched the whole video, and it seems most of the time he either misrepresented the criticism that Naruto gets, or he didnt even do a good job at it. Specially at the Sasuke part. -
Everyone who is interested about the American Manga and Comic market should read this article:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=43773
He posts Bookscan reports and analyzes them. For those who do not know, Bookscan is the same as oricon and like oricon it does not represent ALL sales. It is estimated that it represents something around 70% of all sales. It is enough to get a picture about the scale of Manga in America.
The sales of Naruto (and most other Manga) have fallen quite a lot in recent years. 2010 Naruto sold in America 60 000 + copies per Volume. In 2012 it had problems selling 20 000+ copies. -

In 2012 it had problems selling 20 000+ copies.Wow, Naruto in France it sold a lot better! At least(Volumes in Top 50) 227 300 copies in 2012, ten times more. The data is in this article: [http://www.du9.org/dossier/meilleures-ventes-2012/
(](http://www.du9.org/dossier/meilleures-ventes-2012/)Note: One Piece sold 594 200 copies in France, more 366 900 copies than Naruto. This make One Piece the best selling manga in the best manga market of Europe).
–- Edit ---
Noticed that you're talking of copies per volume, it was strange the huge difference. Per volume 2012 Naruto sold ~76 000 copies in France. Still a lot more than in America.
(Note: Naruto #55 sold +17k in America and 85,6k in France)
Who said that America has a bigger manga market than France? In Volumes sales France is bigger(France don't have manga Magazines, so if you add those numbers, America has a bigger market). In terms of Volumes, in 2010, France made around 30.8 Million copies and earned around 313 Million euros while America made around 25.6 Million copies and earned around 242 Million euros. And America had more than five times the population of France. Right now the situation is pretty much the same(Or had some huge change happened in one of the markets?). Article: [http://www.du9.org/dossier/annexes/
(](http://www.du9.org/dossier/annexes/)Note: Yes, in 2010, One Piece sold more copies, only in Japan, than all France/American manga market printed Volumes.)
-
More than anything, I'm surprised by the existence of Bookscan reports with actual numbers instead of relativistic ratings.
