I get what FSN is going for and the new episode is the best one in a while - expertly executed in terms of animation and music, but the point is delivered kinda poorly in terms of dialog. Doesn't help that the past few episodes have been harping on this same point already. It's so wierd. I really like the idea behind it, but the writing is really awkward (Yes, "people die when they are killed" level - I'm starting to think that wasn't bad fandsubs with how awkward the dialog can be and the past few eps accentuate this flaw a lot.) Also, more molesting of Rin, this time by Kirei AND mistreatment by Shinji. :/
Edit:
I rewatched the episode because it bugged me so much. How admirable is Shirou's desire really, though? The intention behind it is probably that Shirou will just keep going despite all the hardships, the typical shounen here determination stuff, but how will that change the outcome? So he just comes off as extremely childish - strong proof he will turn into a person who throws everything away and ends up alone - "Whatever, I'll do what I want!". Also, what was the point of Kirei at all? It's like if you actually think about it, it all just falls apart. Lancer is still good, though.
the problem with f/sn is different route has different treatment for its characters
kirei is less relevant on ubw, but he's the final boss on fate
archer has many screentime on ubw, but we barely know him on fate
sakura is nobody on both routes, but has significant roles on heaven's feel
