Not my favorite arc and I don't understand every single thing that happened but the series wrapped up nicely. Fantastic and original world with lots of likable characters who learn and grow over time mixed with great action and humor, I'm gonna miss you Soul Eater.
! With the moon still blooded the story can easily continue in Soul Eater Not or another Soul Eater series. Looking forward to more SE Not at least.
Anyone know how many chapters/volumes of Soul Eater Not are out in Japan? -

I'm not sure if that was a bad dream or not. I think I'll read again tomorrow to determine if Ohkubo's boob jokes really got the better of me.

! Nothing gets resolved. They don't save Crona, they don't fully beat the Kinshin, and everything ends on a boob joke and some kinda Star Wars-like ending. I..just….this was so underwhelming it hurts. Man I remember people getting ticked off at the anime ending but at least that FELT like an ending. Is there suppose to a sequel series following this or something cause thats the only explaination I can think of. That or the author just couldn't think of how to end this. Yeah I am glad the witches aren't persecuted anymore, Marie has a baby on the way and Kid's the new shinigami. But this did not feel like a proper way to close out the series. At All.
Get nuts or go crazy trying.

So, thats how it ended? Pretty abrupt; there still seem to be so many open subplots. I have to admit, that I didnt followed it very closely anymore in the last time, so some of them may have actually been adressed. But the series somehow lost its charme with all the neverending fighting and minimal character interactions.
In the end, it could have been worse and SE did not drag along way past its time. But alas, it could have been so much better as well.

SE definitely peaked around baba yaga's castle, and the past 20 chapters just being nothing but fighting clowns and stuff on the moon didn't make for the best paced finale.
as for that ending, I guess Ohkubo decided to end with boobs, just like the first few chapters started fanservice-heavy?

Everything in this last chapter seems so random. Why was the emotional scene with Kid and his father's corpse constantly interrupted ? Why tell the readers that the news of shinigami's death was meet with surprise and sadness when all they showed in this chapter was pointless comedic scenes ? What was the point of the "madness of boobs" ? Or the threesome scene with Blair ? What was the point of Noah's comeback at all ? What the hell happened to Kishin and Crona ?

My guess is either Ohkubo is going to finish off all this…um stuff in either Soul Eater Not OR do a sequel. Not sure why he couldn't just keep on rolling with Soul Eater, but for all we know he could want to do a time skip for some odd reason and designate it as Soul Eater 2 (wild speculation) and make it a whole new story that follows through with these plot holes. There's no way he could leave the Crona and Kishin stuff hanging.Heck MAYBE he wants to start a whole new generation of protagonists to finish off this incomplete arc with some of the current kids as teachers or something (Marie's baby generation shrug). I dunno. I'm just trying to find SOME explanation on why this ended THIS way. How is it the ANIME has a more solid ending than this?

the really strange thing is, it was going pretty well up until now. The last few chapters have been pretty intense, and felt like the Final Climactic Battle should.
and then suddenly - we're back in Jokesville, USA - population "everyone but chrona"

I stopped reading the manga after volume 10. And since the ending is apparently really disappointing, I'm beginning to doubt I'll ever finish it.

Yeah, the last arc was pretty confusing and boring and the final chapter wasn't much of a better conclusion than wherever you left off.

This final chapter was a perfect summation of the problems I had with this series. It's too gimmicky. The author just wasn't good at balancing the comedic and serious parts and it ended up with me never being able to take the dramatic parts seriously. It should have just stuck to a full out gag series instead of a shonen that constantly switched tones. I mean this was the final chapter and you wasted half on it on a dragged out boob joke. What the hell?

How can you say the anime has more solid ending than this? True that in the anime ending we didn't had Boob Obsession vs Ass Obsession, but this ending is a lot of times better than that of the anime. Every plot point ended in the anime was ended in the manga! Every plot point the manga didn't end, the anime didn't either!
Crona and Kishin stuff isn't hanging, simply they couldn't win against him, so Crona sealed him(and herself/himself), just like he was before in Death City. Do you prefer the anime ending where Maka is a weapon(that was the most useless plot point added. Right after it appearance it was thrown into the trash) and because she have courage and hope, suddenly Kishin freaks out, turns into a pussy and with a normal headbutt(or was it a punch? anyways, it doesn't matter) dies.
Sorry, but I prefer Boob jokes any day than the shit of anime ending soul eater had.
The manga showed the aftermath of the battle in death city. Death the kid turning into shinigami, Soul being the last Deathscythe, Black Star training and learning how to fly, talked about the relation between the witches and them, showed a last time the secondary characters. Definitely the manga had a better and more solid ending than the anime! -

I'm puzzled. Everyone's back in Death City except Chrona....um, okay.....Shinigami-sama is dead! That's huge! Why did the whole scene of Kid realizing his father is gone and he'll have to be the one to lead get interrupted by Excalibur??? (fitting for his annoying personality, but.....) And what's more, just an infobox of "Shinigami's dead, people were surprised, some weren't" pops up? We really couldn't see more of the scene?
.....wth, Okubo seriously repeats the three fanservice moments back in the prolouge chapters and chapter 1? The "madness of boobs" joke was just....unfitting for this end-game chapter. Kid officially gets inducted....good but the scene was a tad rushed.
I did like the last few pages with Maka and Soul, but.....seriously? The whole thing with Chrona ends like that? :(
Overall, I was disappointed. This final arc was dragging a bit, but as BBL said, the chapters before at least felt like a final battle. Then….this. It feels like Okubo wanted to wrap things up ASAP, which is fine, but the comedy was sprinkled in at the wrong moments….like TLC said.
To think, I was starting to collect the volumes! And while I like Soul Eater Not, its before-SE status means we're not gonna get any more closure....

I just finished the manga. It was okay.
In theory these events should have ended it well, but it just felt that it wasn't done right.
! Stein & Marie - Since it's been so long since we've seen any romance between them, it felt like them having a baby was like…. rape >_>
Shinigami's death - Felt like a "LOL NO ONE CARES" moment. I actually liked him as a character and if he had to die, it should have been a more valiant death.
Fanservice - In the last chapter? Come on. Way to end it off all classy-like.
Multiple Noahs - Can someone explain this to me? I don't understand how the Kishin vomited the bunch of them. Looks like a bunch of corpses and that's pretty dang morbid.
Maka & Soul - Aw come on :( Couldn't we at least have had a hint of something between them?Hidden:

They won't stop releasing the volumes. Their online YenPlus magazine had the new NOT chapters in English and came out the same day as the Japanese chapters. You needed to buy a subscription of course.

it's a pretty good Halloween-type shonen battle series, the series is kinda a mix between Part 1 Naruto and Bleach in terms of premise, though it's better in my opinion because it doesn't suffer the "only 1 main characters matters" or "females are useless" crap that those 2 have. Art is good, unique and very stylistic. The ending was kinda weird but nothing that really ruined the plot imo. It has bit of ecchi though. Exacalibur is the worst troll in shonen history. The Anime is very good up till episode 38 where they went to filler shit. That's about it.

Soul Eater also had one of my favorite openings in the first season. I'm trying to not get my hopes up about Not being able to live up to that standard.

LOL, no.
The thing about Soul Eater is that its first three chapters are more like prologue chapters, each focusing on one of the main characters, and each are about 50 pages long (together they make about 150-200 pages, so maybe that's what was meant by what you heard).

Today we got many informations about Soul Eater NOT!
According to this ANN article, Ohkubo is currently working on the last Volume of Soul Eater NOT!, so you can expect 4 or 5 volumes of it. It's great that it won't have an alternative storyline like the Soul Eater Anime.Here you can see the character designs for the upcoming Anime of Soul Eater NOT!. The first episode of the anime will air on April 8.
