I thought Usopp finally realizing that he doesnt need to cover himself behind a mask to show true brave and strenght.(also the real purpose to fight with his crew, even when he left them at that time is now gone) So to become a brave warrior of the sea it was one important step for him to get over hiding behind Sogeking. In the Perona-fight it was shown to us that Usopp now finally accepted himself to BE that warrior(->Sogeking..so Sogeking was in the end just his imagined figure of himself being what he wants to be). After the timeskip he should now finally be able to trust in himself and so doesn
t need Sogeking and i somehow doubt that Oda will show us that character development once more.
Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

I don't think we'll be seeing Sogeking for a long time. As said Sogeking came when Usopp doubted his own strength in Thriller Bark. So the only reason for him to become Sogeking would be if he needs a disguise for something, or he is doubting his own strength again. I could see Sogeking appearing towards the end of the series, Usopp doubting himself, and Sogeking asking to let him fight, instead Usopp continues to fight, and realizes he's a brave warrior of the sea.
As for the bounty thing, It's pretty obvious to the world that Usopp is Sogeking. The nose kinda gives it away, and when you know all the Strawhats based off of their bounty posters, one with a mask and long nose is missing, and instead you see one with just a long nose, you can make the connection. My guess is he'll either continue getting bounty's with his face shown, but under the Sogeking name, or we'll get some mention from the Marines that they finally know Sogeking's true name.

Sogeking's plot needs a suitable ending. The 3 lines of dialoge in thriller bark was nowhere near enough. I hope to see Sogeking one last time with ussop asborbing the persona by using the mask then not hearing the voice and realizing he has to rely on himself and then after the fight we hear sogeking say goodby or something. I'm sure oda could do it much better, after all the few scenes with the ships spirit were perfect, something like that would be great.
-
Sorry, just a quick question. Accounting for the usual filler runaround between arcs, when do you think the anime will be post timeskip? Is September a realistic guess, or will it probably take longer than that?

Sogeking wasn't a power up initially it was just a way for him to fight with the crew in EL without them knowing it was him. Only affecting Luffy and Chopper while the crew knew who he was and what to expect.
TB he used Sogeking as a split personality to realise that he had the ability and observational powers to defeat Perona.
If Sogeking is going to be a crutch of Usopp it will negate a lot of his supposid training. If Sogeking is brought back as a means of merging Usopp with Sogeking to change the bounty picture or as a massive reveal function that isn't that bad.

I would probably say if they could drag it out to the new year they might - just so that it can be a bit more momentious changing from 1 year to the next and skipping 2 in One Piece.
I have a feeling that when the Time skip is announced there will be a period of recaps - all of the previous arcs shruken to cash in on the clip show factor. It would be unnecessary - but is a time honoured tradition of most TV networks and besides it gives an ample oppertunity to do it.
Although there is the possibility as well they will tie the recaps to the Manga related recaps only and perhaps make the small arcs in there rather then after the time skip is launched. -
We will see him in our hearts and on Sniper island.
-
@Zik:
We will see him in our hearts and on Sniper island.
Actually I would laugh if there was a Sniper Island and Sogeking like mask was their god
That would be funny - especially if there was 8000 snipers on the island all there to follow their god
…. funny thing is that may actually happen

If I remember correctly, Kaya and the Usopp Pirates were the only ones on Syrup island able to identify Usopp as being Sogeking, and Kuma or a Pacifista identified him as Sogeking without his mask.
I'm not sure the rest of the world would jump to the conclusion that Usopp is Sogeking as quickly as you'd think. They're looking for Sogeking, since that's the name and face with a bounty. That's why Demalo Black had a fake Sogeking on his crew. -
Juste one little question, in Oda's databooks (or questions to oda, i don't really know all), does he mentions a possible Captain Jack Sparrow's apparence in One Piece manga? Or something like that.
I just watched the new "pirates of the caribbean", there's Blackbeard in (not the same as the one piece character of course).

Preposterous!! -

I think Dizzney would be totally against this. Jack Sparrow is a new fictional character by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio so Oda would have to ask them due to copyright issues… Do you really think Oda would PAY for using one character when he needs less than a day to create up to nine different ones like the supernovae?

This is only a hypothetical, albeit a grim one, but if someone with terminal cancer wanted Oda to share the ending of One Piece with them as their "wish," I wonder, would he oblige?

! Luffy becomes the Pirate king.
Also it is risky - lets say that person decides that he will share it online - ending spoiled years before.
Let's just say if Valve is unbothered by the amount of fans awaiting episode 3 that have passed away (I know of 2, one who even wrote to them I thought) It is a risk that comes with long series, and something that I don't think authors think about too much or it may be too much of a distraction.
Also I would imagine that most have editors or staff that will screen letters like that - I don't even know if they would pass on a letter with a request like that to be honest.</nico:<>

Well, if they went through the Make A Wish foundation, they'd have a better chance. The spoiler thing would still be an issue though. If someone was a big enough fan to use that as their wish though, they'd probably not want to spoil it for everyone.
-
Will Luffy's loss of years on his life have any direct bearing on the conclusion of the series? I my self have two possibilities
-To create drama and suspense so no real bearing
-Or a blurp telling of Luffy's death and knowing he could live 10+ years longer than that. -

The healing hormones weren't used in the War, the Tension hormones were. The healing hormones were the ones that caused the lifespan to be shortened.

How big are the giants, really? (regular ones, not Oars, San Juan etc.)
In the manga, sometimes they are half as big as Oars, sometimes smaller etc.

Now that the Umibozu was introduced in chapter 606, i feel Sanjuan Wolf might be an "umibozu" too

Giants sizes probably vary a little bit, I'll cite the Groggy monsters for that,
but I know that when it comes to the average sized- giant:
spoiler'd image for size. -

wow i never really thought of oars being that big because the giants at marine ford were about half the size of little oars junior but i guess thats why hes called little oars  but it does make the oars in TB a little more scary just think what if luffys shadow was captured and we saw moria using a completely loyal oars zombie

spoiler'd image for size.Thanks. That seems reliable. The manga was a little confusing. And we know the anime can't be trusted. It was also confusing anyway.
I always though regular giants are as big as normal humans compared to smurfs:ninja:

Does anyone have a link to a good one piece cover gallery? I mostly want to just read though the cover stories without having to go through individual chapters but I would also like to look at all the colour spreads while I'm at it.

so….
does mermaid poop?
-
I thought Keimi answered Luffy on that question way back when he first met her…
-
so when the makoshark mermaids legs split will she be a giant? do you think she could be close to her splitting age? i smell nakama
-
Shirley isn't that tall. I don't think she's much taller than Magellan - still relatively human sized.

Maybe Sanji was too loud back then…

Magellan isn't human sized…
In One Piece, "human sized" is up to more than 7 meters… Depends on whether or not Whitebeard is taller than Kuma and Moriah. So yes, Magellan is human sized...
-
It's ridiculous, if you start using Magellan as a reference for human size :getlost:
And when did Oda clearly said that "human sized" can mean "up to 7 meters", please ? -

And when did Oda clearly said that "human sized" can mean "up to 7 meters", please ?The term "normal humans" here is being used to refer basically to humans who are not giants. A conversation between the Enis Lobby gate guard giants and those three large humans from the Franky Family revealed that some "normal humans" were just big, opposed to them being half giant or something. The 7 meters approximation most likely comes from the heights of Moria and Kuma which are 692 cm and 689 cm respectively (stated in SBS 58).

She was about to. But Sanji interrupted her so we don't know the answer.
Yes we do. Yes they do.

What do you think the NW will look now that the Marine HQ has been shifted?
-
I've been wondering about Brooke lately. How can he get stronger? He has no muscles or anything. He stated in recent chapters that his music has "power" now. Any thoughts? Also does anyone think he'll fight Scratchman Apoo?

Well Sanji can buff the Group by feeding them the new food he has learnt to cook.
Chopper has new medicines he can use to the crews benifit.Brooke should be able to for want of a better term be the RPG Bard of the group - Buffing through battlesongs and Demoralising the opponents.
Just a guess though.
-
That would be kind of a let down to me though. I was hoping that he could control his bones in a way similar to Buggy's power.
-

She was said to be young 25 years ago (one year prior to Roger's death). So either she is in her late 20's (28-29) or she's in his early 30s (31-32).

If she was in her early 30's her tail would have split, she can only be in her late 20's.

Mermaid's who tails have split don't have to walk on two legs they can keep their tails as one piece if they want.
