Anyway, does anybody have ANY idea on what 285 stand for on the add at the bottom? They couldn't have possibly gone from 232 pages max to 285, could they? -
The cover is mehhhhhhhhh, could of been wayyyy better. Don't know why Mr. 1 is on the cover anyway, he barely does anything, all his does is act as Croc's b*tch!
Agrees it would have been nice to see BB on the cover.

In my opinion, the creepy hormone guy needs less of the cover-age on this volumne. He has been the most annoying as of late. Luffy barely on the cover in comparison.

Le Tome #56 de One Piece (qui sort le 4 Décembre) aura un tirage de 2 850 000 pour sa 1ere édition. C'est un nouveau record dans le monde du manga. Le précédent record était détenue aussi par des tomes de One Piece en l'occurrence les tomes #27 et #55 (2 630 000).

That's certainly the case. 285 million would be almost twice the total amount of copies OP sold in Japan to this day.
Still, this issue is now the biggest first print of any manga release ever.

Ah a voice of reason. They should switch Luffy around with Ivankov, would be a lot better.
I couldn't disagree with you if I wanted since Ivan's Deux Ex Machina abilities were fustrating throughout the entire arc.

the "285" obviously stands for the combines number of bitches that Cocodile, Ivankov, and Luffy have. They have 285 all together.
I think the bitches distribution goes like this:
Ivankov: 150, easily
Crocodile: 90
Luffy: 45 only, he's not been out and about for long enough to really have THAT many bitches yet. -

A bit boring cover indeed. I was looking forward for more dynamic poses. Well, at least Croc's colours look mighty fine. Same can't be said about Iva. Oh well.

Croc, Jinbei, & especially Luffy should be the focus of this cover, so why are we looking at the top of their heads? Ivankov, Daz, & Inazuma are taking up way too much space, imho.
Ivankov's colorscheme is just….I don't know, gross. I don't know why they went with that horrible shade of pink--at least pick a decent pink. Can't really see Luffy in yellow, either. Should have kept him in teal. Everyone else's colors look good. I prefer Croc's colorscheme here than to the new anime's opening sequence (I mean seriously, what are the chances of him finding another purple scarf?), and the black suits him (such a pimp).
Really, really wish the poses were better....:sad:

I was expecting Iva and co. on the cover but Iva really steals the entire scene ^^; And yes, some Croc and Jinbei would be good too.
Anyway, I'm more excited about new stuff at SBS section though. Hope they get translated soon after the volume's out. -

I think we can all agree Team Oda, Toei, teen/adult fans, and younger/casual fans have completely different perspectives when it comes to One Piece as a whole, not to get into regional logistics.
Personally, #56 isn't my favorite cover (I don't think I've even designated one myself), but I see no reason to change it.
But what do I know? I love opening 12 and think it fits even the 'epic' laste minute or so.

Well, still not a fan of Luffy's yellow vest, but I'm digging Crocodile's black suit and coat. Probably 'cause I can't really image it being anything else since that was what almost all of the fan colorings were.
The cover probably could've been formatted better, but oh well.
