Remember that it was said that Shanks was on par with Mihawk, before he lost his hand. I think that'll give a little perspective to the thing.
Oda; "Losing an arm didn't cost him any strength".
In other words, Shanks isn't any weaker.
Makes you wonder; just how strong at the top sowrdsmen.
I was a big anime fan at the time (not really now) and it happened to be on. Though I'd heard bad dubbing before, I thought this was below par, manyof the bad dubbing trends I'd seen recently from other animes were there. While that normally doesn't bother me, I wanted to see what the orginal was like. At the time, I had no idea 4Kids were that bad and I've had a "love to hate" relationship with the company since. The more I watched the orginals, the more I loved One Piece and the less I loved the 4Kids dub.
To date, this is the only anime which caused me to seek out the orginal version after hearing a REALLY bad dub.
If he is alive, it will lessen the impact of the story… :-/
"Think about it…it's their fault for not having been born as nobles in the first place"
"You're right! They really should have been born as nobles! What fools!"Uh, okay Oda. I know you're trying to make the nobles sound like pompous arrogant assholes, but now you're just making them sound retarded.
Yet even today you do get folks like that. Its not something that died out in the 1940s. But before then, the divid was EXACTLY like this. The rich upper class used to seperate themselves just like this. And some still do.
Oda never said that in any SBS. In fact, Oda rarely mentioned or took questions about Ace at all.
The whole artist's mistake theory about Ace's tattoo has been fan theory for years, to the point where its been accepted as fact. However, nothing about it has been stated in the story or by the author as far as I know, so its still just speculation.
I can't remember much about it myself… I'm too lazy to search the SBSs these days, since I did it about a hundred times in the past until I was sick of them. As I said, a yuear ago I'd have known if they were or were not in there.
One Piece is getting really hard to keep track of info of (heck I've even laid off editing the wikia to give myself a break from looking up the info constantly for a few weeks).
Where was this ever stated? And even if… Should he say... hey in the future I will introduce Sabo and something will happen?
Even if I would love to see Sabo I have a hard time to see a explanation for it which would answer all things against it.
But hey it is Oda... And if he will do it... it will be awesome
A year ago I'd have told you off the top of my head… Now... I can't be bothered to rereead the SBSs to find it.
I don't think it matters, Luffy will take those even without a job on the ship. :-/
He offered to Gaimon, and Vivi wouldn't have had a position if she'd stayed.
That shows for me a big hint for something bad for Sabo next chapter
Oda put that down as an artist mistake from the tattooist.
I personnelly think its going to turn out that the fishmen are just someone's genetic experience centuries ago and they lost/forgot their origins. Simulair to how the sky folk forgot theirs.
