I don't wano talk about it.
Nah, so far the visuals are cool.
The country looks great and peaceful in appearance (aside from one street murderer).
It's kind of sad that it will probably get utterly destroyed by the fight that is about to take place.
I know Luffy saved the Dressrosa of Doffy's well disguised tyranny…..but...well...90% of the citizens are homeless now right ?
Kunoichis and Onna-bugeishas please
Things I would like to have in this arc is someone from Zoro's past as a Bounty Hunter. Maybe his mentor or a senpai… or even a pirate he failed to capture because was too powerful for him back then. Preferably King or Queen.

I am sure that Zoros master will be revealed as Samurai from group of best samurais in Wano from like 2 decades ago or so.
I want to see Awakened Zoan users fighting in city streets against stronger Strawhats and Co. Something like we had during Alabasta arc.
I want to see Kidd using his Devil Fruit power to form gigantic mecha-like Robot and fight with one of Kaidous calamities.
I want to see Drake agenda to be revealed.
And I want Sanji to be freaking BADASS in a fight. Him having very hard time fighting Calamity and then using suit to save some lives as he already kind of was part of reason why Pedro died.. and then beating a Calamity with use of a suit even if destroying it or throwing it away after fight, would be freaking badass. And I need that from Sanji. Still not given up on him being purely badass like what Zoro gets on weekly basis.

Yeah, there's that guy. I don't care about the dojo people, I actually want to see someone from his bounty hunter life (the only thing we got from that are Johnny and Yosaku decades ago)… but I suppose you are right, if we are going to see any name from Zoro's past in Wano it will probably be his master.

I hope Sanji will keep the raid suit. Even more if he will stronger people in the future

Biggest profit for any crew member from getting raid suit would be for Ussop - its perfect for him.
Beside that I hope that Sanji will go all out from get go in his future fights as he already might blame himself for Pedro dying. Him wearing Raid suit would be only to save someone imo.. but maybe at same time we are yet to see more of his fighting ability ? He is plenty strong, probably comparable to Jinbe but did not yet got proper showing… in my opinion.
During entire Whole Cake Island he did not used Hell Memories even once.
The only thing I'm expecting is unmet explanations and complaining

Well, you have to look at it this way :
1. The suit probably isn't exactly like his brothers ( since Sanji hasn't manifested any powers whatsoever) and it probably has a more basic appearance. At least i hope so.
2. Without the suit Sanji has low chances of really improving himself to make up for the 2 years worth of intense training (that both Luffy & Zorro did) and to keep up with the constant increase in opponents power levels. There is little to none context/setting for him to develop selftaught improvements. For ex: If Zorro would've been in his shoes he would've dedicated all his journey to Wano to training, maybe even refuse to go on board the ship and swim to Wano. Sanji is daydreaming about girls.
3. Each SH will get some kind of powerup except maybe Luffy who is 3-4 levels above them. Nami has gotten Zeus (and is now more dangerous then Sanji imo), Zorro will get a new sword/attack mechanic like Kinemon, Sanji got the suit.
4. Having Sanji really wear the suit is the most logical option imo, Usopp can easily come up with a different powerup/invention to make him more relevant in the future. He even developed advanced CoO at the end of Dressrosa, so a buildup context is already there efor him to exploit.

And to add more. Story wise it makes sense only for Sanji using it because of the history.
It would be like giving the Mera Mera to someone else besides Sabo at Dressrosa
just want to say this :
inb4 zoro defeating the shogun of Wano and Luffy defeating Kaidou (and maybe Big Mom too)
More cultural references please, I wonder what's next.
Halfmetal**-lich's simple rules for enjoying the Wano Arc without devolving into a complete and total piece of shit.
1. Get excited, talk about the chapters, discuss with your fellow fans.
2. Theorize what you think is gonna happen, talk and make videos!
BUT DO NOT
1. Go into this arc with a checklist of what YOU think should happen, then bitch about it because Oda went another way.
2. Think this arc will live up in anyway to the expectations you've spent years making up in your head.
3. Get pissy and harass people who may like the arc if you don't.
4. Overhype yourself with unrealistic fan expectations.
Wano is gonna be a good arc. Be a better fan and temper yourself, manage your hype, and settle your expectations. You'll probably enjoy things far more that way.**
You're way too late. I already stopped enjoying thia arc two years ago. I will enjoy the civil war between people who read for story and people who read for action.
The only thing that should definitely happen is Bigmom facing Kaido, and also destroying things. That's my only expectation. She can't just be pushed away by the samurais
I know they said it's a nation of swordsmen and stuff, but I do hope the Samurai are a bit more varied in fighting styles then just that. Like, even if they have to use swords, like one with a nodachi, the other with like tanto, one who sues a bokken instead of an actual sword, etc.

We already know they are thanks to Raizo.
I bet Kumadori will have some part to play.

Dressrosa was a very urban island. Wano, which is based on Edo period Japan, will probably have a lot more open ground to fight. Especially since wano is so ancient in comparison. Robin wouldnt like it

"Get back woman, the battlefield is no place for a lady." *Big Mom throws Samurai at faraway Wano Mountain.
So glad it only took one chapter to confirm Yokai exsists…... idk why but I love Yokai
would love to see some yokai allies like Brunch from Toriko, that guy was the man
I bet Kumadori will have some part to play.
This would be a good opportunity to introduce us to his mom.
Imagine if every characters somewhat related to Kaido, Bigmom and the samurai theme were to make an appearance in this arc
I mean, why not. But just, IMAGINE

I personally don't need to encounter all her kids^^

Assuming all of Wano will take place during the Reverie, then no Bonney.
I am envisioning a scene much later in this arc that would go something like:
BM arrives in front of the SH demanding them to give up back what they stole from her.
Nami be like "she knows I kept Zeus", Brook "she knows I kept the poneglyph copies.
Then she points to Sanji and tells she wants her son-in-law back.
BM found through Pudding it was Sanji who made the cake taste so good and she becomes obsessed with bringing him back.
It is revealed the Germa are kept as hostages to make sure Sanji wil colaborate.
No expectations, just feeling happy like when I was a kid watching the anime.
This is going to be a beautiful arc
is Zeus in his pokeball or smthing?
Tama is Katakuri's "daughter". He made her out of mochi and Big Mom gave life to her. She is his greatest treasure
I will lol so hard if Wano people will think Brook is a Yokai
@Kaido:
Tama is Katakuri's "daughter". He made her out of mochi and Big Mom gave life to her. She is his greatest treasure
If DF could in any way possibly be inherited by one's child, I would totally think Tama was Katakuri's daughter.
But she is actually Queen who was turned into a small child and lost her memories because of Jack, envious of her power because she stood above him despite being a woman. He allied himself with some priest in Wano and found this spell that transformed her. The tengu guy is actually a loyal subordinate pretending to be her master.
You heard here first. But read first on Bleach.
What the heck was up with the Straw Hats abandoning the Sunny so quickly this chapter? And how come Nami didn't use Zeus as a way out where everyone could fit? And isn't Carrot's specialty jumping and hovering? Why did she need Sanji's help to get out? Very weird scene there, not that it bothered my enjoyment of the chapter, but weird nonetheless. The start to the arc has been strong so far. Fast paced, exciting, already meeting a local oppressed kid and co. Taking out some goons effortlessly. Hawkins coming up next, kinda like Bege in Totto Land. All nice so far. I still wonder what is up with the octopus from last chapter…
And how come Nami didn't use Zeus as a way out where everyone could fit?
Only Big Mom can ride Zeus.
^That's something I was wondering. When Luffy asks to ride him, Zeus says only BM can do it because he was made with her soul. It is unclear if he means "The only one I can let ride me is mama because I was made of her soul" or "She is the only one who can physically do it because I am made of her soul".
If it was the latter, people dreaming of Nami going full Son Wulong may be disappointed.
Interested in many elements of this arc, but especially the Hawkins/Kidd/Apoo alliance. My current guess is that Kidd will be freed by someone from the protag-group, and then will somehow end up cooperating with Luffy & Law against Kaidou. Maybe we'll get a jacked-up version of their team-up at Saboady.
But even if not, I'm really excited to see their interactions and fights – I just reread the Totto Land arc and Bege really was the unexpected MVP in writing, badassery and salience to the plot. Hoping Oda imputes these guys with some similar energy.
Only Big Mom can ride Zeus.
I didn't remember that detail, but access timeco's post clarified it. Which means it is still not really clear how someone can ride it but it's not likely for anyone to ride it other than Linlin.
I wonder if there's any possibility Urouge might show up?
@S.C.:
I wonder if there's any possibility Urouge might show up?
He was briefly shown blessing Kaido when he jumped off a sky island, and before that he had defeated a Sweet Commander. Maybe he'll show up as an adversary to Big Mom? Unclear what exactly happened between them. He doesn't seem to have a particular reason to be fighting Kaido's crew, and he isn't in any alliance that we know of. Plus, almost every Supernova is involved already, so adding him into the mix might seem too much?
He could be used in the 'Enel returns!' storyline (if Oda does anything with the Moon adventures) because he comes from Bilka. Other than that, he's a pretty mysterious folk: who knows what he'll end up doing? All supernova are getting action time, from the versatile Kidd to the intriguing Bonney, which means we'll know soon enough.
Do you think's possible that Wano doesn't read the same News that the rest of the world does? The Paramount War, and Ace's death, were hugely published events that spread throughout the world. It's seems odd that O-Tama wouldn't know the person she's waiting for is dead if that isn't the case.
Granted, it's possible that her and Tengu are too poor to afford the News, but Tengu (at least from what little we've seen of him) seems like a relatively responsible guy who would probably have found out from other citizens.
If that's the case, then it's likely that only the Beast Pirates know about what happened at WCI (and that mystery article that Nami didn't finish reading), and the Swordhats don't know anything.
Now, I don't know if this would actually lead to anything substantial, but it's just something I've been thinking about.

Forget him, where is my dude Moriah lol

Wano has constantly over and over again been pointed out as an isolated hermit country.
Kinemon and Momo initially reacted with everything they saw as strange and exotic when we first saw them. Kinemon was making wild assumptions about everything he saw being normal for non-Wano people.
I really don't get how so many people seem to have missed this. Oda hammered it in, and it's a really central part of even the whole idea of a Edo Japan cliche list.

Riiight I forgot about Kinemon. Thanks.
This arc is shaping up to be real good, so far.

I agree. It will both have adventure and showdowns. That's a fun combo.
Got a gut feeling this arc is gonna be incredible and is what Oda has been building towards since Punk Hazard. Let's hope it pays off and doesn't disappoint.
There are so many characters in play and that's awesome, but I'm afraid they won't be used at full potential.

Monkey King, do you have any idea if/how Oda might bring in allusions to the Commodore Matthew Perry Expedition and the Black Ships?

Kaidou!
Kaidou and his dudes are the assholes that have forced their way in and broken the hermit seal on the country.
