Well if he is not defeated now, he will be soon. There is little interest in him not being defeated.
same with jack,but he survived…

Very cool chapter !
I would have liked to see Luffy using Elephant Gatling before Gear 4 though.
@Kaido:
He only fathered Chiffon and Lola, meaning the other children had different fathers, making him their stepfather.
I guess that makes sense even though Pound and Big Mom aren't married anymore so thinking of him as a Stepfather is weird especially when Big Mom usually ditches the fathers after she gives birth.
Surprised for this chapter to be so good we don't have more people commenting. So if Nami electrocuted Bruleh, how do we get Chopper and Rabbit back. I thought breaking the mirror would do it, however they are still trapped. I suppose everyone is broken up about no Bleach chapter and boycotting Shonen. LOL

well, just the shield is broken, the sword seems ok….
…And what will he use to block the next attack? Cracker has no more cards to play. Game over!

He was able to spawn multiple swords, I'm guessing he can also spawn more shields. I also have a feeling that we didn't get to see the full extent of his devil fruit powers.
…And what will he use to block the next attack? Cracker has no more cards to play. Game over!
he has another shield, and can duplicate it at will
he has another shield, and can duplicate it at will
I think he meant the fact that Luffy tore it apart with a Kong Gun (essentially a Jet Pistol equivalent with Gear 2nd) means that the other shields would be just as "useless".
Are The Red hair pirates in The same island where Fisher Tiger was shOt by The marines? If yes The island is desert now..
…And what will he use to block the next attack? Cracker has no more cards to play. Game over!
Yeah, he has shown us everything he had… just as Big Mom. Cracker is down and weakling Big Mom will fall this arc.

i doubt oda intended it to be a specific location,it's just "an island"
…And what will he use to block the next attack? Cracker has no more cards to play. Game over!
See last panel on p16…
Why ? Now that it has been revealed, gear 4 will be used everytime he encounter a strong opponent. The same way he had to use gear 2 then gear 3.
Yes, but Gear Fourth will leave him helpless in a forest full of enemies, which is why Nami didn't want him going this far in the first place.

I hope that before Cracker stand up Luffy "canceled" Gear Fourth and went into Elephant Gattling against weakened Cracker. But most likely we will see Gear Fourth overpowering Cracker after one or two more chapters long, rather even fight.
If anybody thinks that Cracker is already KOed.. its not enough to make few holes/dents in a tank. Lets wait and see. First part of this fight was quite great. I wonder whats up with Oda and guys with Horns lately.. Kaido, Jack, now Cracker huh..
Personally I'm hoping we see Kong Gatling against Cracker.
Gomu Gomu no Firecracker is my prediction on what it the Gear 4 gatling will be called.
Gear 4 is almost invincible right now that Doffy can't even scratch Luffy when in it. I doubt Cracker can do anything against Luffy besides waiting it out too. He looks like an straightforward kind of fighter, not a trickster. Though his "duplication" ability has great potential for tricks like making redundancies on his body by having multiple organs or something, improving his survivability. Well, for all intents and purposes, Cracker is just an underling and Luffy don't do round 2s with underlings. He's gonna lose here.

Bull crap! Nami have no idea that Luffy have gear 4.

It depends if he runs out of haki or not.
And Nami has the vivre card, so the hommies can't do anything against them.
I'm still supporting the idea the fight will be interrupted, somehow.
Neither Nami, Chopper, nor Brook saw Luffy go Gear 4 before. I wonder what their reactions will be.
Even if Nami doesn't know what Gear Fourth does, we the viewers do. Luffy becomes helpless after deactivating it regardless of whether he runs out of Haki or not.
Great chapter! I didn't feel like Bruele's little speech was out of place or too long at all. Luffy gets sent flying through the forest and that quick exchange is over, I'd say perfect timing for Bruele to give her little monologue while Luffy is on his way back. We know she likes to torture the faces of pretty people so her words about how futile it is for Straw Hats seemed only fitting to me. I am extremely interested in the differences between the blackening affect and the invisible Haki now. Cracker's defense is the best Luffy's been up against and that shield and arm didn't turn black at all.Really happy Oda threw that bone to Urouge, It's going to be exciting to hear the details on that 4th Commander that may or may not be alive. Take a look at that cracker house that the Homies are running away from. It's probably Bruele's witch cottage with that big mirror on it but it looks like a cat is posted on the roof. Maybe the true Cheshire Cat?

Why do I get the feeling Luffy will end up being captured.

I think they must have mentioned it. The SHs work really well together as a team, so it's implied they discuss their attacks (strengths and weaknesses) off panel. I think all the Totto crew knew about Sabo without directly being told in any of the chapters (at least from my memory). It wouldn't make sense to not have discussed what happened respectively on eachother's journeys.

Oda does random expositions that are extremely long and sets up future arcs. It's not the best writing but it works well in shonen and especially in One Piece with all these plot threads going on.
Holy Shit! That Urogue hype!
So that's why he was recuperating on the sky island. He was weak from his battle against the commander. But damn Luffy if you need Gear 4 just to put a dent on one the emperor's commanders then you have no chance against Big Mom let alone Kaido.
@John:
or we can also call it bad writing. this chapter just proved that Luffy could have ended Doflamingo in a single double-page, but hell no, he didn't because Bellamy bullshit and other shit and shit and shit.
This might actually one of the most bullshit claims i have seen in this section since Darth.
I don't know how you reached that conclusion but no just plainly no.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
i call it both bad writing and he got stronger. Bad writing since we know now he had gear fourth. I'm sure cracker's sword swing is stronger than hody's bite. Sanji's probably got stronger too since he could deflect the spear point of his father's attack.
Huh? What are you getting at?
I doubt Cracker is down for good, Jack can fight off the minks and tanked for days. So I doubt big mom executive is that far off.
The fight will either be interrupt by someone or Luffy gonna use stronger moves like king kong gun or something else to take down cracker.
Great action chapter
Cracker still needs to name his fruit.
And we still need to see why he's called thousand arms Cracker.
Then he can get knocked out.
This chapter just puts Luffy and Mingo and even Kaido in perspective. Luffy needed to go all out against an underling! This is why it's clear as day Luffy won't take down Big Mom this arc and it will only serve as a wake up call for him to use against Kaido. I can't wait to see Kaido fight most of the worst generation captains.
What a great chapter. The fight is really well-drawn and each panel and page feel cohesive and fits (even the exposition dump by Brûlée).
So Pound is the father of Lola, Chiffon, Cracker and Brûlée? I wonder if this includes Pudding too?
I was one of the believers that thought Luffy didn't have to go straight to Gear 4th in the fight due to the fact that he would wear himself out too quickly if he didn't beat Cracker within G4's time limit, but because Cracker's Armament Haki is strong (even stronger than Mingo, considering how much of a struggle it was to take him down), I guess there was no other way and had to really go all-out. Luffy did get a good hit in with the Kong Gun though, I guess I should stop underestimating the kid since he is the one who'll be King of the Pirates, sooner or later.
And someone posted that Luffy could just eat the sweets on the island, so him getting his strength back after G4 shouldn't be a problem at all (though he would probably prefer meat instead ).
Even if Cracker is knocked out now, that doesn't mean he won't fight later. Oda can name his fruit anytime he wants. Doesn't have to be now

Yeah it's pretty obvious Kadio gonna be a taken down by Luffy,Kid,Law,Drake and maybe Hawkins and Apoo.
The panel of Luffy crashing through trees that have horrified expressions is now my favourite panel
I really enjoyed this chapter. Great exposition, finally some action, and it felt well paced.
Maybe I interpreted it differently from everyone else, but I thought the Kong gun took Cracker out. I think it makes sense and gives a good idea of the power of the yonko. Gear third isn't enough to take out a commander on Big Mom's crew, but one good hit from Gear 4th is. Either way, I'm excited.
Brûlée really thinks Capone is a true ally of BM… All I'll say is, never underestimate a Supernova.
Dat Urouge hype. Nice to see Oda hasn't forgot about him.

Oda never forgets.
Other Supernovae like X Drake and X Drake will be even more hyped than he is.

No, Luffy will fight Kaido alone. As he always did.
Here's my prediction:
-Jack vs Killer ( hey, they both use the same kind of weapon )
-Kidd vs a calamity
-Law vs a calamity
-Zoro vs the false Shogun of Wano
-Luffy vs Kaido
Few things I wanna say.
-Back in Enies Lobby, both Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd were double-edged swords who had collateral damage to Luffy's body and now Luffy trained to the point he can do both techniques naturally as if they were regular attacks and Gear 4th is not a technique that Luffy could use it anytime since he risk his life when using it. So saying that he could it use against Doflamingo or Hody(That by the way, the fight was underwater) right of the bat is not a smart move and it is not right to say that Gear 4th has replaced Gear 2nd in a sense.
-Even if it is a mistranslation, I don't think Luffy is comparing Cracker's CoA since he don't really faced Rayleigh's CoA as in fought against it.
Nami electrocuted Brûlée. Fitting as you can cook up Brûlée by frying it. The rest of Big Mom's subordinates will be defeated in a way that is fitting for their food types. It's the only way.
Before posting a video, make sure it was already posted.
Oda never forgets.
Other Supernovae like X Drake and X Drake will be even more hyped than he is.
An X Drake fan, I see. I'm more of a Apoo/Urouge/Law/Kid fan myself, but I wonder, what's Drake up to?

You really think that Luffy can go 1 vs 1 against Kaido???
After problems he had with Cracker? Ermmmm…

So Cracker is going to be pretty salty once he's defeated, huh?

So you're saying Perospero is going to get… licked?
You really think that Luffy can go 1 vs 1 against Kaido???

Oda has always managed to make us believe Luffy can't beat the "boss arc". And Oda said he was thinking how Luffy will beat Kaido because Kaido is god-like, so I'm pretty positive he'll beat him alone. Luffy will also turn into something like that too when he'll awake his DF.
And Luffy vs Kaido will happen in at least 100chapter so… Luffy having trouble against Cracker is still all part into Oda's strategy, consisting to make us believe he can't beat Kaido ( well, right now he can't, but will be able to ).
@The:
I wonder, what's Drake up too?
Best theory so far is, Drake is allied with Law and is waiting…
But whatever happens, I'm pretty sure all the supernova will gang up against Kaido and his army.
What is interesting is that Drake could be a calamity. Now that we know Urouge has beaten a Youku's commander, we can assume Drake is strong enough to be one.
While Luffy getting pissed is sort of a "nakama trigger" as someone else put it, the way Cracker talked to him was actually very similar to how Blujam talked to him and Ace in the Gao Kingdom flashback about Sabo. I think that added more fuel to the fire there and made Luffy throw caution to the wind and go all out, knowing it was a lie just like with Sabo.
Also, Luffy vs Cracker is actually shaping up to be sort of a Blueno 2.0 to the point where we may actually see a new utility in the Gear 4th transformation in the upcoming chapter. Cracker will no doubt go all-out in the next chapter.
I am extremely interested in the differences between the blackening affect and the invisible Haki now. Cracker's defense is the best Luffy's been up against and that shield and arm didn't turn black at all.
I see Cracker's Hard Biscuit as his version of Tekkai, but with a much harder defense. Cracker's arms are always black but he was probably using Armament Haki on his arms to keep the shield steady. Then again, it's hard to decipher whether or not Sanji is using Armament Haki because of his black pants. Just so you know, I'm not completely denying the possibility of invisible Armament Haki, it may show up somewhere, but I don't think it was shown here.
