@Kurloz:
If Oda wrote a chapter where it was revealed that Franky had a surfer friend who liked Aloha shirts from before he met Tom who got eaten by a shark and that's the reason he wears those things all the time I wouldn't call that good foreshadowing.
Some people say Sabo is hamfisted because Oda is usually so good about foreshadowing names that will have an impact on the story later, but Sabo's existence was not once mentioned until less than 10 chapters before his debut in the arc where Ace died marking his queue to appear in the future as a replacement goldfish. He likely had him in mind early on but readers can usually try to extrapolate what hints could possibly mean, that S could've been anything.
Ace Ventura or stereotypical American/tourist. Choose one. Franky wearing Aloha shirts that could very well just be his policy like Luffy wearing shorts isn't the same as something you go out of your way to do - like getting a tattoo.
Oda knows how to spell "Ace" (otherwise why bother crossing out the S that doesn't belong), now a crossed out S on his arm COULD be anything sure, now tell me what else it can be.
Also hope you realized I was responding to someone who wanted a "hint" to a 3rd brother and nothing else.
@LazySketcher:
That reminds me, I remember reading somewhere in a less than reliable source that Oda only created the Supernovas because the editors said that the Sabaody Archipelago Arc needed to be a bit more exciting for the readers.
To think, if it weren't for Oda editors, Trafalgar Law would never have been part of the story at all. Now he's not only insanely popular but he's practically a full-fledged Strawhat too. Funny how that worked out.
Yeah I remember reading that one. It took only 3 hours, so it's easier to say that at least some of them were already in his head.
Which actually further proved my point that Sanji's "people are defined by their heart, not their faces" speech in Alabasta was foreshadowing to a similar power as Mr. 2 - like swapping bodies (Law).

Sanji told Mr. 2 that people are not defined based on what they look like on the outside but by their hearts. Shortly after, Sanji couldn't kick Mr. 2 with Nami's face so as serious as he was when he said it, one can argue that was just a lie but it did serve some purpose which is very like OP. That moment served as a warning to the readers that something as cliche (but indicative) as "People are hearts" would come back as a more plausible explanation to another event that's set up in the future - which is Law's ability to switch non-physical things as people's "minds". Of course, one can argue that is just a part of Law's ability which is similar to Kuma deflecting the pain of others but there's two clear questions that arises from that: "Why is it shown as cliche cartoony hearts?" and "If their 'minds' are switched, why was it shown as hearts?"
