As far as Dofla knows, and it's not exactly wild and tenous information he's working with, Luffy is in the seastone barred arena that has only one (hidden) exit fighting for his brothers DF.

He can't possibly know that 1) Sabo was there to trade places with Luffy, even Luffy didn't know he was until 2 chapters ago and 2) that the superbly loyal Bellamy would show Luffy the one hidden exit.

So as far as Doffy can possibly know, Luffy is indeed in the arena.

I just want to clear something up for those that don't understand Becca's charachter and failed to grasp Oda's painting of the situation. Gladiators of the colliseum in our world started out at a bloody murdurous inhumane kill fest and as we as humans evolved into a more civilized fold that changed. We developed sports and other means to entertain in arena like settings. More civilized just as entertaining and no one needs to sie or losw life and limb usually… anyways remember all those gladiators the were all so messed up from blood orgy after blood orgy in the story when becca attacked luffy? Yeah Rebecca and her family arent down with that shit it saddens them so Beccas not weak at all she has the strength and speed to win without killing. Becca is batman. Clear?

Only read part of the thread, hope this isn't annoying: I think the resolution of this block was perfect for hyping both Cavendish and Rebecca. Or rather, confirming their hype. Some seem to think this makes Rebecca look bad, because it wasn't an aggressive victory. I think its really cool! Part of the fun of a battle royale (to me) is that sometimes the weaker opponents can win, due to clever match ups. She got to bake her cake and eat too! I won't kill people and I will win! I'm sure Cavendish won't feel cheated, he must know the risk of this technique.

actually Oda's been doing that since PH. When the Marines encountered the whole crew when Smiley engulfed PH, the Marines labeled it as SHs and Brownbeard, not differentiating between Kinemon. Even an Oda box short after the scene had Brownbeard as separate from the SHs, but Kinemon as part of the group.

It was shown to have weakening walls. Yes, for all intents and purposes, there's enough seastone to prevent a fruit user from just breaking out.

He KNOWS where Luffy is. In the colloseum or leaving it, either way, he knows where he is and what he's doing.

Luffy making a secret quiet escape thanks to the aid of a trecherous minion while having an equally powered twin to stand in for him is NOT something ANYONE could know. Even Luffy didn't.

What do you see Kinemon doing? I can't decide. Either a surprise confrontation with Dofla (doubt it), fighting another named baddie while looking for his friend (this is what I think the most), or he attempts to help Zorro.

I think it's just the bars that are kairoseki, but the walls may be lined with it as well.

The entrance everyone entered through is blocked.

He probably would have smashed out somehow had Bellamy not shown them the way. Doffy would have known right away if that had been the case.

That's not entirely true. He has a crew that he trusts. Even if he takes into account the possibility that they will fail at their duties it's still in his favour to let the Strawhats wear themselves out fighting their way to him through his little army. He was also spending some time until now convincing Fujitora to do the job for him, further increasing his chances. It's precisely because he can't be 100% sure of victory if he does everything himself that he's taking all these precautionary measures, which suggests he is neither underestimating the Strawhats nor overestimating his own abilities.

We don't know for sure, but given people know that Rebecca is a princess we can assume Scarlett. If Kyros was Riku's son, then when he was turned into a toy everyone would have forgotten the prince who had a daughter, and would therefore not see Rebecca as royalty. In order for her to still be royalty her mother, who was not turned into a toy, would need to have been a princess. I figure Kyros was just a famous soldier (statue, hero of the arena, etc) that fell in love with Scarlett and was loved by the people or something. The only question that leaves is why Scarlett and Rebecca were living in the countryside apparently poor. It's a bit of a longshot, but given Kyros was turned into a toy before Doffy took over, it's possible the fact that her husband no longer existed cause some sort of controversy that pushed her out of the castle for a while. I don't know.

You are probably drawing that conclusion because when Riku first appeared as Ricky and the crowd recognized his fighting style everyone assumed it was because he was Kyros. He's not Kyros, so they recognized the King's fighting style, not Kyros'. Rebecca definitely fought differently as well, or at least nobody drew a parallel and instead commented on her specific style.

5: Letting the world know he resigned as a Shichibukai and as King of Dressrosa, drawing the attention of the revolutionaries
6: Being an evil bastard that will get his underground businesses uncovered while sitting cosely next to a marine admiral

That's probably it. It makes sense if Sabo was already a participant in the tournament under a different name, but then took over as Luffy's contestant and explains why he was with the rest of the contestants.

That said, it still boggles my mind how the contestants can "enter" but there's no exit for any of them, and yet the audience seems to be able to leave with no issues whatsoever. How fullproof can being "trapped" in the Coliseum really be? And even ignoring Bellamy leading Luffy out, how difficult would it be to trail a grunt as the grunt leaves the stadium?

He's not an omnipotent reader with the narrator guiding him to these facts. Dwarves haven't been a problem for a decade and he has hostages… and Violet has likewise been loyal.

The actual arena area itself has an entrance different than the audience's, and the exit to that is now blocked.

He had plans to turn powerful pirates to toys either Luffy was in Dressrosa or not. He used Mera Mera to lure them. Remember, when Sai was turned to toy, Trebol said "you guys are power types" I still don't know what he meant by that.

As opposed to, for example, Jora, who defeats enemies without laying a hand on them.

Also, what good could EVER come from:

1: getting a bunch of legendary or strong pirates compete for a devil fruit in one confined space and locking them up and double crossing them.

Monetary intake from the tournament, distracting Luffy, gaining a bunch of toys to add to his workforce, removing significant players from neighbouring countries without anybody being the wiser.

2: saying you won't underestimate an opponent while having clear idea's about what they can or can not do (which, in this case is obviously underestimation)

Having an estimation means he can make appropriate plans. Plans such as luring Luffy into the coliseum and splitting the Strawhats up. I suppose he could have assumed Luffy was far stronger than him and capitulated entirely, but that wouldn't have made much of an arc.

3: Having an underling that is actually part of the previous royal family and hates your guts and that has a gigantic advantage with that devil fruit power of hers

He gets to take advantage of her hax DF while there's no threat, and as he's noted he was well aware of her potential for betrayal, meaning he can use her as a litmus test to figure out some of the nature of any threat that comes his way, as he did this chapter.

4: Exciling a race that is actually really powerful of whom you know they might be planning something in secret and still not caring enough to know anything about them like the underground passage, which, again is underestimation.

As opposed to what? Killing them all? He knows they exist, but that doesn't mean he knows how to find them and round them all up. They're known for hiding and running faster than most humans can see. Besides, they were never exiled; Green Bit is just where they live. Plus if need be he can use the ones he's already captured as leverage against them.

5: Letting the world know he resigned as a Shichibukai and as King of Dressrosa, drawing the attention of the revolutionaries

That all took place in the space of half a day. Even if there was a risk of the RA trying to capitalise on it, it was tiny. Besides we know what good that did for him: he tricked Law and almost undid his plan right there and then.

6: Being an evil bastard that will get his underground businesses uncovered while sitting cosely next to a marine admiral

He gets all the benefits and income of a bunch of high profile contracts in the underground while also enjoying protection from Marine and WG interference.

There are reasons for the things he does. Some of them carry risks, yes, but what doesn't in the world of pirates? You might as well suggests he goes and lives in a cave on a deserted island to alleviate all possible risks.

He DOES have them all covered. 100%.

He doesn't know about their random allies on the island that by all rights they shouldn't have.

He's not an omnipotent reader with the narrator guiding him to these facts. Dwarves haven't been a problem for a decade and he has hostages… and Violet has likewise been loyal.

Law forced him into that one. Has Ceaser hostage. He still got by with only faking his resignation by using his contacts that were even higher up the food chain that even Law knew.

It's all under control at this point, he amnesias the populace a little more with every toy he makes, and the marines are (grudgingly)on his side.

1: The pirates fighting in the coliseum haven't all been turned into toys.
2: the only one he has covered is Franky, of hich he thinks he can't take his executives, which is probably wrong. He thinks Luffy is locked up at the coliseum, has no idea Bellamy is betraying him, he doesn't know there is another way to get to the toy house so he knows nothing about Ussop and Robin. He also doesn't know about Zoro or Kinemon…
The fact that he doesn't know about random allies proves his underestimation once again seeing Mihawk saw this talent with Luffy during the war at Marineford and Doffy clearly didn't.
3: If you excile a race you better believe that's going to come back to bite you in the ass. If you feel to sure about yourself to even notice that you're just plain ignorant and Violet would only be loyal until the time she has another choice. That much should've been obvious.
4: I'll grant you that one. It was indeed laws fault. It doesn't change the fact though, that for Doffy, not a lot of good can come of this.
5: I just believe it's definitely not a good idea to call in the admirals if you know someone's literally coming to destroy and most likely expose your criminal activity, certainly not one with a track record like Luffy...

So either Skarlet or Toy Soldier is Riku's daughter/son and Viola's sister/brother

Problem I have... This would made Toy Soldier (Kyros) a non Riku... but he still has the same fighting style as Rebecca/Riku

Its not the color name that makes me think its Scarlett, its The Soldier's words back in ch 721 when he mentions "your mother's distinguished blood" when talking to Rebecca. Since he was talking about a new king (Doflo) going after "all those great people of the past" I took it to mean Doflo was trying to destroy any connections of the old ruling family including Scarlett.
