Chapter 661: The Lake of Bandits

Sanji has had plenty of epic moments since Thriller Bark up until now. Whine whine whine Kishido, that's all you do when it comes to Sanji. It's like it's your own pride that's hurt when Oda puts the joke on him. He threatened Jinbe and can fly, the dude is awesome!

This was, since the time skip, the only real badass moment Sanji had. And by badass I don't mean giving people mean looks or defending ladies. It's "badass speech Sanji", the voice of reason within the crew.

Enies Lobby, Water 7, Baratie, Thriller Bark. He had countless of cool moments and that was why he was always one of my favorite characters in the series. By far.

Now I would like you to read the rest of the page. The only moment of real badassery destroyed by turning this scene into comic relief. There is nothing wrong with abusing characters for giggles, but especially Fishmen Island overdid it. Hard.

And now we have a Sanji who rages at anyone and anything, even kids these days. This weird rage attitude robs him of his coolness, and this is my biggest problem. Call it character development or whatever you want, but Oda is sacrificing Sanji for storytelling purposes.

Oda pretty much puts Tashigi at the exact spot that she was in Alabasta after teasing us that she would become stronger. Dissapointed.

You still don't get what Jabra and me said. What you said makes him unique… Funny and Cool. But you somehow missed that he is way less cool now but more used for comedy.

Would be like for example Zoro, who has his comedy as well, would be used 80 % of the time as idiot without direction just to have ONE cool moment in the arc.

Quick question about brownbeard.

Why is he on the cold side of PH if his lower side is that of a crocodile?. I don't wanna look to further into it cuz:ninja: its manga. But last time I checked lizards are cold blooded and extreme cold would rend them hopeless, affecting their reaction system and ability to move. Plus he could at least find a fur or something for his lower part…. I understand all the other centaurs no probs; but we might be seeing the first non cold blooded lizard in the worlds history

Franky and Sanji are my least favorite Strawhats only for the fact that they really haven't had much character focus compared to others. I kinda get Franky because he's been with the Strawhats significantly less time than Sanji, but unlike every other Strawhat they both have had only few major character specific moments outside of flashbacks, if even that. Franky is kind of supposed to be based on jokes, I guess, but Sanji, even when he had cool moments it didn't do much for his character and there have been only a few minor moments for Sanji outside of leaving Baratie and the moment in the Post-Marineford arc. It's kind of annoying in general.

I get that many of you don't like it. But he is still Sanji. He get's awesome action moments, occasionally say's something cool, and when hot ladies are around he turns into a goof. Now that he is a victim of circumstance(laws heart switching) you are already crying when nothing happened.

Sanji still has an extremely awesome fighting style, visually it's amazing and contributes a heck of a lot to the crews progression. The only character who rarely get's the comedy thrown in is Zoro. All of you just wan't Sanji to be Zoro, he's not and never will be. This is how Oda wants to portray Sanji. He is smarter than Luffy and Zoro and equally as capable in a fight, only thing is he get's his comic relief more often than Zoro and in a different way than Luffy.

Just like Zoro he offers his life for Luffy and declares eventually he'll cause the Marines the most trouble. Oda usually follows through with statements like that. He didn't get his chance to die, but his intent was fantastic. He goes swimming with mermaids and get's so happy he starts crying, that's awesome! A major nosebleed became a plot point, oh well, it's over now. He tag teams with a war lord and suddenly it appears he's less capable of handling his battles than the rest of the crew? He yells at some kids and everyone hates him? Good, adult men don't need to be too cosy with kids, makes them look like pedophiles.

Personally I love Sanji, though I can see why others would not. As long as he get's his epic moments I could care less about what jokes get played on him. Unlike Usopp and Chopper before the time skip. Their shinning moments were so few and far in between.

Everyone (practically) as AL has haki, since when has it become "too many", it's something people who go to new world are supposed to know of. There is difference between mastery and acquiring, clearly this isn't the case with Tagashi.

Would love to see magellan being himself, he is more extreme than Akainu when it comes to justice, who would people fill the vacant place of 2 admirals? Where are you expecting these powerful marines that Oda didn't introduce at the war? Can't see any of the vice admirals becoming admirals, too weak.

Would love to see kuma, given vegapunks control over him, get a better post than shishibukai, like Akainus own Akainu.

Awesome chapter. Laughed way too hard at Robin's little though a few chapters ago (her and Luffy riding on Zoro and Usopp) coming true. Can't wait to see the effects of the body-switch; maybe it'll happen to the rest of the Strawhats too.

One thing, though: Wasn't Zoro fine in the snow back on Drum Island? Why's he complaining about the cold now?

If I recall correctly he was pretty much shaking from cold on the Drum too. And you never know, mayby it's even colder on Punk Hazard

About the vice admirals being too weak: it's been two years, they could've got much stronger; see Luffy's growth during a few months (starting from his home till the war), he started as a nobody and ended up having 400 millions on his head.

Moreover the new admiral could have a new hax DF: take away the pika pika no mi from Kizaru and he would probably be just Vice Admiral level as well.

Not that much stronger I think. They're probably in their mid-forties (more or less) thus, we shouldn't expect that much of a growth from them.

If you mean that for example one of them got a nice DF two years ago and trained really hard during the time-skip, than that's more likely to cause a relatively big jump in strength.

I feel like Law is a little over powered. I mean, yea he's the surgeon of death, but he's just too good when he has his room. And I know I saw a few people in last weeks thread who said that Haki would affect the room, so whoever said that props to you.
And why is it Brownbeard, and more importantly, why is he half centaur? That really boggled my mind. But oh well, we'll find out.

The three great powers in the world are the Admirals, the Yonkou, and the Shichibukai. A Vice-admiral shouldn't be able to fight equally with any of them imo so I'm glad Law is giving Smoker a run for his money. I'd have like to see more of them fighting though.

Wonder what Magellan is up to now. I hope he made Admiral.

When I saw this Alligator guy and his bounty being 80 million, I immediately thought of Crocodile......and Alligator reminds me of that Brownbeard guy after the war. Interesting to see that the lake was the focal point of Akainu's and Aokiji's fight.

And Brook was bad-ass, saving Luffy and the others, but I was laughing at the panels where Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Robin were freezing....and when they (except Usopp) said they wanted warm clothes in a dark tone. Reminded me of Thriller Bark.

Law's devil fruit has been named! About time! And to think some people were talking about Law controlling Luffy's heart, or whatever nonsense.....and he shambles' Sanji's, Nami's, Chopper's, and Franky's hearts to make them switch.....bodies?! Smoker looked like Crocodile when he warned others to avoid Law's blade.

So yeah, good chapter.

Wow, where to start…

-Hannyabal moved on up, nice. Unfortunately, it looks like his weight shot up with him.
-Brook was awesome, as many have already said.
-Leggy disappeared from Luffy's body in page 5, but comes back in page 10. Then again, that scene in page 5 was already crowded enough.
-Brownbeard's a centaur now (or could've been one since way back in Foodvalten). His crew definitely weren't centaurs, though, so there's that. Wonder what Hawkins is up to...
-Robin looked super hot in page 10.
-Head, Torso and Leggy are all part of the same body, since Head confirms in this chapter that Law is the one who cut him up.
-Body swap should provide some good laughs, especially Nami in Franky's SUPER body (for me, anyway). Unless Sanji wants to be forever despised by Nami, he'll keep his hands from making contact with her body in any way.
-I found it funny how people were decrying Usopp's pop greens last week, but no one batted an eye at how broken Law's fruit turned out to be. Basically, anyone without super Haki is done for once inside the Room. Stay classy, guys.
-Thanks for having Tashigi once again rush into a fight she had no hope of winning, Oda. You really made my day. At least she can put herself (and hopefully Shigure) back together, though…

Amazing chapter, and with his right hand woman cleaved in two, I'm sure Smoker's not going to be too pleased. Next week shall bring even more greatness...

Just read the new chapter, and I have to say I greatly enjoyed it. These past few chapters have been amazing, and have made up for the letdown that the Fishman Island arc turned out to be.

It seems Law is more of an antagonist this time around (not that he ever was on his Luffy's side–during Saboady he was fighting for himself, and he later rescued Luffy from Marineford for his own unexplained reasons, if I'm correct,) and I'm intrigued as to what his real connection to the facility and the strange smog/smoke character referred to by the suited sheep-men as "Master" is.

All together, the action scenes so far have been awesome. I'm glad to have seen the return of Strong Right and Weapons Left, and to see Law's fruit in action once more, even it is starting to seem kinda hax.

I don't really mind the body switch, even though it is a plotpoint I'm tired of seeing on account being everywhere, and I find it to be rather hilarious. Not sure if they'll be able to really fight properly still, since they won't be used to the body and won't know how to properly use the fighting style each body is respectively conditioned to.

tl;dr-- Great chapter. Can't wait for the next one. Law is even better than ever.<3

Awesome chapter.Switching bodies usually suck because its quite hard to do it well.But i'm sure we will LOL quite a lot next few weeks with body switched characters.

Law is just powerfull.I really want to see Law vs Zoro while Tashigi is watching so she can see how she still needs more training.

I think Brook , Buggy and Robin has can counter his ability.

Also anyone that can move fast enough to avoid his slashes and move in/out of the room can beat him imo.

Really enjoyed this chapter. Brownbeard returning was nice and it was fun bonus to finally see his exact bounty and how much it's over 80,000,000. :P Not sure yet what to think of the body switch thing but in any case it's really cool to see Law and Smoker in action.

so tashigi and smoker have haki (if tashigi does like hell smoker doesnt) and smoker pretty much confirmed that haki could affect law's room, brooke's a boss, SHP can effectively catch cold and aren't against sharing clothes. I liked law's powers alot the only thing i found weird was how he "changed" their hearts, or more likely souls… either way i'll take it, better than i could've hoped for. There's Oda for you.
