I'm quiiiiiiiite sure the average that Sanji will get is not even close to the general Arlong Park consensus about his current character, lol. Like, his average right now is probably close to being the highest?
Take into acount I don't even dislike him, even less hate him, but straight 4,5's / 5's from one of the (if not THE) most controversial SH? Weeeird.
Well, let's do this:
Love: His brains during crucial, dramatic moments; his suave, ladies man beginnings; even when he says he only cares for the ladies, when push comes to shove he actualy stands for all the crew (like when he clashed with Dofla of all people in order to protect his crewmates), and is even willing to sacrifice his dreams and his own life for his captain.
I love his fighting style, and he's had some extremely cool, stand-out segments (he absolutely owned the entire Sea Train section all by himself, for example).
Loathe: His love for women is borderline mysoginist, like he considers them so weak they can't defend themselves. In a world where girls like Boa Hancock, Perona or Big Mom, who could exterminate entire pirate crews by themselves, are running wild, the thought that you're not going to defend yourselve if you cross their paths is not only stupid, but it's also offensive, sexist and a massive show of dissrespect not only to these strong women, but his fucking crewmates Nami and Robin, both strong women on their own right.
Also, as I said, what started being a suave approach to the typical ladies man derived into a parody of freaking Kame Sennin in the worst possible way, turning him into a creepy, hideous bubbling idiot everytime he crosses a pretty girl, bordering on uncomfortable behaviour at best. I thought his encounter with Viola, where he was slightly corresponded by her in some way, could have the potential to change his behaviour a bit, but since Oda cut their relationship when we were getting somewhere good, I doubt it's ever going to happen (in fact, his comment to Momo that "they (DD family) probably treat their hostages pretty good" while making the creepiest of faces ever in such a serious situation was quite telling. . .).
I don't quite care about his jobbing lately (at least he had the guts to face the strongest foes of the last two arcs) or his gags where he only cares about Nami and Robin out of the entire crew cause, as I said, when things get sour he actualy stands for all his comrades.
Overall, 3/5. I'd give him a 3.5, but he's been getting big enough rates already. . .
