      @auem:

      Since ninja world is in peace they passed the mettle on new generation..Sakura wears apron over her usual dress..going by the databook IV Ino too went on improving her skill..

      True, but it doesn't stop her from being a medic. Even during times of peace people get hurt or ill. I didn't know about Ino. I actually don't know much about the fourth databook, but thanks for the info.

      And I could still see Temari doing something else. Anything other than being a housewife.

      Oh. That was… weird. The randomness wasn't that irky, it was actually funny, although most of the kids have bad designs. Really bad. Chocho and Salada (lol) seem to be the only saving graces design-wise.

      On the other hand, I've always hated SasuSaku. Always. The worst thing was that I've also been sure all the time that they would hook up, and they did. At least I was mentally prepared.

      Tenten's end wasn't so bad. Think about it, at least she is a businesswoman, albeit an unsuccesful one. It's definitely better than being the most hardcore female ninja in her teens, Temari, and then moving permanently in the kitchen. Oh, and Sakura, a medic, a person who should have a very high rank in society and receive a lot of respect... has also moved in the kitchen. Yay.

      It's kind of sad that among all the random pairings, LeeTen doesn't have its place. They made some sort of sense... But that could just be my having translated Springtime of Youth into the original story (that spin-off is everything good in the world).

      All in all, this ending is better than the biggest part of the war. It would have sucked had the series kept the quality it had back during Part I, but now it feels decent.

      Poor Ulq, he was inconsistent in both design _and_ personality. That's quite the achievement.

    • RE: Best & Worse Fights in One Piece

      @Ordinary:

      Wasn’t Kalifa defeated by shooting a lightning bolt through her torso? Seemed brutal enough, though non physical violence is probably not seen as that bad.

      lmao, Zoro winning is plenty questionable already.

      It was brutal, although not on par with Kumadori being crushed by Monster Chopper or Fukuro and Franky going through an ol' boxing match. And the most important thing is that Nami, non-physical, long-ranged fighter, was more brutal than Kalifa, superhuman assassin martial artist.

      Yes, it was questionable lol. But it had some emotional weight to it, it proved that Zoro was finally acknowledging Robin as a member of the crew. On the other hand, I was totally team Kaku.

      Nightmare Luffy shouldn't have existed, all of it screamed asspull. Zoro vs Ms. Monday was also rather difficult for me to watch/read, especially because it is (in my opinion, of course) the starting point for Badass McSmug Zoro.

      On top of that, kinda big Nami vs Kalifa rant inside the spoiler tags:

      ! Kalifa wasn't particularly interesting as Iceburg's secretary. My love for her began when she revealed her true colors. What a short-live love it was, and an emotional rollercoaster to boot. Yay for the very first female master in martial arts. Oh noes, she isn't as strong as I had thought, her doriki is much lower than even Fukuro's. Yay she is still superhuman. You guys have to understand: Kalifa was a first. We had had other powerful women, such as Robin and Paula, but they were only so because of their fruits. Ms. Monday boasted about being a physical powerhouse, but then the uncomfortable fight against Zoro happened. Kureha was, in the few chapters which starred/featured her, what Tsunade should have been personality-wise but she wasn't a combatant at heart and I could totally see her being nerfed because damn dem wimmenz.
      Kalifa, however, was acknowledged by Sanji during their "fight". You know, Sanji, that guy almost equal in power to Zoro, that guy who is dead-set on acknowledging a woman's beauty rather than her physical prowess.
      He would have stomped her had he been serious, but he had respect for her abilities. Too bad Oda didn't.
      The fruit-eating was somewhere between yay and oh noes. For one, I wanted her to be at least on par with the likes of Fukuro. However, it would have meant yet another woman being powerful because of something she had just got as a gift of sorts, not through intense training. But the fruit made her less powerful. Her whip was nowhere to be seen, we could only get fugitive glimpses of a Rankyaku or Soru (and oh wow, a variation of Shigan!) and she was turned from exact to the point of fault and rational person to a dumb blonde. The only good thing was that she had mastered her fruit in such a short time that her fighting genius vibe came out once again.
      ! I dare say that Oda gave her such a ridiculously low power level just because Nami had to fight someone, and she had to fight another woman. Or at least a man that didn't look much like one (Kotori). It was a good showing for Nami: she withstood being largely unable to move, taking a Shigan to the shoulder being kicked around, and she still won. But Kalifa… had a loss too shameful to be expressed in words. Franky vs Fukuro was brutal. Chopper vs Kumadori was glorious. Zoro vs Kaku made you question whether you actually wanted Zoro to win. Sanji vs Jabra was good, and it ended with the most epic line in the entire series. Luffy vs Lucci was astonishing. How come the only bad fights (Sanji vs Kalifa, Nami vs Kalifa) had this poor, too weak for Sanji, too strong for Nami woman? Couldn't she have fought Robin if a designated cat fight was oh so necessary? Robin was, you know, right at the middle of the food chain.
      My disappointments towards the fight are those of everyone else, but my greatest disappointment comes from destroying Kalifa's potential. Damn, she seemed more competent during CP9's cover story.

    • RE: Chapter 755: World of Men

      The entire Franky scene felt fillerish. Not to mention the unfortunate implications, but there are not too many things to say about that, just that it was sexist to both men and women - most likely because Oda wanted to. At least it wasn't during a serious moment, like Zoro vs Monet, when Robin got hit by Enel's lightning, that one time in Little Garden when Usopp told Nami to shut up because she wouldn't understand a man's… honor, I think.

      But it was bad. Kyuin (?) appeared with her vacuum cleaner. Sure it was threatening for the dwarves, but who could take her seriously after that? Had her presence ended when she hit heads with Pink, it wouldn't have been that problematic. But she was there to stay for a little longer while. The kissing scene (OOC Franky is NOT serious business) could maybe hold some tongue-in-cheek meaning: this is the only truly, completely confirmed kiss. Sanji and Viola did it, too, but it was more subtle and they didn't state that their lips touched. And this 'first' kiss is between a just-introduced villainous character who didn't expect to be kissed, nor was she too nice to Franky before it happened so it could have been a joke of sorts towards those fans who were waiting for two characters to kiss.
      At least that would explain something, yet I'm not sure Oda actually has an explanation for that other than Mansherry being the only important thing he wanted to introduce this week, so he filled the remaining pages with OOC weirdness.

    • RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2

      Maybe there is a way to 'put Haki to sleep' if one can awaken it. This would explain the likes of Crocodile and Moria, knowledgeable and middle-aged men who used to challenge Emperors lacking Haki as of now. Coby had his awake after the traumatic event of being nearly killed by Akainu. What if a just as traumatic (or even more traumatic) situation is what it takes for a character to lose this ability? (Although yeah, it's more likely just some inconsistency/emphasis on Moria's laziness.)

      Sad Law is the best Law. One of the few times I actually felt for him. Zoro vs Pica was the thing I've been waiting for, though, and if this isn't an actual, complete fight, I'll go nuts.
      Law's flashback is finally drawing near, so hooray and let's hope it is less rushed than the one Kyros had.

    • RE: Who would You Join?

      I'd join the Shandians. They are pretty much the only fighting force (apat from Gan Fall) that can defend Skypiea so I'd go give them a helping hand. Their weapons and means of transport are extra cool and maybe I could do some research and find a way to awake my Mantra.
