Hm, soldier dock? Giant robot mode anyone? And it was predicted that Luffy would take out so many people with his hockey. Still cool though.
Chapter 634: "100.000 vs. 10" - Discussion

-
This is my favourite chapter since the time skip. Really had everything. Luffy gettin an example across using meat, haha and he will fucking have that meat because he's a badass. He's really set on becoming the greatest pirate, even through character.
-
Oh man we'll finally see a real life transformer sunny!
My dream will be a reality!
-
Soldier Dock :D Gotta say I'm pumped!!!
Luffy's haki was sick. Interesting how most of the crew was just like "o yeah, haki. I know what that is" there should have been at least one crewmate that was just like "HOLY FUCKING SHIT WTF IS THAT OMGLKDJSDLKJASDLAJPENISLAJDKSJLDH"
-
I am disappointed that Chopper, Nami and Usopp are still the "weakling trio" URGHH. And Nami's weather techniques are perfect to battle large groups so I don't get why she's in the battle dog.
Anyway this proves that Zoro & Sanji are well versed in haki. I don't know if I want both of them to have CoC haki. Rayleigh had it even though he wasn't captain so I wouldn't be shocked if Zoro has it (I mean he's already had an intimidating aura since he was first introduced). But if Zoro has CoC then I want Sanji to have it tooooooo.
-
That was absolutely beautiful. Loose ends tied. Luffy is funny and awesome. I love the colorspread.
For me best chapter since the final chapter of the flashback(626). -
I just love how Luffy acted about being treated as the hero. Luffy owns so hard:wub::wub::wub:
-
he has always been like that though, just never said it outright.
has he EVER fought for the people? no, he has only ever fought for one person if a reason at all. In East Blue it was always for the new crewmate. In Arabasta it was because of Vivi, in Skypiea it was for the gold, in water 7 Robin, then Ace and now for his crew
he has never wanted a towns appreciation. hell think back to buggy arc, he loved running away as villian. in water 7 he never asked for forgiveness of the people, in arabasta he was still fugitive hiding in palace. ect. he has never wanted the love of the people. he does what he wants (FREEDOM) helps who he wants (FREEDOM) and takes what he wants (FREEDOM).
Putting it like that, I think it makes sense. Thanks. I guess the whole time, this personality is there, but it's subtle and every now and again it becomes apparent.

Chapter 634 by MS is out for those who wants better quality.

Awesome Chapter!!! Awesome Arc!!! Screw the Naruto and Bleach haters who criticized post time skip chapters. This chapter changed EVERYTHING!!! Take your Time Oda and Continue to deliver us genius writing : )

Huh ?
Think Urogue means Drum Island's cover page.
Awesome chapter.

Their bickering is meaningless now; Oda's done toying around. All kinds of series have timeskips, though, they shouldn't get so asspained that ours is infinitely better.

Kureha .

So will we ever have a scene with Luffy denying a group of starving townspeople food so he can eat it himself?

Usopp isn't in the weakling trio he only wants to shoot "somepeople" with the new weapon. Nami and chopper we're the ones hiding. I can't see Zoro with kings haki it totally goes againts his charcter. Him and Mihawk are known for their violence not their presence. No matter how strong he get's i see him dealing with his weaker opponents by beating them up. Since that's whats he's good at.

I fully disagree with the previous statement.

Just loved this Chapter. Thank you Oda for an awesome chapter.
-
It DOES look like they'll be a new chapter next week!
And this chapter was the best of the series, hands down.

why do you say that?

Luffy and his hero policy, haki ownage and all the other action… Glorious. And this page makes a wonderful wallpaper.

No matter how strong Nami gets, she really doesn't like fighting or getting her hands dirty. I like the reaction of every character in this chapter, even Nami despite hiding doesn't seem intimidated by the enemy at all–none of them do.
-
jizzed in my pant from just the title…
-
So will we ever have a scene with Luffy denying a group of starving townspeople food so he can eat it himself?
He would just give them the fruit, bread and vegetables. Luffy is a Man that lives off meat.
-
Huh…was that a translation error? http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/634/10
Arlong Killed? Madness!
I really liked this chapter. Luffy does have an interesting outlook on life lol. And now that things are picking up it's kinda cool to see theories proven or debunked. The Luffy using Haki on the fodder, and at least Robin, Zoro and Sanji knowing about it. Good stuff.
-
I fully disagree with the previous statement.
They're both known for their killing intent ie their intent to kick the living day lights out of people. Shanks and Luffy aren't nearly as menacing as them. Mihawk hasen't been known to stop someone with just his presence. Like Rayleigh, Ace, Luffy and shanks.
Mihawk doesn't have a presence like that. Even during the war Luffy had more of a presence than Mihawk. No one even noticed Mihawk unless he was doing some incridble stuntl. Where as all Garp had to do was show himself for everyone to start shaking in his boots. Even Boa commands the scene when she's shown.
-
sigh If people still want to believe in Shirahoshi and Jimbe, go ahead. The odds are next to zero now
-

Not to mention that operating the ship's weapons is Usopp's job as marksman, though i much rather see his own skills. Chopper also just seemed to want to get in the weapon to see what it could do, I am surprised Luffy didn't jump in as well, the way he gets.

You do realize he's called "Hawk-Eye" for a reason … it just takes a look from this guy to get people to shit in their pants.
Same goes for Zoro. There's been plenty of times he's said to have a "demon's" aura and to show massive killing intent in an instant. I'd say his presence is far more terrifying than Luffy's.That aside, I love this chapter so much, except for the fact that the end was one of the most dastardly evil cockteases I have experienced. And then I found out there's no chapter next week and it sucked even more.

Arlong Killed?
http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/34376629/11
Yep, error
-
He is called Hawk-eyes because his eyes zoom in on and scan a battlefield for targets without hurting anyone else.
-
There's a proper translation in the first post of this thread for a reason. Neither of those sites are particularly reliable.
-
Jimbe's interactions with Luffy are awesome! Putting priority over naming a strategy?! He is totally serious, but that is what makes it so funny! The one thing people hated about him so long ago just made him hilarious. As far as future SH banter goes, he and Sanji will have a good time planning things out. We will have an even better time when Sanji is pissed at him for spending too much time on trying to think of clever names for their exploits.
Jinbe is impressed with Luffy's Haki. All that needs to be said.
Papag must have found the sword and just given it to Zoro. He did just say he saved them. Chances are that is all we'll see or hear of it now. Good.
Most importantly for you "no haki for anyone but Luffy" naysayers. At this point not only could Sanji name the exact type of Haki it was, but he and zoro were relaxed about Luffy revealing it. They have Haki, surely not to the extent of Luffy, but at this point they have some use of it.
-
Epic chapter! love the way that Zeo always got ignored while talking his epic lines
and LOL at brook at the cover page. The only thing that disappoint me is Zoro, this chapter confirms that pappug really saved them. lol
-
LOL I just found Brooke hanging in Shirahoshi's bra strap in the color page rofl. Too much awesome for one chapter.
-
LOL I just found Brooke hanging in Shirahoshi's bra strap in the color page rofl. Too much awesome for one chapter.
Gotta love a chapter that starts with Brook in a glorious position, and ends with Usopp in a glorious position.
Oda, you magnificent bastard.
-
The Sunny will transform into something like this lol
Great chapter, don't want to wait 2 weeks :(
-
Zoro : "If he couldn't do at least this much, we'd have found a new captain."
-
I love this chapter.
I love One Piece.
-
The Sunny is going to turn into a dog I guess. :ermm:
-
(And just fuel for the nakamate wars, it's 10v100k lol).
Yeah. The title is what sealed the deal for me that Jinbe will be joining. And I'm ecstatic.
His interactions with the crew are great. His and Luffy's discussion was amazing. Had me in stitches.Everyone knows that the crew needs a fishman. Whenever they get attacked on the sea, they're always at a disadvantage. Even with Sunny's weapons.
So I don't know why everyone is resistant to Jinbe. He's the only fishman who has been introduced that is actually in the position to join and is strong enough too. Also, it's really apparent that Oda getting sick messed up his schedule. There was obviously supposed to be one more chapter after this before the break. And knowing Oda and his love for big endings before breaks, the next chapter is going to end with the Noah getting ready to smash the island. That would have been the ending we sat on for two weeks.
Callin it now. -
Jinbe got a new face:
I think Oda wants him to join :D
-
Brook, Zoro, and Franky make that colorspread great.
10,000 vs 10.
JinbePappug is so joining the crew.Like the confirmation of Jinbe's plan, though this could've easily been done without Luffy and Jinbe fighting. It did explain the essence of Fishman Karate so I guess it wasn't pointless.
I love Luffy's explanation of not wanting to be a hero. Luffy does "heroic" things from time to time, but he's selfish at heart. I really hope that this doesn't change, and he only keeps fighting for selfish reasons.
Pacifying Luffy with promises of meat. That's great.
I'm glad that the scene where Sanji and co. got Zoro and co. was skipped. Only tiny gripe is that means we still don't get to know yet where Ryugu Palace is in the kingdom, but that's irrelevant to the bigger picture I guess. The whole scene would've been transition.
Glad Hody is taking that attack well. Was half expecting him to still be wincing in pain.
Oh Zeo. It's so hard to take you seriously.
Hody's plan makes sense. He really seems dead set on making this a "kingdom" instead of just taking his forces out like a pirate crew. The whole "Pirate King" thing though at first seemed a bit awkward to me, but it makes sense given he's explaining to Luffy his control over so many pirates.
Glad Zoro's line directly references the fact that this 100,000 is different from the forces of Marineford. Really shows they're in a different league.
Robin, Zoro, and Luffy all know about haki now. It also shows Jinbe being shocked while Sanji and Zoro act like it's expected. Hmmm.
And I think Shirahoshi's heart is pounding for all those harem supporters out there.:wub:Goggles Franky!
Mechas are coming! Oda has been wanting to draw mechas for awhile now. I think it's a fair trade off to not seeing those four fight hand to hand. Can't wait to see them, in two weeks.
-
Maybe I was jumping the shark a bit (Pun not intended)
But personal interpretation or not. COME ON, seriously? Are people really going to eschew this statement so much? Its almost 100%
Shirahoshi HAS TO STAY with her people to spread the good feeling. Shes key in recovering their hearts
Jimbe stated he needs to protect her. There is no way around it. Maybe Jimbe is the one to lead Shirahoshi
You need to read Aohige's translation. You're putting too much into that "let me protect it from now on" business.
"We're not doing this to neglect your past years… please, it's our turn to protect that "seed" of yours you protected day after day, all by yourself"
-
I really loved this chapter, Luffy's ways of life are just epic, see thats what makes him different from other heros, he doesn't want to be a hero and put foot over any thingXD The interactions between the crew was too funny, missed that soo much. Luffy taking out that many easy was just so epic, your awesome Luffy! One of my favorite chapters, thanks for that Oda
-
@ultimateclima:
And I think Shirahoshi's heart is pounding for all those harem supporters out there.
Lol I like the way you think. It's too bad luffy's probably a one woman type of guy.
-
Luffy's "I don't want to be a hero; I'd have to share!" line pretty much summarizes what I love about this series.
I'm actually not too keen on the idea of Jinbei joining the crew, mainly because I'm not sure what he brings to the crew other than his fighting abilities. Everyone else on the crew has a role beyond their abilities as fighters, but I'm not sure what Jinbei's would be.
Then again, I didn't like Brook that much when he first joined, then he popped out of nowhere with that bag of salt in a Big Damn Heroes moment and I fell in love, so who knows? (I also wound up loving his crazy-ass laugh – in the anime, he sounds like he's high on crack.)
-
Who's the fool that translated 'dock' as 'dog' in the spoilers.
Soldier Dog, lol.
The fool would be me, and I take no blame for it. :ninja:
The spoiler picture said so, which could be the Jump publication mistake. (or simply a small blurry pic)
Editors make mistake too, you know. And your avatar is to blame. Dawg.
Check the bottom right.
Perhaps they'll fix it in the tankobon volume.
-
Everyone else on the crew has a role beyond their abilities as fighters, but I'm not sure what Jinbei's would be.
Not the topic for extensive discussion on the matter, but… underwater specialist. Just about anything that needs to be done below the surface, he'll handle it. I could see his position being "underwater combatant" in the volume-opening summaries as Zoro's is "combatant".
-
Haha it does say "doggu" .
