      @algebro:

      These last few chapters have been really good, and I'm not worried about this king succession arc being entertaining anymore. The fighting has already started, its just mostly covert. I loved that queen wasn't useless and immediately picked up on ways she could help assist. And Kurapika having to play everything by ear because he is at a major disadvantage with the weakest prince/queen combo is interesting considering hes probably the strongest person in the conflict right now.

      I guess I just don't understand what's so boring about these last chapters. Though I guess part of it is an apparent aversion to a lot of reading in a manga chapter.

      From the comments I read, many who dislike it are more than willing to read but in return expect HxH to have some relevant philosophical points. It is still a shonen written by the YuYu Hakusho guy. It has some really cool stuff but there is also some flaws that should be overlooked to really enjoy it. JJBA is a great comparison because of how Araki constantly brings up shit that is immediately contradicted, "they are called stands because they stand beside you" then Joseph grows vines out of his arm. I find all this dialogue to be part of the ridiculous charm and it is kind of what kurapiks is built for, none of the other main chars would bother with all this internal monologue.

      Bill is my hero yet again, this team of 4 is getting very cool. Unfortunately 4th prince has nen soldiers so he won't need Kurapika's "training" offer. Good try though.

      Its because he is in so many pockets at this point yet is still sticking with the prince. As for the temp hunter thing, I was under the impression that pretty much all of Pariston's plants were temp hunters, I feel most of the normal hunters on the journey would be working with the Zodiacs. Ah, there are too many moving parts.

      Anyways, killing Bill at this point is kind of pointless, Kurapika is most fun when he has people to order around and have convoluted dialogue with. Kurapika still has living members of his old bodyguard group around afterall.

      Speaking of princes dying, what do you think the chances of the other young princes with little to no nen-users are at surviving Benjamin's assassins?

      Poor Bill, what sort of life has he had to be loyal to Beyond Netero on this death trip the the Dark Continent, loyal to Pariston who sent tons of temp hunters like him to their deaths in the election arc and now Kurapika despite most of his group's death within mere days of departure? I know we know little to nothing about the guy and that he has a throwaway name, but I am really starting to like him a lot just for rolling with the punches.

      @Fuka-chan~:

      Do you think he came up with the succession war plot during the hiatus before the DC arc started or was this something he had planned for a while?

      I can tell he started writing the CA arc when he really got into Parasyte because it follows a lot of the same thematic elements, I wonder what was the hiatus inspiration for this arc.

      I don't know the guy, but I visualize him as the type who writes all his plans on sticky notes, loses some sticky notes, rewrites some with slight differences, loses more, rewrites more, swaps order by accident and so on. Basically, I think he has come up with the plot many times based on the based on the personality we see in the author's notes and narration. Whereas we have seen Oda's over-the-top organization with all the notebooks. I definitely think he has been planning a Kurapika focused arc ever since he got more into the more cerebral CA characters like Morel, Killua provides some of that, but he still tends to handle things through violence. Also look at how many missing pieces were left of Pika's goal the last time we saw them, he definitely had some plans, he just needed to combine them and get rid of the more combat oriented Gon and Killua somehow.

      Togashi is hard to read as a person because nobody is the same person they were 20 years ago and the spouts of Hiatus make the shifts in tone and personality hard to predict.

    • RE: Pokken Tournament (pokemon fighting game)

      Wow, that is awesome. I lost interest in this game because it didn't use a whole lot of unexpected Pokémon and subbed in familiar Pokémon in unfamiliar roles. Choosing the first stage was even more unexpected. Does Croagunk hold some sort of anime significance?

      I was a conjurer, not surprising. My personality is between Conj and Manipulator. Put a lot of thought to it at one point and decided I would conjure a backpack with multiple functions including a transmuting pocket that destroys the object inside (e.g. rubber ball) and gives that to one's aura for 5 mins (allows one to bounce following a fall), the main pocket would function in a similar manner to Owl's power. In the HxH universe it seems better to have utility and stay out of trouble or you end up like Pockle.

      I always enjoy reading other's ideas, there is a lot of room for creativity in this universe.

      I am legitimately pumped for more chapters of set up dialog. These last 10 chaps of everyone having their own agendas have been awesome, I would say I cannot wait for more, but I already did. Things are gonna get crazy with the princes once they board the ship, I hope we get to meet each a bit in the upcoming chapters, the Zodiac planning looks mostly done.

      Even if it did, Bakugou's personality is so completely different than Sasuke that the results would be entirely different. I am more than willing to bet that the villains assuming Bakugou would join them would just piss him off. Besides, we just had an arc that turned Bakugou's attitude around a bit. Had Deku and Bakugou failed the test against AM, I would see this as more of a possibility.

    • RE: Ultimate Time-Line of the Grandline (Updated Mar, 2012)

      I think I have some info that may help clarify matters in regards to the date of the tea party. In chapter 651 (p.16-17), when Luffy picks up the den den mushi and talks to Big Mom, Tamago takes it from him and proposes they push the date back two weeks in exchange for treasure from Luffy. The reason Tamago stated for the two week delay is that is when he would be able to bring her sweets. I interpreted this to infer that the FI factory would be able to be repaired and meet its quota in 14 days. BM's acid overflow thinking about the FI sweets combined with Tamago's suggestion of the sweets suggested that the FI sweets were the main item at the party and that it could not occur without them. Therefore, when BM decided to turn her wrath towards Luffy, she indirectly gave the go ahead for the tea party once FI was ready.

      Since FI needed 14 days from day 1, this would mean the party was postponed to either day 14 or 15 depending on how they interpreted it. So Sanji would either be getting married today or tomorrow.

      Sure, I am just interpreting the translation and reading between the lines, but I think this makes the most sense since the Tea Party seemed to be something specific their deal with FI, they could have deals with other islands but they probably supply other items… like tea and cake(okay I guess tea would be the main item then, but still).
