It is funny the food Sanji is serving.
Really disappointed about there being no chapter next week.
Is this the first official confirmation of the correct spelling of 'Jinbe'?
And 'Fisher Tiger' for that matter?
Well, I'm just glad they'll probably stick to the same time in the storyline in the next chapter.
Nice catch.
Hope the guy gets a name soon, he's the only traditional merman in the crew so far.

Green had that as well if I recall corectly.

- So Hodi is 30 years old now? Gotta say he looked… kinda... cute as a 15 years old :ninja:
Damn, no chapter next week :(
He looks about 12 to me.
And yeah :(
Aww how nice. One Piece and Naruto side by side…
And for some reason I feel totally proud when I see Lego in ONE PIECE! YAY! Though Sanji looks like a (very stylish) hipster..:ninja:
Damn, Arlong sure has his ways with children….
Hmm... I have no idea about how I'm supposed to feel when I see Teen-Hodi and his gang. For some reason they remind me of our straw-hats but... Not really though... And ouuuh~ Kizaru looks so 70's bad cop! Heh, One piece is probably one of the few things that don't give me a guilt trip for being a smoker... It just makes me feel like a badass (and that's a good thing in my book).
Awesome chapter!
Sad backstory?
Former slave?
Bitchin' sun tattoo on his back?
23 years old.
Koala for nakama.
This chapter was pretty damn good! I didn't think I would enjoy the backstory of Fisher Tiger and Sun Pirates this much, but damn, Fisher is such a badass character! Also, that kid was sad…but creepy as hell...kinda reminded me of the Good Guy Dolls from Child's Play. XD

Aohige said Koala's a girl, so add that.
And I think we know what animal she could be represented by….
A Koala.

If a human can learn/perform Fishman Karate, there's another mark in her favor…
Awesome chapter! Too bad we will have a break next week.
Fisher Tiger is a true hero, Arlong is a bastard, and Jinbe has the choice of which path to choose. This flashback will be amazing, and it will end in tears. I fear bringing that kid home will be the last journey of the Pirates of the Sun.
I agree. It is pretty much forshadowed that Tiger will be killed by the marines. Koala's home island is probably inhabited by humans who won't donate their blood to fishmen. I fear the kid might die while trying to protect his savior and her parents will be pissed.
Yay chapter.
It feels like the track for this arc is coming together now and the ball is starting to roll.
About the CS:
A friend of mine suggested that this CS is a tribute\something to remind about Fukushima, because they`re also building up the region.

You see right, Al!na showed again some of her awesome talent.
Shonen Jump Cover looks like a Shonen Jump tier ranking. Big 3 in top tier, then 6 in tier 2, 6 in tier 3, then about 4 in bottom tier.
It's nice seeing Toriko cemented as a Big 3, at the price of Bleach's demotion, of course.
That kids annoying i have a feeling the kid is going to get them into trouble and as a result arlong will then proceed on getting revenge through nami.
Arlong is not as bad as Macro at the end of the day all his seeking at this point is to protect his saviour even though he may be vicious he is no worse than villians like crocodile, who sought to murderer millions of people and hodi who treats his fellow fishmen like crap to the point of using one as a shield arlong has shown to deeply care about his fellow fishman he is a product of abuse by the humans.
I respect his charcter a bit as most people dont see the only reason he hates the humans is because of what they do to he's own kind. If he was such a bastard how he care about his crew so much, weve seen villans that dont batter an eyelid when there crewmember dies. Not to mention the death of fish Tiger its emotional just nowing its going to happen imagine how it would effect the crew. That there beloved captain who refusd to kill a human was killed by a human i would turn psycotic myself.
I appreciate this chapter solely for finally giving Fisher some character. Also Koala is really heart-breaking. And he's a she? Makes it even more tragic. Oda's so good at executing the teary moments.
The pacing was really off this chapter, hopefully the next one will be less rushed. Also Koala's design struck me as weird and a bit cheesy (and I can't recall a design I really disliked in One Piece apart from Pearl).
That being said, I love Tiger and I've been dreaming of him fighting Kizaru ever since we saw him in Hancock's mini-flashback. This chapter made this irrational wish actually seem realistic! Make it happen, Oda!
@Best:
I wonder why Koala has the same hair type as Calgara… maybe they are somehow related?
Also the people who "bring" her to the sun pirates look a lot like Skypean folks
The best kept secret is evidently a bunch of really horrible theories you should never mention again.

Hey braw, Germany got hit pretty hard by war and depression, I would be a nazi too braw, hell yeah braw.
I like this chapter. It was intersting that everyone misinterpreted Fisher Tiger's intentions when he freed the slaves. If Koala survives the flashback, we'll definitely be seeing her someday. It was touching when she wouldn't cry until Fisher Tiger threw away his gun so it can be assumed that she's not in her slave mindstate anymore (inhe present timeline I mean). Poor Otohime not getting anywhere with her petition. I noticed that one of the years she mentioned of if it was pointless was 15 years in the furure (as in the very present).
Too bad Fisher Tiger neer met Monkey D. Dragon. They would have gotten along great.
I wonder how Koala ended up in slavery anyway.
What if her parents sold her to the nobles and she doesn't realize it? I hope it's not true but it would also be a gut-wrenching plot point. IRL desperate & starving families often sold their children to slavery.
So, now some points i wanted to point out in that chapter:
Rly good to see that (mainly just Hodi) get a bit more their character fleshed out.
That marine guy with the long hair and on top his cap..lol
Borsalino rly looks there even more badass as when he appeared at Shabondy(even when his actions there were üproving enough)
I like the inner dilemma Fisher Tiger has..even as the hero and the one who guids the others he is aware of the fact that he has to struggle not to get the same thinking finally engraved in his mind.
The whole expierence he gathered about humans on his adventures sure made it rly hard for him to stay with his ideology and he rly has to force himself to stay with his ideology.
The panel with Koala standing before the fishman is just awesome in my eyes..
http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/35896723/16
Koala is kind of creepy, but her permanent smiling and happy face shows us how those slaves were internal broken by the celestrial dragons.
Rly hard to imagine what those people were doing to those slaves mentally, that they ended like that.(and this child has already 3 years behind his escaping..shows that it`s still all deep inside of her)
Rly intense scene in the end..brought me tears in my eyes.
- Spelling of Jinbe confirmed. His initial bounty fell 1 million short of Sanji's (and 3 short of Robin's), which makes me wonder if there's any possible importance to that.
Inflation?
Page 14.. Is that the sexy foxy?

Kizaru better not be the one to take down the hero, Fisher Tiger. It would be too sad. But if he does, then I hope that he becomes an admiral as a result of that.
@Mr.:
I wonder how Koala ended up in slavery anyway.
What if her parents sold her to the tenryubitto and she doesn't realize it? i hope it's not true but it would also be a gut-wrenching plot point.
It seems possible and would justify why they would not help tiger.
Personal note: Oda seems to love Macdonalds. Maybe there are no good cooks at his office and he has to rely on junk food because he has a tight schedule. its not good for his health and he is also a smoker.
It is really important to be a good cook in order to be at full strenght.
Kizaru looks great, and Hodi and co. looks cooler as kids. Fisher Tiger is my new idol now.
And I love Tiger and his ideals. Maybe being a pirate wasn't he best idea for enforcing them, but it still shows that he has good intentions for freedom no matter who you are. Pirates are shunned, but the freest of any kind of person!
He and Luffy woulda gotten along.
I don't mean to pick on you, but I couldn't disagree more. Luffy would kick Fisher Tiger's ass.
People seem to be missing the point here. Nearly every action of Fisher Tiger and the Sun pirates after the slave rebellion has actively hurt his own goals of freedom for fishmen.
By using violence to promote his cause he is inviting the same backlash against Fishmen as Arlong would by slaughtering people. By engaging any Marine ship that comes in their range, he is threatening the WG stability. It doesn't matter that he isn't killing anyone, his level of power is so great that they will be forced to use extreme force against him. This heightening of tension could potentially lead to the complete annulment of the peace treaty between Fishman Island and the WG, which would then lead to the genocide of the entire fishman/merman race. Heck, all the marines have to do is cut down the Tree of Eve to kill the light and food supply for FI, and announce open season on any fishmen or merman who reach the surface.
That violence also inspires the next generation to forgo any peaceful alternative. If violence is the solution to repression and humans are the enemy, then of course the NFP are going to take that to the next step. Tiger's example as a role model is explicitly to blame for Hodi's actions at the present.
Fisher Tiger's half assed blend of limited violence for a revolution is self defeating. Revolutions only end in two ways: peaceful reconciliation or complete annihilation of one side. Fisher Tiger's actions are making peaceful reconciliation impossible, which only leaves alternative #2. Otohime and Arlong both recognize this fact, but Tiger can not. In so doing, he is destroying his own dream, for which Luffy would kick his ass.
Fuck you, Oda. Because of you I had tears in my eyes. You always do this, damn you. Why can't you be like Kubo? No emotions, no plot, no characters. Learn from this man!
Koala's story, even after only these few pages, looks to me as sadder than the stories of Straw Hats…
I just finally read the whole chapter and here's some of my personal thoughts. I honestly thought koala was pretty damn creepy, seeing him come back from fainting just smiling weirded me out more but I can understand the way he's acting as he probably was raised to do as he said, always smile and continue to do what you're told no matter what. God damn you, Oda. Stop using kids with heart rendering stories.
I'm loving Tiger more and more as he knows not to stoop to the level of just killing humans purely based off of revenge to bring fear to all humans. And it was pretty fucking awesome to see Alrong get his shit slapped by Jinbei, he fucking deserves 100 million of them for the stunt he pulled at Cocoyashi. It's going to be pretty sad to see Queen Otohime and Tiger die. Especially since we don't actually know how Otohime dies and we know both of them doesn't like the murdering of humans.
@Aru:

Then we wouldn't even be this far in or probably wouldn't have such awesome characters.
hello this is my first post in this forum(i have an account about 3 years before but for some reason i can't post i don't know why so i made a new one).
The reason i believe Oda showed Kizaru on this chapter is because he will be the one or responsible with some other about Fisher Tiger's death. As seen back at SA he told Rayliegh that he couldn't let the SH to espace because he couldn't go back to Marijoa and that the Celestial Dragons would be upset,so i think it's a foreshadow from Oda that when something happens and the tenryubito are involed he "clean up the job" so the possibilities of Kizaru beatin down Fisher are high
Fisher Tiger is a great character already and the color spread was cool, other than that it was a bit awkward a chapter.
Best part of the chapter was Toriko in the front row.
I guess this chapter proves that Borsalino is the new Fleet Admiral.
The strawberry-banana page kills me every time I look at it.
also i think they are on the same island protected by Whitebeard:Foodvalten.
I don't mean to pick on you, but I couldn't disagree more. Luffy would kick Fisher Tiger's ass.

But why is Otohime ideals any better. Even though they would get peaceful with the government and are part of the reverie, it has no effect on the freedom of the slaves human and fishmen. There are possibly kings connected to the world government that govern some of the human slaves as well. Peaceful reconcilation would free no slaves. Status que would stay. The only way to free the slaves would be through violence. No peaceful reconcilation would free the slaves, and if it would it would it would only free fishmen rather than other slaves from other races, thus against fisher tigers means. How does Otohime ideal save the slaves. And what is behind your logic that peaceful reconcilation would free any slaves.
I don't mean to pick on you, but I couldn't disagree more.
There's no picking on in here, just discussion! So… uhm... go ahead?
I was thinking more in terms of wanting to be free that Luffy and Tiger would have gotten along. Luffy said a while bach here: http://www.mangareader.net/103-2614-9/one-piece/chapter-507.html that the guy with the most freedom in the ocean is the King of the Pirates. He would have loved Tiger for wanting others to be free.
Meanwhile Luffy woulda hated him hard for the violence, but I'm not so sure that it's Tiger to blame for that so much as a combinations of the Marines (giving chase) and his own crew that is becoming more and more violent. Then what FI gets is all secondhand news, probably either encouraged by Fishman papers and called violent by Human papers. The next generation isn't getting all the facts properly and is warped by the media! If Luffy ever had met Tiger, I could see Luffy getting along with Tiger at first for his personality (or maybe just his Hippo shirt…), but then after realizing what his crew is doing would have probably yelled at him about, well, "not doing it right".
And I really like your mention of cutting down the Tree of Eve. I think that'd be a great thing to come up in the future as a plot point. Why hasn't the World Government tried that? Or threatened it a little? Maybe they don't have the ability or something.
I don't mean to pick on you, but I couldn't disagree more. Luffy would kick Fisher Tiger's ass.

Fisher Tiger's plans weren't half assed they were the most effective imo.He had to do something to free his people.Waiting like Otohime was doing wasn't gonna save all those lives. He had to set an example for younger fishfolk that they had as much rights to freedom as Humans do.
I guess this chapter proves that Borsalino is the new Fleet Admiral.

Oda gives us a lot of details, he even drew some shirohige's flags in this page.

This is what I love about Oda, I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out.
Epic last page :(
Well done Oda, you still know how to break my heart.
God this chapter was so awesome.
The only thing that has bugged me is Oda screwing up with Hatchan's age and the fact that we haven't seen an actual fishman slave. Just mermen and humans.
I don't mean to pick on you, but I couldn't disagree more. Luffy would kick Fisher Tiger's ass.

In so doing, he is destroying his own dream, for which Luffy would kick his ass.
So you're basically saying that Tiger is hurting himself in the end by striking out at the "powers that be".
However, Luffy also uses violence to as a correction device for the corrupt and wicked, wouldn't that hurt his goal of protecting his friends if "the corrupt" label him as "evil" and wage vengeance?
I think the basis of your argument is that Tiger has a race of people to protect, so he should do whatever he can to prevent harm. Using violent action for his sense of justice will backfire because he will be perpetuating the idea that fishmen are inherently violent and dangerous. On the other hand, Luffy is a man who keeps his friends close so he can protect them, but hides friendships he can't protect from the public.
But then, what should Tiger do? Support Otohime? Perhaps getting into Reverie will help some public image for FI, but it also lets the WG control them more easily, and possibly make it impossible to achieve racial freedom. Because the WG is not democratic, without voters deciding for themselves what is right or wrong, the WG can just mandate that all deviation from the norm be outcast and shunned, and have fishmen collected together for mass genocide.
The only solution to this problem is to revolt and destroy the government. Fisher Tiger, unfortunately, was unable to do that. I also think Dragon aims for the same goal, but had seen through the consequences of direct violence.
But why is Otohime ideals any better. Even though they get peaceful with the government and are part of the reverie, it has no effect on the freedom of the slaves human and fishmen. There are possibly kings connected to the world government that govern some of the human slaves as well. Peaceful reconcilation would free no slaves. Status que would stay. The only way to free the slaves would be through violence. No peaceful reconcilation would free the slaves, and if it would it would only mean that they would rather use slaves from other races, thus against fisher tigers means.
With reconciliation you make possible a return to the surface and integration with the human population. People who live/work/play together do not view each other as subhumans, which is a prerequisite for the type of slavery practiced by those at the slave auction house.
This kind of cultural shift is the only permanent to end slavery/subjugation of minority populations. Violence may free/revenge some, but they are easily replaced and this hardens the "us vs them" mentality that leads to further retaliation.
If Otohime had succeeded, the fishmen would have moved to the surface, become active members of the World Government, and received the same Marine defense against attack as any other WG nation. It would be a difficult political road to obtain equal treatment, but it is the ONLY road. Instead, fishmen are still ostracized and hated by the public, and the only guard against WG attack was Jinbe's role as a Shichibukai.
@Kisoto:

It's not the violence that would have pissed off Luffy so much as Tiger's abuse of both his own and Otohime's dream.
And you all see where this is going, don't you? At the end of the arc, Luffy will manifest Otohime's dream by destroying Fishman Island. This will force the fishmen to reintegrate with those on the surface whether they want to or not.

You win many, many internets, my good sir.
This chapter was really great.
Tiger's ideals are starting to grow, Kizaru looks epic, Strawberry's hair is insane, Koala freaks me out, and the Straw Hats build LEGO WORLD!
I had to do it, my fujoshi side forced me to :V
I just noticed on page 6 (the page with the Whitebeard flag), mangastream had a fishman call Otohime Princess instead of Queen.
