Just cause Mihawk commented on not fighting Shanks cause he had one hand means that he completely refuses to do so...... Am I only one that sees it as a taunt ?

As to Shanks being stronger than Mihwak : I really think he is...it´s just the overall vibe of the character. He may be the weaker swordsman, but as an overall fighter I´d say he´s better.
Of course, if there´s any hints saying otherwise, I´ll accept them :) (there´s no choice in that case, anyway ;) )Their isn't any vibe of the character?? @Wisshard:I take for granted that Shanks is stronger than Mihawk, simply beacuse Shanks is a Yonkou and Mihawk a Shichibukai. Mihawk may be the greater swordsman (according to his title) and in a strict sword duel, Mihawk would almost certainly come out the winner. But in a fight, Shanks can have a lot of tricks up his sleeve(s) that makes him superior to Mihawk. For one, we know that Shanks has Haōshoku Haki, which quite certainly is useful in a fight…

I'm shocked by the amount of people that didn't recognize Shanks crew from the get-go. And with that I don't mean the guys in the back, but even Yasopp was misplaced.
ANyway, I think if you read the war in one go and don't look at chapters the end won't seem as abrupt as it seems now.
I think Shank's crew has just upped the awesome factor of YOnkou crews by 10. His crew looks fucking Legendary.

Blackbeard has always been an unknown power, Jimbei remarked on it, so did Whitebeard. (And Shanks was worried about Ace facing Blackbeard, not about himself facing Blackbeard)
And titles certainly means something in One Piece, why else would Oda give the Shichibukai such a fearsome reputation, and overtoping them, the Yonkous? Whitebeard was titled "The Strongest Man in the World", did that mean nothing as well? How about Mihawk's "The Strongest Swordsman in the World"?

That was 10+ years ago, and we have no idea how the duels went down. For all we know, Shanks could have pounded Mihawk down in the dirt every time, or the other way around, or Shanks could've been the slight superior etc etc.
Blackbeard was a member of the Shichibukai yes, and during his stay there he most likely weren't strong enough to frighten a Yonkou (if he was strong enough to put fright into a Yonkou, he wouldn't need to hide in Whitebeards shadow for 20 years, waiting till he got 2 DF's).

I understand your line of thought, but do you really think Shanks is relying that much on his crew (which is about 1590 members less than Whitebeard's crew)? When I heard of the Arlong Pirates, I expected Arlong to be strong. When I heard of the Shichibukai, I expected them to be really strong. When I heard of the Admirals, I expected them to be incredible strong and when I heard of the Yonkou's, I expected them to be the strongest. Whitebeard didn't disappoint me.

i don`t think that everyone has a bounty of 100 mille.
they also put there guys who seems to be dangerous ,like rookies without such a high bounty right now or rebels..
also guys who could have betrayed the WG in a mean way could be imprisoned there, without having 100mille as a bounty.
but overall they all should be worth around 100 mille or should at least be as dangerous as such guys. -

This is imo by the worst chapter in the whole war arc. Super anticlimatic ending.
After Ace died i thought ok Whitebeard is gonna sacrifice himself so everyone else can get safely out in the next 1-2 chapters and that's it and imo this would have been a good ending. But instead of ending like that Blackbeard and crew appeared out of the blue and kill WB before his crew can escape. Then i thought ok next chapter Sengoku and the marines will now fully focus on BB and the WB crew can escape but that didn't happen either. Then we had Sengoku saying that they won't let the impel down level 6 escapes loose on the world ever again and that they have to catch them now at all cost. Also BB talking about his age and that he will kill Sengoku and Garp and sink Marineford.
Guess what? Shanks appears and Sengoku let the level 6 escapes loose on the world anyway and BB just gives up trying to kill Garp & Sengoku and sink Marineford and everyone just walks off. So what is this suppossed to tell us? Blackbeard had no problem facing the strongest man in the world Whitebeard plus his crew and legendary marine hero Garp and fleet admiral Sengoku but Shanks appears and he just walks off laughing?So it's Shanks>>>>>>>>> Whitebeard & WBs crew & Garp & Sengoku & marines? -

I'm mainly curious now what comes next. Just read this interview snippet Greg translated where Oda hints he's not just going to do a timeskip, but also change his characters around afterwards, Dragonball-style. We're probably in for a surprise.

I never said it was in case. I was just saying that the Title "youkou" could be the power of your crew and it doesn't automatically mean your more powerful.
So if your making assumtions too. Oda never stated who won those duels, but i don't think it would be a rivalry if it wasn't good fights. If one of them totally outclassed him and never got hits in then it's not a rivalry. Why are you acting like Mihawk has sit on his ass for 10 years??? Even if Shanks got stronger( Databook stated he didn't get any stronger or weaker), Mihawk could have gotten better too. He takes on all challengers. BB is neither a Youkou and he is the last villian according to you. Mihawk is Zoro last villain and Zoro is not weaker then Luffy.

But, Luffy may not want to see Shanks either, since the promise was that they would meet again when Luffy was a great pirate. After failing to save his brother "the proper way," passing out, and then having to be saved by everybody, I don't think Luffy is feeling too much like a great pirate.

yea this next few chapters or whatever are going to be very series changing possibly. When/How the other crewmates come back, new things they might have, or have learned. New clothing, friends, weapons or who knows what else.
Is there going to be a time skip, whether a few months or a couple years, who knows. and many other things can happen. How will Luffy's personality change, or his actions/decisions pertaining to future events.
OR the strawhats come back looking the same, luffy heals up in a couple days and we set sail the same as usual.
Who knows what will happen, and htats what so exciting about the upcoming chapters. So many things can possibly happen. and even if nothing really happens, at worst it is just us finally setting sail and reaching fishman island and heading into new world.

what about him? its impossible to judge him right now. It seems like he is buddies with Buggy and they work together a bunch. Though he is also aware of Buggy's true self, but that doesn't mean he won't follow him. They seem like Friends, and why not be Buggy's first mate?
Strategically it makes the most sense. Mr. 3 has no where to go to, no allies or crew out there waiting for him. He has no one but Buggy.
