Hahaha, how funny, I was JUST thinking that same thing the very moment I saw your post. Coincidentally, I wasn't even thinking about bounty hunters, but body guards to the Heavenly Dragons. Aside: I was wondering what would happen if the World Government decided to give the Heavenly Dragon's the middle finger about their spoiled attitude… would they even be able to resist or fight back? /Aside. So anyway, yeah, that makes sense to a degree... but looking at Hyouzou that isn't entirely true, and there might be people like Zoro who didn't want to align themselves with the Marines but at the same time didn't want to be pirates. Or people with their own sense of justice who didn't want to be held back by orders and rules and whatnot.

But I don't think a man who has a bounty of hundreds of millions of beli could just walz into Navy HQ or whereever people claim their bounties and get paid without having any trouble walking out. I don't think the Marines or the government would store horrendous amounts of cash without people that are strong enough to guard it properly. :O

Idk about that. I mean don't get me wrong it probably won't happen but I actually could see it occurring in the right context. Think about it, eventually Luffy's bounty is going to be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (you get the point) and the Marines are going to have to ask themselves "Are we just going to double his bounty every time he destroys one of our facilities or beats one of our warlords?" I could see them eventually offering him a position as shichi and being initially turned down outright for obvious reasons. But then I could also see a level headed Nami, Robin or even Usopp explaining to Luffy how being a shichi could greatly benefit the SH's. Not being constantly pursued by the Marines everywhere they go could be reason enough to do so. Now obviously there would be some Marine higher-up's who would have big problems with this (namely Akainu) but his anger wouldn't be enough to stop them from at least offering Luffy the position. Not to mention, he could essentially just knowingly use the title to make his life easier and then once he's gotten all he can out of it he can simply just resign and then continue on as a regular pirate. I'm not saying I 100% expect any of this to happen, but I definitely could see it working out if done in the right way.

The SHs have straight up declared war on the World Government. Most pirates don't do that. Luffy won't be offered Shichibukai

Yeah that's a good point too. Although technically Kuma's known relationship with Dragon was actually closer than Luffy's if you think about it. Luffy has never even met his father, Kuma fought alongside him right before his assault on the WG started which to me would definitely raise more eyebrows than just being someone's son.

Again I never said "I think that this is going to happen" I was sort of just explaining that it could be pulled off, still could even with the declaration of war. I mean obviously Luffy isn't going to die anytime soon (if at all) so that means that his conquests are going to just keep pilling up. Do you really think that after all he is going to do to them the Marines wouldn't even consider doing so? I really hope that there is at least one person smart enough to propose the idea.

I don't think the WG has intellegence of Kuma being associated with Dragon. It seems to me that he had a reputation as a pirate for some reason. Doflamingo didn't know how Ivankov and Kuma knew each other after all. Perhaps Kuma only became a pirate as a covert operation to get the attention of the WG so they would offer him the position of shichibukai.

On the topic of bounty's, people are expecting amazingly high bounties for Pirates like Whitebeard to be in place. It took so much force to kill Whitebeard, and people think the government is just gonna give them a few billion berries and let them go? Their either convincing them to join forces with the government, or getting sent to Level 6 of Impel Down.

That would be epic. Usopp having a ton of high bounties, but none under is actual name up until near the end of the series, when some marine is like 'Are you a hostage, dear?' And he's like 'No, I'm known by many names. From the land of the shooter, Sogeking… Hero of the Tontatta, Usoland (...) my real name is Usopp, son of Yasopp, and I'm sharpshooter for the man who'll be the pirate king! Fear me.'

Will this still work, there's one thing clear in all this and is that they know that the person that has to receive the bounty is the Strawhat sniper, so I don't see them mistaking it like Usoland when last chapter they called him Captain Usopp of all things

All of those who are in the underground know they were saved by Captain Usopp from the strawhats. And only the dwarves(and Kyros) use the Usoland if I remember. So normally captain Usopp should get his bounty.

My predictions

Zoro 450 000 000 - 500 000 000

1. Soon Jinbei will join, and he has a bounty of 400 000 000+, and I think Zoro should still remain a second biggest bounty in the crew.

2. Zoro's new bounty has always been bigger than Luffys ex-bounty. So when Luffy went from 30m to 100m Zoro got 60m, when Luffy went from 100m-300m Zoro got 120m. So I think Zoro's new bounty should be 400 000 000+.

3. Zoro could easily one shot guys like Caribou (210 000 000) or pre-time skip Luffy (400 000 000) and Kid (315 000 000) etc.

4. Zoro has also one shoted a Pacifista, and they are stronger than any supernova was.

5. I think curent Zoro is on pair (slightly stronger or slightly weaker) with characters like Jinbei (400 000 000+), Law (Formerly 440 000 000+), Ace (550 000 000 ) Enel ( who would have 500 000 000 if he was a pirate), Don Chin Jao (500 000 000+ in prime) etc.

Luffy 600 000 000 - 700 000 000

Clearly Luffy should have a bounty higher than Zoro. If bounties were all about the strength, then I would say Luffys bounty would be between 550-600m.

But considering everything he has done in the past, considering he's the captain of the crew, a son of Dragon, Grandson of Garp, Brother of Ace, disciple of Rayleigh etc. I think 650-700m is more appropriate
Also I think his new opponent will be Doflamingo, whose new bounty will be, IMO, 600-700m.

Sanji 400 000 000 - 450 000 000
Not much to say here, he's a little bit weaker than Zoro, so a 400-450m bounty seems right.

General Franky 250 000 000 - 300 000 000
In the movie Z, we saw Franky destroying several Pacifistas in 10-15 seconds

I think that Robin is on pair with 100-200m bounty pirates, but she will probably be a key character in revealing what happened in a void century, which will eventually lead to the destruction of the world government. And closer she is to the end of the grand line, the more dangerous she becomes. so if she gets 200+m bounty it will be because of that, not her strength.

Luffy's bounty is as high as it is for beign Captain of a notorious crew, known for taken out high ranking guys. Croc, Lucchi, secretly Moria, supposedly Hancock during the war, while also surviving the best they can throw at him… plus being part of the impel down breakout, everything he did in the war, showing so many allies and connections, and revealing he had king's ambition... he still only got a 100 mill boost?

That'll raise again to account for his current strength and having publicly defeated dofla, and word getting around about Fishman Island... but anyone that isn't Captain and doing all that insanity isn't going to get THAT huge a boost. Given the frozen bounties we've seen on Warlords, what we've seen the other supernovas to be at now, other peers? the range isn't going to be that crazy. (The highest known bounty is Ace's at 550, and that was as a super strong guy high up in Whitebeard's ranks.)

(Robin's bounty especially has always been based on her knowledge rather than he strength.)

But my best guess is the entire reason the Big Mom party is slated to happen in three days (two now I guess) is so that, in-world, that major shift upheaval can happen quickly and they can deal with a yonkou and get appropriate iant bounties there before they're even given proper credit for the Dofla mess.

Changing the bounties is a major deal in-story, since they stick for years at a time... (Aside from Luffy and Jinbe, they've held their current bounties for EIGHT YEARS now) and affect outside marketing and merchandising too, its not something Oda is going to do lightly. They probably only get one or two more upgrades in the entire rest of the series, so... it'll be significant when they do. Its not going to happen after every arc.

Zoro's bounty won't be getting past 300 Million. Non-Captains tend to get lower boosts.

Why do people think that Usopp's bounty will be lower than Brooks, I can take Franky, but Brook? Usopp already showed signings of leader ship/encouragement to the Marines during the Ennies Lobby incident and now he's commanding new world pirates on his own, so this should amount to something big.

I never considered that this could be the reason why we rarely get bounty upgrades. Makes a lot of sense.

As for the next raise…honestly it doesn't really matter to me. The only thing that irks me a little bit is Robin's relatively low bounty if we consider how much of a fuss is made over her knowledge (by the government and the revolutionaries). If someone gets a huge boost (100 millions+) by all means it should be her.

They knew within a couple days that Kuma had failed to kill the strawhats. Yes, they'd been inactive since then and Thriller Bark is off the record.

The point is, Luffy DID do a whole mess of impressive unprecedented world shaking things, (including his connection to Dragon and connections to the revolutionaries becoming known!) and even his bounty was "only" increased by another 100 mill.

The other strawhats aren't going to jump all that extremely. No one save maaaaybe Zoro and Sanji is going to jump more than 100 from where they are, regardless of their post-timeskip shenanigans… and even then it'll probably wait till after Big Mom where there's more under their belts. Any guesses that are adding 100 mill+ to any given bounty at this time are probably pretty far off. (I do imagine Luffy's will have to pass Ace's after the next increase though.)

That, and it keeps it special. Making a big deal of it after every arc would lose its punch quickly.

I also suspect this may be part of the reason Zoro's increased bounty was a "mistake" that was redacted back to it's pre-timeskip ammount… even though right after the skip Oda had been really cheeky about hiding amounts up until then (showing the posters but putting hte bounty right below camera level repeatedly) as if he wanted to reveal a change as a surprise. I think he'd intended to bump them a litle but then realized he'd have to explain them, and it would affect more than just the comic.

(But when bounties are on wallscrolls, figures, video games, and everything else... changing them IS a big decision. Might also be why some of the better designs we saw in the timeskip sketches didn't get used, because they went too far.)

If there's going to be any MASSIVE jump in bounties, then the first increase into the New World would make the most sense. We're talking about a jump to reflect two years of training along with everything else.

The exact amounts are largely dependant on the timing, however. I'd agree that if the increases were to happen right now, then the other supernovas would be a good indicator on where they might go. But if the increases wait until one of the emperors goes down? That's a totally different story. That would be clearly deserving of a bounty that someone like Kid hasn't reached yet. But keep in mind that those guys will have a role to play as well, and they could also have their bounties increased at the same time so as to not be left behind. The defeat of the first emperor will be a total game changer.

If the bounty increases are held off until an emperor goes down, then I think the pattern will hold up and Luffy will wind up with a bounty of 1 billion. If they come after this arc, though, it wouldn't make much sense for it to go that high since numbers in that ballpark haven't been revealed yet. And if the jump is that extreme, then a 100 mil+ increase is entirely possible for literally anyone on the crew. Ace's bounty is sort of where I see Zoro's and Sanji's bounties going after a while, and Zoro's bounty will ultimately have to surpass Jinbe's bounty eventually anyway.

But consider this. Zoro's not all that far behind Luffy strengthwise, yet he only has 30% of the bounty (most likely the product of not being the captain). Meanwhile Ace was… well... quite a bit behind Whitebeard. So even if Ace did manage 30% of Whitebeard's bounty, which doesn't seem very likely, that'd put Whitebeard's bounty at 1.8 billion, meaning that it was probably even higher. And Whitebeard wasn't even the most wanted man, Dragon was. It's just some rough math, but I think it gives a good idea of what the highest bounties in the series will ultimately look like.

The other interesting thing about bounties is that they used to be a rough equivalent for power levels, ala Dragonball, but as time has worn on they've been less and less significant in that regard… as basically all the big names hit a similar range and significant jumps stopped coming. Dofla's 340 mill was impressive when it first showed up, far outstripping everyone else up to that point (and accompanied by Kuma's 296!) but in the time since.... 300-400 has become practically the norm... and it seems laughable that the likes of Hancock and Croc had less than 100 mill bounties. Even frozen and based on just one or two acts, those seem so low and ill placed.

And obviously a huge massive deal was about the progressions from buggy to Kreig to Arlong, and a huge deal was made about the difference between Bellamy and Luffy at the time, and what the percieved difference was between 30 and 100... and yet you have Doflamingo destroying Law despite 100 mill difference... it just... doesn't funciton even remotely as a measuring stick anymore.

For instance, knowing Moria's bounty was higher than Luffy's was kind of impressive, till you heard it was 320. Whatever. The 20 mill jump that was impressive between Buggy and Arlong is just completely insignificant at this point, especially when you know so many big timers have much lower bounties for a variety of reasons. (Like Blackbeard's 0 bounty, or low frozen warlords.)

Even Oda's once upon a time estimate that Enel would be worth 500 mill... which is still among the highest we know of! mostly seems par for a destructive logia at this point and we know now that the new world eats logias for breakfast if they're too dependant on their power

That they've been static for 8 years is also a thing.

Sanji/Nami/Brook/Chopper are going nowhere. Unless you count Punk Hazard, it's not like any marines saw them. Sanji helped beat up a Pacifista out in the open on Sabaody, but I doubt that warrants an increase.

Robin hasn't really done anything to capture the marines' attention so her bounty raising is doubtful. Usopp's infamy is bound to spread, as is Zoro for attacking Fuji but I won't get my hopes up for either of their bounties changing. Not sure what's supposed to raise Luffy's bounty at this point; still confused by Kid surpassing him in that regard.

Franky is the only one who has really assaulted the Marines (in front of Bastille) so his chances for an increase are the highest.

I was actually thinking about this and I realized that after all this is done, Vilet will most likely get a bounty on her head since even though she has been doing all this just to protect his father, she still have done bad things for the past 10 years.

The marines are aware Usopp and Sogeking are the same person. (Kuma identified him as such on Thriller bark and I'm fairly sure he's been identified sans mask since then.) They wouldn't need to hand out two separate bounties. At most his nickname will change.

And his nickname might not even change. Just like Edward Newgate was known to most of the world as "Whitebeard" Usopp might be known to most of the world as "Sogeking"
