RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
Guardians of the Galaxy; excellent film, one of my favourite marvel films now. The characterization and casting were perfect.
One thought on the final post credits scene (if you haven't watched but want to know what it is look but this will spoil what it is);! The credits scene, with Howard the Duck - does that mean what I think it means?

RE: Your duration as a One Piece fan
Chapter 606 was my first totally up-to-date chapter. The one where they were underwater looking for Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. I had watched the anime up to a certain point (Thriller Bark?) but my internet became really terrible for a few weeks so I couldn't watch any more without it taking about two hours to load - so I read the manga from there and caught up then bought all the english volumes, read through again and have collected and remained up to date ever since. Good times.

RE: Love and Loathe: Daily One Piece Character Analysis
Love: Everything really; he was a brilliant villain, he was massive, he was menacing, he was really funny with all the luffy shadow things, and the fight where the straw hats team up to face him is incredible.
Loathe: Literally the only thing is the fact that he overshadowed Moria as a villain and could have left him as the main villain of the arc - but that's not a complaint of Oars himself, I suppose.4.5/5

RE: Love and Loathe: Daily One Piece Character Analysis
Love: The idea of him as a descendant of Norland and such was great; he had his own personality, he had a lot of integrity, pretty much all positives. The scene where luffy rings the Ox bell and Cricket looks up is one of my favourites of all time.
Loathe: If he had a few more scenes to develop and actually "do something" - not that he wasn't great, just that he didn't do anything major overall.
Overall: 4/5

RE: Love and Loathe: Daily One Piece Character Analysis
Love - Appearance and design are so ridiculous they're brilliant. Also the mermaid thing is amazing.
Loathe - Not exactly a good role model for Chimney with all the drunkness.
Hmm, 3.5/5 - would be higher but the character just didn't do enough - if it wasn't for that moment where she swims (you know the one) in Enies Lobby then it'd probably be a 3 to be honest.

RE: DC Movies Thread - Shazam saves the day
I also loved man of steel. I've got to be honest, one of my favourites of the superhero movies that..there are, I suppose. Yeah.

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
Thanks for the answers guys - yeah, looking forward to this film, trailers are all amazing - I just hope (as has been said) the characters develop more and become much more fleshed out (and more like their comic counterparts please).

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
@Rob:
They won't ever crossover because the rights are at two different studios, and the execs can't see that it would be better for everyone to allow a little sharing. Too much arguing about percentages and whatnot.
Because Spidey and Wolverine in the Avengers would just make too much sense.
Ahh I see, that makes sense - damn execs. Thanks very much! Yeah, Spidey and Wolverine would be fantastic in the avengers but they'd have to connect them in a decent way with the films so far if they didn't want to reboot them (which they probably would do). DOFP looks incredible; which is great because X-men and fantastic films and stuff but if it is as good as it seems then it's going to make the franchise even more successful - as much as I like X-men films, I wonder if them flopping again (after Origins - although I think I'm in the minority that liked that) would result in the rights being at least negotiated towards the MCU and then the MCU being expanded moreso.

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
I saw Winter Soldier, loved it, Falcon was spectacular. Got me thinking too:
Does anyone reckon that there'll actually be a crossover between the MCU and the X-Men films (or that the rights will shift over) in the foreseeable future? Or at all? I know this has probably been discussed massive amounts of times but I can't see why they don't at least collaborate in making an Avengers/X-Men film of some description. Surely that'd be a goldmine right?
