Yeah. Good riddance to Tsuna. My most hated protagonist in all of shounen, blegh.

Man, I so pissed that it has ended this way.
-
welp that was just about the worst ending it could have had
tsuna hasn't grown a damn bit, confirmed in-chapter. all that's different is he has pals now, but he had those by chapter 50. If this manga ended after the mukurou arc, it would have had the same impact.
he also didn't pick a girl, and didn't make the "I'll become the 10th, but reform the vongola!" choice like I thought he would. Goddamn, Tsuna is so fucking wishy-washy it pisses me off.
and none of the other characters got any resolution either, but I guess they never had any arc, they were always static.
Fuck, man. This was one of my early manga, too, but I've grown to really dislike what it became. A pity Amano couldn't wrap it up competently but at least now the old dog is dead and out of its misery.
-
Horrible end, the whole series is a walking testament of "if you are mediocre, you will be mediocre all your life no matter how many things you do that would say otherwise". There was NO character development WHATSOEVER and it's fascinating to see that so clearly. Also, fuck friendship, yes, it's cute and all you want, but if you are so much of a pussy that you can't walk by yourself then you aren't anything but a walking problem for those loved friends.
-
Shitty end for a shitty manga. Tsuna didn't progress an inch as a character, nothing feels resolved, this manga was just one arc of pointless action after the next and that lack of drive really shows in the ending so I guess it's fitting? All I know is I'm glad I won't have to suffer this series any more.
-
One of the most boring and mediocres endings for a series. Really. No development, no epicness. NOTHING. All these years to become the new Vongola leader for nothing? It's like u read during 30 years One Piece and it ends Luffy saying that it was a great aventure and i don't need to become the pirate king. Really? Bad ending. Maybe the author was bored too. But i think he hit the fans in the face doing that awful ending.

Gokudera got resolution with his mom and sister. And Yamamoto found out it wasn't a gang. And ryohei had his sister. issues fixed I think. Lot of loose points but some got wrapped up.
@Genocider:
I wish this would have stayed as more of a gag manga like Beelzebub instead of going all-out with the battles. After the Varia arc it just went downhill.
I agree it did drop. But the first part of the Future Arc had potential. A world without Reborn where Tsuna had to grow up alone.

I think between The start and end of Varia there was character development. Even until the middle of the future. But the author just kept reversing it.
The ending did leave much to be desired though.
-
The worst part is the fact that it was a great series, but like Naruto and Bleach, it became horrible, it was pretty enjoyable at the end of future arc but declined at the beggining of Shimeon arc.

Almost all Shounen titles that exceed beyond 30 volumes will succumb to deterioration for several reasons. I think only a handful of titles actually managed to maintain their quality all the way to the end.
-
The last chapter was wonky, but the last arc was conclusive enough. Overall, I did enjoy the series, despite a few hangups, especially around the Shimon Arc. I guess we'll never know what the Cervello were… oh well.
I hope Amano's next work is a collaboration with Tsugumi Ohba. Bakuman and Reborn! both had the same Editor, so I'm sure they're well acquainted. Amano's art is decent enough that Obata could take a break.
-
Good, this shit is over.
-
So i've only read the first and last chapter and lurked in this thread, what a fucking retarded manga, wasted space in WSJ for to many years.
Now hurry up Naruto and Bleach and end too. -
IT'S OVER?
…?!
It's OVER! DUN DUN DUUN!
-
So, I guess it isn't worth reading around these 450 chapters?
-
So, I guess it isn't worth reading around these 450 chapters?
It's worse than Naruto and Bleach combined. Stay clear of it, good man.
-
Woah woah woah what?! It ended? I had no idea it was ending, it doesn't feel like we've made much progress at all. Although it seems that what it was going for…
-
What a shitty abrupt ending. If you told me the series got cancelled I would belive you.
-
it did have it's ups and downs and while tsuna was a pretty awful protagonist and that ending was really nothing, The series overall was enjoyable and did mangae to wrap up the majority of it's loose ends. Almost every character main character got some development although it's apparent not many here remember them because they didn't happen in the last arc and while tsuna did develop slightly it was annoyingly not by as much as any of us would've liked
-
WTF so this is the end? shitty shitty.
-
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Although apparently Silence gave thumbs up to Psycho Pass. Is she writing the story for that too?
-
So let's rap this up:
Tsuna is still a piece of shit without the dying will
Throughout the course of over 400 chapters he had ZERO character developement
He didn't choose a girl (WTF was the point of the previous 2 chapters then!!)
He still didn't choose to become Vongola 10th. Nor did he fully agree to this Neo Vongola bullshit
He admits that without Reborn he can't do shit
BUT HEY GUYZ HE HAZ FRENDZ SO IT'S COOOOOOOOOOL
TBH I liked this page though
!
But yeah shitty ending to a manga I grew very fond of and I am majorly dissapointed
-
BOOOOOO SHIT ENDING.I loved this series too, my number 3 fav anime. It was good besides the Choice arc, the ebd of the rainbow arc, and Tsuna's inability to grow balls. The mangaka probably wanted the end the series as soon as possible. Tsuna hasnt changed AT ALL since ch 1.
-
@Dryish: seriously? Reborn didn't have the worst arc in shounen: deicide nor did it have zombies of already beaten characters. I do love this series but the ending was pretty awful, it could have been improved with at least a flash forward of them grown up including the Arcobaleno stand8ng around Tsuna. I would have liked a final arc with Tsuna and the rest reforming the mafia though.
-
Dammit Hitman Reborn, I still like you but jeez…....
-
It was a manga about mafia , then superpowers, then time traveling, then mafia rivalry, then magic, then aliens, and now friendship. WOW LAME -_-
-
So disappointed with KHR. It could've been much better than this. Not as horrible a series as some may say (better than Naruto and Bleach IMO) but I doubt I'll remember much of it in a couple years and worse I won't care.
-
So that's it huh? Well on to the next manga lol
-
I can't tell if the author just doesn't understand the concept of character development, or if there's a legit/conscious reason why she chose to keep Tsuna's self confidence/hesitance towards the mafia in tact (I can understand why he wouldn't want to join the mafia after all this time, but there were so many better ways to end the story or reach this conclusion than what was given)
Yeah the execution wasn't good, but the concept was really cool. Mafia type battle manga with seven warriors each with their own special abilities? Awesome.
This was one of my first manga/anime series so it'll always have a fondness/nostalgia, even with the way it turned out.
And the intros were always pretty catchy and fun to watch.
!
! -
The anime was boss
-
Man, I dropped this series in the Future Arc….now it's some 100+ chapters later and I read the last chapter because it said it ended
LOL @ this shit. Damn, even Fairy Tail is better than this. Nothing changed except there a bunch of generic samey looking extra characters I don't recognize now. I coulda dropped this series after Varia and would not have missed any character development.
Gotta hand it to Amano....this made the first Shaman King ending look so much better.
-
So in two more volumes this manga is over or was this the last chap?
Either way this chap was weak. Seems after that last arc there was no plan to inevitable make Tsuna the 10th and transform in to a badass that runs the mafia.
-
A manga series I use to follow, and one that I won't rate over anything is ending? Good riddance I'll say. Normally I'm respectful of series I've dropped that ends, and would even check the final chapter for the hell of it. But the Future Arc of this series burned me that badly, and it's a stunt that I'll never want to see myself performing ever again.
Kudos to the people that stuck with it.

I think maybe that's the thing. He hasn't changed. Or been corrupted by power. But from back in the first chapter. He is different.

Finally this travesty of a manga is over.
-
When you guys say the Future arc sucked, are you referring the the Choice arc? I kinda understand. I mean, it was all hyped up but only 3 people fought. Also , wasnt Tsuna and Sena ( ES 21) the same at first? But the only difference is that Senz actually grew balls
-

Sena at least had a natural talent that got better. Tsuna had to basically be doped and naked to not be a giant wuss or total failure and never grew to do anything on his own while not in a fight. This last arc was really the only time he was proactive and wasn't bullied and dragged into fighting. Tsuna is by far the worst Shonen lead I've ever read. This manga was a huge disappointment in every aspect. Probably one of the few times the fanfics are better than the actual source.
-
It lost all its respect in the end of the final arc

Sena tramples the shit out of Tsuna when it comes to character development, just as Eyeshield 21 tramples the shit out of KHR in terms of overall quality.
on a different note, did we ever find out what Hibari's deal is? Is he just naturally a pissant, or what? why is he so anti-social/powerful?

He's just a dick that likes to say he will bite people to death.
-
Seeing this terrible manga finally wrap up I find myself quite confused with how I managed to read it through all these years.
-
I'd like to say that it was a pretty mediocre manga, and a lot of people read this thing because of the bishies (which I will admit, was the only reason I continued reading). Hopefully Amano Akira learns to include actual character development in her next series.
-
I started reading this manga not 2 months ago and it has already ended.
Overall I enjoyed it but the problem was that the sagas don't fit together. The first one was comedy with some action, it worked most of the time except when Amano kept introducing new characters before letting us know who just appeared in the last chapter. Then it had a very normal transition in the shounen business, the Varia appeared as the big bad enemy and it really turned into a fighting manga. And it was not too shabby.
Then the Future saga, despite the randomness of the premise, the way it connected to the first chapters and the possibility of seeing the characters grown up looking all cool was good. The it introduced the box rings and start to see it doesn't really connect very well with the first parts.
The sagas after that were nice text-book shounen. It didn't show anything special or innovations but were a simple and nice read despite some wierder crap in the middle.
And now they decided to end it before it's name reaches the mud, like BLEACH, despite leaving some questions to answer. (what the fuck was ramen guy/checker face?)Overall it was a good premise for a shounen story that started in a good way but Amano ended up jumping the shark, just doing whatever came to mind and ignoring world progression. And it leaves me sad cause it had so much potencial if only the characters had progress more than once in the series and the world had stayed coherent with itself.
-
raises hand tentatively I kept reading this for the bishies…..
EDIT: Oh wow, I'm not the only one
-
He's just a dick that likes to say he will bite people to death.
Yup, we got to know nothing about the characters, I remember whining like 3 arcs ago that I was fucking tired of Hibari usual crap without getting any explanation for it.
This is kinda like Bleach to me, I liked the first arc and then it went downhill, well in here I liked till the Varia arc atleast and like many others I was pretty annoyed by the whole future arc.
-
The future arc seems to have ruined it for most. It was fairly entertaining till the end of Varia arc. In my opinion it would have much better if the rainbow selection arc happened right after the Varia arc. Some of here are comparing this with Bleach; I would say this manga was worse than Bleach. Atleast Kubo never fails to give me my weekly dose of trolling XD
-
That was the most retarded ending to a manga I've ever seen thus far, no doubt.
It's like the author was allergic to character development yet for some reason decided to make a manga where the main character absolutely HAS to develop. And so this was the result, he never changed even after 400 fucking chapters, even though the point of all of this from the very beginning was for him to grow a pair once and for all.
But it's all okay because he has friends now!! Fucking KHR logic.Thinking about it, Amano probably thought it'd be better to keep him like this so he could always be self insert material for the readers to 'connect with'.Which is stupid as hell, since it denies the whole point of this shit.
Oh well.
Reborn is really the only redeeming factor of all this, the only good character in a sea of shit.
And Hibari may be a dick but I don't hate him since he was at least entertaining. -
And of course Lambo wasn't included in the final arc until the last chapter with no dialogue.
Character development was so little that there if there was any major changes besides Tsuna (final chapter pretty much states he's still a little b–--
but as long as he has friends it doesn't matter?) and Gokudera who's last bit of character development was in the Varia Arc.Chrome did nothing for the story whatsoever and even in the last arc, she still felt like a stranger to me and Ryohei felt useless like usual.

Gokudera was one of my faves for a long time, but he was just sideline after a while. So disappointing. Does it sting more for you since you have him as your user name? ^^;;;
-
I have a real hard time comparing this with bleach, both are mediocre… but... in different ways. Bleach is entertaining at least, but has the least amount of effort put into it.
You can tell Amano is trying but just sucks donkey nuts. The battle system itself was a major flaw. Once powerlevels are introduced into a series, it usually means that side characters are about to get jobbed and shafted like nobody's business.
Part of the reason the Mokuro/Guardian arc was so entertaining was because everyone felt unique and powerful in their own way.
Also... what was the point of even creating Basil? No, I'm fucking serious. Why?
He started off as a "potential" rival for Tsuna, then he just got jobbed ridiculously, and served no other purpose.
Even chrome did something in the final arc.
-
At least I don't feel bad for saying stayed the same.
