If it's just that though, it'll be just a temporary thing until Katakuri calms down gain and Luffy will get owned again. it should be something else. Luffy isn't really the type of fighter to trash talk his opponents which would keep Katakuri flustered with all of the constant trolling.

I wasn't expecting Luffy to hit him without Gear 4 so it looks like he really did figure out how his ability works. With Cracker and Katakuri having hidden forms I wonder if smoothie has one too.

Common, the whole "Luffy only needs a bit of food to recover" is just a joke made by Oda in a sbs.
The dude was still tired at the end of Dressrossa after 3days of sleeping and eating (for instance).

Did you forget the Cracker fight. Luffy was able to recover by eating the Cracker clones even though he used G4 and that fight went on for 11 hours.
