@Ivotas:
Minor correction…
Sheesh, like I said, my comments are slightly off canon today. Blame exam week.
In any case, while we can speculate as to the motivations of the Shichibukai to our hearts content, it is still too early to decide whether they have a definite theme or share the lack of sufficient strength to achieve their dream on the first go-around. We should see shortly in the next arc or two when Kuma, Doflamingo, and Jimbei should receive greater exposition.
@onemoment:
After reading the translation chapter, it seems that Moria is losing control of his mind thanks to the 1000 shadows? That kinds of sucks, it decreases the chances of Moria using his shadow powers in a clever matter.
Yup. I mentioned that earlier. This would also offer another reason for Moria to build up his Zombie army. Because he apparently can not achieve Nightmare mode without going batshit insane, it must be a move saved for special circumstances when his life is on the line.
This means that his zombie army actually serves two functions:
1. eager loyal henchmen willing to do all the dirty work
2. As a place to store the shadows of all the greatest fighters Moria has defeated. So, each shadow stored in a zombie offers a significant power up to Moria's greatest technique, Shadow Asgard. He probably expected to use this move on Kaidou and bring forth the entire strength of his shadow army into his own body for that fight.
Also in regard to Nightmare Moria vs odz, well, Odz used a gatling attack direct to the island (with only a few general zombies in the way) and only managed to rock the boat a little. NM cracked the hull with one punch. NM is easily the physically strongest opponent the straw hats have faced thus far.
Edit:@CLERICSHADOW:
Wuh???:blink: I know Don has one it was said…but Jimbei has only been mentioned on ONE page in the manga..his name hasn't been brought up since...who said he established a kingdom???
Sorry, I've been having a bad habit of confusing my old speculations with canon today. Whether Doflamingo has his own territory depends on the translation and I always found it likely that Jimbei will be the leader of Fishman Island. We should find out on both accounts soon.
