@No:
How would you feel about Aizawa or Mic dying instead?
I feel like they need to survive until the Kurogiri thing is resolved.
Also, both of them have likely been flagged as safe after Crust sacrificed himself to save them. I can't see Hori deliberately making that sacrifice meaningless.
@Robby:
Also, we really don't need more Hunter X Hunters with random body counts of named characters just because.
That doesn't actually make the story any better or more interesting.
I totally agree, especially since I don't think I was suggesting any of that.
(Or at least I didn't intend to.)
I wouldn't want anyone dying for the sake of it either,
but I'm just saying that if Hori did dare to do something like that I'd be kinda happy that he went there.
This manga has always felt…. somewhat bold in this kinda thing. But without taking that final step.
If it's a case of requiring substantial time dedicated to the death itself, then Tokoyami is a possible factor right now.
He charged in to save Hawks despite Fatgum telling him to stay back, and the last time we saw him he was being pursued by Dabi.
There's also a mentor/student bond going on between Hawks and Tokoyami.
I know that things seem to be pointing towards "mentor dies in front of student, student takes it with him going forward",
but there might still be a slim possibility that Dabi's first major score will be a double kill. Not making any solid calls, just speculating.
@Marcotty:
Mount Lady grows to maximum size and chucks some of the kids to safety while she's left crumbling.
Fatgum Gum Gum Cannonballs some of them out while sacrificing himself.
Edgeshot starts dusting, but grabs some kids and strings himself out far enough and fast enough to outpace the process until they're far enough away.
That's all I could come up with.
Woah, I could definitely get behind all of this.
Especially the Mount Lady one.
She was first introduced as a fresh rookie on the scene, and she has a semi-friendly rivalry with Kamui Woods for public attention.
She was the kind of hero Stain hated, only seeming to care about the spotlight.
But then she (and Kamui) got involved in the serious Kamino operation and she showed her true heroic spirit (helping Deku's group escape by blocking a flying Compress with her face).
It would definitely be an awesome final destination for her character if she spent her final moments saving others while crumbling.
The opposite attitude of when she intentionally and gleefully stole Kamui's thunder in chapter 1.
@Kunt:
People need to stop thinking that a high bodycount means your story is good
I agree.
Good thing that wasn't the point or intention of my post at all.
