But Jaco pops, and Jiren is just buff Jaco. It's the personality that fails.
It's the TeamFourStar Thread with DBZ Abridged and Pokemon things

Jaco is still a comedic minor supporting character though. And his design still looks it had some more effort put into it than gray alien stereotype with red and black spandex with Frieza's 100% muscles. Jaco got atypical yellow triangular eyes and blue/purple skin, super sentai poses, a quirky insignia on his chest, and a ray gun. He's silly and still cliche for an alien, but is at least more vibrant and versatile in how he looks.
And I don't even mind that Jiren looks like a gray alien stereotype. I actually like it when series save fictional stereotypes/cliches for special moments and characters so that they have more more weight due to their familiarity, such as how authentically pirate-y Blackbeard is as the series' built-up final antagonist compared to the rest of One Piece's colorfully surreal antagonists. But unlike Blackbeard, who's a black fat glutton with bad teeth and darkness/quake powers (Oda didn't literally redraw real life depictions of Blackbeard), there's hardly an endearingly unique or clever execution of the gray alien design concept that makes Jiren stand out from the other villains or other gray aliens in media.
He's only, like I said before, muscle-y gray alien with red and black spandex. Togashi put more thought into drawing his Cell ripoff than either Toei or Toyotaro put into Jiren's design.
Despite how much he lacked in personality, at least Perfect Cell's ultimate bugman design carries him well on the eyes. And his origin's too wacky and stupid to forget. Jiren… I've got nothing aside from liking to mediate out of arrogance.
-
The thing that annoys me the most about Jiren is how completely pointless him being a Pride Trooper is. I don't mean that in the being on the U11 team sense, I'm talking about how all of the others are over the top Justice warriors while he's just a stoic blob who we're supposed to assume is a morally good person by association. The guy doesn't even pose with the others!

They uploaded a kid buu's or maybe super buu eyes for their Facebook page. Come on guys don't play with my feelings.

Yeah, they're playing Buu's Fury for the GBA. That's what it was for.
Me to TFS:

Jesus, I forgot that Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans looks like garbage.

…..Tullece and Slug were in this thing?

I feel like it's easier to see the TFS edits.

I'm so happy they toned down the highlights on the faces with the recent stuff. It looks so jarring here.
"How could I ever endanger the universe?"
[Dragon Ball Super ad pops up]
Best joke.
-
! aww, it was dedicated to Hiromi Tsuru….
-
Fun Christmas treat movie, I like how their movies are always reminscent of their old style of abridging
. The best jole was definately the Dragonball Super one -
"I have an uncle?"
"You HAD an uncle!"
-
The best joke is making it so the Tarble special will never happen.
I mean, they're probably not doing the Buu saga and so anything after that would be out as well but… it's nice to think in their universe that Tarble is dead.
-
Pretty punny. Also I never saw whatever movie this was using.

It started off as an animated companion piece to a video game in the early '90s. This was a redone version from about 2010 or so.

Guess they haven't made the decision yet.
-
Well they decide to end it here, I hope it goes out with a bang.
-

More a case of the decision has been made for them. I'm sure they'd keep doing it if they could, but… legal stuff.

Sad that it is probably the end (and let's face it, that's 95% likely what it is going to be) but DBZA is too popular now that it can't fly under Toei's radar. The Japanese gonna Japanese, and as bullshit as it is, they don't get any money from it.
Besides, DBZA basically did what they wanted it to do, put them as VAs and content creators on the map. They'll probably either go the Rooster teeth way and make their own show, or get picked up by RT or Funimation.
The big thing is whether or not their fanbase follows them.
-
Yeah, not very surprising. There hasn't been a whole lot of activity from them as of late (even the TFS gaming videos have died down), but at least it looks like they'll go out with a bang.
They have at least one TFS Gaming video update on Youtube every day and they stream four times a week. I don’t know how much more they can do lol.

Eh, maybe I don't notice because I'm not that interested in anything they've been uploading. I was kinda hoping they'd continue the Metal Gear series. And I don't think they've been doing Casual Fridays or Tues/Wednesdayhem streams lately.
-
the tfs stream is on, granted it's Zito, but it's their stream.

They are continuing MGS. It's just moved over to the new Stream Four Star channel.
Oh, and they've also recently started the 4 Star Bento channel, featuring reviews, trivia and other stuff relating to various anime. So yeah, they're quite active still.

You can find their MGS3 streams on Twitch. There's been four so far. They've had a couple of breaks to play FighterZ.
-
They didn't really advertise much about all their streams now getting put on a separate channel.
-
I think the last TFSGaming thing I watched was some of their Buu's Fury run.
But I'm just waiting for their next Nuzlocke run. And hopefully it actually functions as a Nuzlocke challenge, and not the whole fiasco from their Emerald run.
-
Wasn't it the Moon run that went really awry?

Ah, see I didn't know that. And I recall they used to upload Youtube videos letting people know when they were going to stream on Twitch. Anyway, thanks.

Yeah, that too.
-

No, they ran through that game pretty normally. I think they wiped in the post game against Ash, but it was a normal run. Dying in the post game is fine, they don't care past the elite 4.
Emerald though they ended up wiping against Winona, and then rather than move onto a B team, they covered it up, but the levels and items gave them away… and the entire remainder of the run was completely tainted as a result.
They also kept in the slugma for weeks just to get it to evolve like Melvin didn't and so they kept it out of battle and never used it and made My Ex jokes for three months..
-
I shall embrace the move from DBZA to Natural Onedeers.
Ahem, Oneders.
I preferred DBZA to any dub of the anime, but if they can't do it anymore then as long as they're putting out enjoyable content I'll keep up with them.
Generally love their streams, but the DnD run is my favorite so far. -

It really sucks that we probably won't see Buu and beyond, but it's totally understandable.
The series has grown at a tremendous rate since its beginnings, and so has the production values, people involved, etc. But at the same time, it's become a lot of work for the team, Kaiser especially, with some hiccups here and there.
I'll await patiently for episode 60, and I wish them best luck in all their side projects. Aren't they involved in an anime production now? -
So…No Bojack then?
-
@Cyan:

It is at the end of their videos. And they put the 4 star bento and tfs at the table previews in the main channel.
-

i don't think that's the case..while they had their misadventures in the past and they are and will still continue to be on shaky legal ground, i think they became big enough that even if their youtube presence is mined they can still just host somewhere else,if not on their very own website.
i think they have just realized that the other kind of videos they are making right now take a lot less time and effort to make and are safer, and since they are now adults with a family they must prioritize that over anything else..especially since despite the fact that they seem to have actual talent for the dubbing, they didn't get that many job offerings in that direction if not for marginal roles or marginal projects..they were probably hoping that dbz abridged would be their trampoline for the jump in the industry but it didn't really happened.
-

No, they survived the Red battle… barely. Sito the Decidueye and GUNBEAK the Toucannon were the sole survivors. Which, given that those were also their first team mates, made that just the most dramatically fitting bookend to that whole run.
But yeah, I sure hope that they've learned from the backlash against their cover-up in Emerald not to do that again. Either don't have a "Wipe = Game Over" rule in the first place, or actually be honest about it if it ends up happening. Which it could, being that Platinum is one of the hardest games in the series and all.
-
Platnium isn't to bad.
Cynthia in diamond and pearl is way tougher.
-
I will say the saving grace for the Emerald Nuzlocke was the reveal at the end that Maquibi grows up to be TANTOR's mother.
-
@Cyan:

Probably why that channel has about 1/100th as many subscribers.
-
Having just watched the Moon Nuzlocke, it really is quite boring for the most part. Alola kind of sucks for Nuzlockes- you're either overleveling and breezing through it or properly leveled and getting dropped by Z-moves. For 90% of the run through they would just tank everything with Magneton.
Emerald was…ok. The Melvin focus was painful but I honestly didn't mind too much about the wipe, mainly since it got Kirran to stop shitting on Gen 3.
-

Cynthia in diamond and pearl is way tougher.
Is she really though? Because just looking at her team, I feel like her Platinum team seems better optimized with wider type coverage. Granted, her Diamond & Pearl team is higher leveled, but then the entire League was higher leveled in Diamond & Pearl, and I wouldn't say "you need to do even more level-grinding to stand a chance against these guys" really counts as genuine difficulty.

Buy viagra.

Well, this Nuzlocke run is going just peachy.
-

As penance for the game being incredibly unclear where routes begin and end, half the team and the majority of the reserves died for nothing.

Rivalry might be a shitty ability but Cleo wouldn't have died if Master of Distaster Kirran hadn't masterminded that brilliant strategy.

I legit felt Lani's anger when His majesty proved quicker than that skunk.

Swinging by the shop for some super potions would have prevented all this.

Could this be the first Nuzlocke they don't finish?
I mean, technically they already wiped with Emerald, but they've really dug themselves into a corner here.

They can dig out of this hole. Good thing about drafting Narkama is that next is a Fighting gym (bad thing is that leveling up an Abra before getting an Exp. Share is godawful.) They can potentially get a Gible (and therefore a Garchomp) soon.
They're totally going to die to Cynthia though.
