That's what Russia is already doing. That's how we got into this in the first place.

At this point, I'm wondering what the next President will have to do to have a "scandal." I feel overwhelmed with all the crap Trump has done. It's not impossible, but if I see anything less then this I just won't care.
This is the second time he's picked a fight with a world leader in the middle of the crisis. It feels like nothing hurts this guy, or rather he doesn't realize it hurts him. I'm wondering when this is really going to have consequence for him

At this point, I'm wondering what the next President will have to do to have a "scandal."
The next Democratic President will go right back to inane things like wearing a tan suit being a scandal.
The next Republican will get by with "Well, he's not Trump." -
Can you imagine losing entire town's population losing it's homes, possessions, lose family members tragically, spend days going through waist high water to help people. Then you beg on tv, beg for help. A 3 star general says he does not have the troops they need or resources, so you BEG on tv and the highest person in charge of the military tells you that you simply "want everything done for them". That you were NASTY by having the audacity to say that you need more help.
Apparently this monster of President is going to be going to PR on Tuesday. I don't know if he will be going to San Juan, but I'm curious if the news of his awful statements will even reach most of the population down there by the time he comes around. Hopefully word passes on his awful statements and he's given the proper response he deserves.

Whining about people wanting everything done for them is especially odious coming from a guy who actually has a specific button installed on his desk to summon somebody with a Coke.

Bill Clinton got impeached for a blowjob 10 years after a Republican president got away with arguably the biggest crime committed in the White House.

So true.
I remember how anything and everything that Obama did, the Republicans were all over him. Like one time he went to a ceremony and he didn't have a flag pin on. The Republicans destroyed him over that. Then we turn around, and Trump goes to a ceremony and doesn't have a flag pin on (yes, this has happened), and there is silence.
Trump is a walking scandal. I can not believe what Clinton went through for cheating (unless there is something I've missed, I'm not super knowledgeable on what happened there, I will admit), yet, Trump has bragged about sexual molestation, and that was just brushed that off. It's disgusting, and it just paints an even clearer picture of how rotten the "morality" of the Religious Right and Republicans is. Like I mean rotten to the core. I am so disgusted.

I mean Clinton did abuse his position as president to have an intern give him a blowjob. That's not good. I mean, that's really really bad. There's also a distinct chance he may have gotten away with multiple rapes. Still, that only affects the victims. It really doesn't have any impact on the running of the country (which is why most people are still willing to say he was a good President).
That said, Trump is a walking talking russia scandal that abuses power to change laws and spends public money on unnecessary flights for all his cabinet, while also deepening race tensions and insulting people and companies left and right because he's bored. Not to mention constantly poking the dictator of NK, who has nukes and wants to use them, on twitter. I think he's worse. Perhaps not on a moral level, but certainly at a presidential one. -
This is the second time he's picked a fight with a world leader in the middle of the crisis.
What? What did he do now?

Puerto Rico descends into anarchy and darkness
"Guys, blowjob, that's really really bad."
I dunno Afro, Puerto Ricans are brown people so I mean, I know how you feel there. But they are Latin family speaking Catholics so could you attempt the slightest comprehension of how incredibly shitty this is before you make another black hole of a post where you compare the moral level of a blowjob with the presidential level of letting a whole island of Americans sink into shit? Thanks.

Look, being a political nightmare of a president is one thing, being a potential rapist is another. The latter sends you to prison for life, and for good reason. But rejoice, we don't need to argue whether Clinton is worse than Trump, because Trump was sued for rape too! So you know, they're de minimis as bad as eachother from a purely human perspective, and Trump is objectively way way worse from a political one.
EDIT: Oh and please steer away from accusing me of racism, especially when my post never even mentioned his handling of the Puerto Rico situation, or made any comment about race other than Trump "damaging race relations". It's just really sleazy, a little immature, and unneccessary. Stop it.
-
Bill Clinton is not a rapist and his relationship with Monica Lewinsky was consensual and she never considered she was taken advantage of. What he did was morally wrong (though I'm sure revisionism blames Hillary for this as well), but not a crime.
-

Oh I see, all the lives he's ruined in a vast multitude of direct and indirect ways, these are political in nature.

He was accused of rape, in seperate proceedings. Never convicted of anything. Much like Trump, who was also accused, but never convicted.

Yes, well, he is acting as president and has done a lot of damage to the country in his office, but that's still a political matter. It's a little different from rape, which holds a life sentence and is up there with murder as the worst crimes one can commit.
EDIT: feel free to answer this post, but I myself won't respond anymore, it's really not relevant to anything and a silly comparison, given how much worse Trump is as a President. I only posted the first time to explain what the Clinton scandal was about :/

This is so mind numbingly point missing I almost think you're fully aware.

Paula Jones lied in her testimonies. Juanita Broddrick had given a sworn affidavit and testimony that Clinton didn't rape her. The Starr team looked up dozens of women who could've been considered as sexual assault victims and they found nothing.
Donald Trump, on the other hand, bragged about sexual assault on tape. The fact that Clinton's accusers became his surrogates after the Access Hollywood tape leaked should say enough about their intentions.

You also forgot about him insulting some of those same women.

Exactly. Getting a blowjob from your intern is bad press, but lying under oath is a crime.
Not as big a crime as all the shit Trump has pulled, but still a crime.
-
I think at this point bringing up CLinton's blowjob is pretty much the same equivilent as "But HER EMAILS." (And apparently Trump's entire cabinet is using private servers so)
When you know, millions of american citizens are literally dying because the president is actively refusing to send appropriate aid, and is picking fights with the governor of said area in crisis.
You really, REALLY can't at this juncture say with a straight face "Yeah Trump is bad, but Clinton did bad things too" and try to tote them as being anywhere near an even level. "Oh, he lied under oath, he is equally bad."
Yes, if there's a casual discussion going on about the one topic, yes, he did bad. But when the bigger much much nastier topic of "Hey, the president is murdering people and supporting literal nazis and was supported by the russians in a possibly illegitimate election" are coming up, that's really not the place to pull out "Yeah but the other guy…."

Nobody said that Clinton lying under oath is nearly as bad as the horrible things Trump is pulling. But it is technically a crime, which is how his opponents got him impeached.
-
The fact that most of the people pushing for Bill's impeachment have had massive sex scandals of their own illustrates how much the GOP actually cared about the blowjob or the perjury.
-
Clinton lied under oath, that was the scandal.
That's the OFFICIAL reason, but the point was to humiliate the president and the core problem Republicans always had with Clinton to begin with is that they considered him an immoral hick whose private shortcomings showed he was unfit for public office. Which is why the Starr report was full of lewd, unneccesary details.
-

That's all true, but the scandal wouldn't have had any teeth without the "he lied under oath" part.
The Trump equivalent is how him being a racist prick hasn't sunk him yet, but transparently treating millions of people like shit during a major disaster is going to cost him (or that time he refused to say that Nazis were evil for like 3 days and then doubled down on it. Clinton never would've done that shit.) -

I was afraid of this. I don't think I was clear, but I am talking about Carmen Yulin Cruz, even though she's a mayor. I meant "world leader" in the broadest sense, though I guess that is the wrong term.
However, the first time I'm thinking of was when he picked a fight with Sadiq Khan, mayor of London, during that terrorist attack. The orange idiot not only called him a bad leader, but berated him for not jumping to conclusions and calling this event a terrorist attack–even before the attacker was identified. It was disgusting, and seeing him call a group of dying Puerto Ricans "lazy" on twitter is extra frustrating.

In analyzing the Alabama Primary race,FAKE NEWS always fails to mention that the candidate I endorsed went up MANY points after endorsement!
He's the president, so naturally any endorsement he makes will affect the outcome of a primary run by his party. Why is this a thing that he feels he has to prove?
-
I mean if you go by FEMA's website there's over 11,000 federal workers down helping Puerto Rico and they have a whole port full of aid just sitting there. The roads are terrible though (which is being worked on by several groups of people down there) and there's a lack of truck drivers to deliver the stuff anyway. I've seen Twitter posts supposedly from people in PR that dock workers are on strike too. I think it's pretty disingenuous to say that "Trump is refusing to help". I don't know if any of these federal workers have licenses to drive semi trucks.

Does anyone have an info on this alleged “strike” that Conservatives keep pointing to as the reason supplies aren’t being distributed? You know, other than the very real issues of clearing roads, and getting in contact with able drivers.

B-but, South Park did a parody of this already. That means he has to stop doing this. What is he doing.
Also, was this a bad week for Trump? I really can't tell anymore. This week in called dying Puerto Ricans lazy, pushed a nuclear state, and lost a cabinet member. This isn't even the first week that I can say that's happened. Where is the bottom to this?

The bottom is federal prison. For Trump I imagine that to be true in more ways than one.

He is helping, but he made key mistakes early on and got super defensive about it, following that up with some racist tweets about how Puerto Ricans don't work hard. Even if it does turn out that this was a conspiracy to make Trump look bad at the expensive of Puerto Rican lives, his own words are truly damning and he can't take them back.

Maybe it has something to do with the law banning foreign ships from sending aid?
I know Trump eventually waived it, but he wasted valuable time.
-

Mostly just tweets which of course might not be accurate. Everyone's blaming everyone else while stuff is still not being delivered from the ports to wherever it needs to go.

Trump slow to implement Russia, Iran, North Korea sanctions law: senators
I'm coming down from my Trump panic, and left wondering why he's doing this. I recall the narrative that "he's trying to distract us," and I think I found something that fits that. I forgot about this.

Republicans let CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) expire. Obviously, those kids need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. The fact that this legislation has been supported by Hillary since she was First Lady probably didn't help matters either.
-
A number of senators within both parties are of the opinion, that the sanctions imposed by the President that are intended to cut funding for North Korea's nuke program. Is not enough to impede it. Senators want the administration to take more action, there's talk of Congress taking matters into their own hands and bypassing Trump to issue sanctions of their own if necessary.
