These couple chapters have got me thinking (small theory): I think each Supernova will have a special relationship with a specific Strawhat, whether it be battle opponent, plot interaction, personality mix, similar ship roles, etc.
Let's look at some numbers.
Not including Luffy and Zoro, there are 9 Supernovas.
There are currently 9 Strawhats as well
Now on to the relationships
The obvious ones (atleast to me):
1.Luffy and Kid
Kid is the one Supernova who I truly feel will be Luffy's rival. They both share the same dream, they just go about it completely opposite than the other. It will be interesting to see how big of a player Kid will become, or if he just becomes part of the Strawhat fleet.
2. Zoro and Killer
The 2 non captain Supernovas. Both use blades and apparently love the feeling of battles. It will be interesting to see just how far these 2 will go for their respectful captains.
3. Chopper and Law
Now I know most people will think Law should probably go with Luffy since they formed an alliance, but the Chopper fan in me has to see this through lol. Both Chopper and Law are doctors. Chopper's dream is to become the best doctor in the world and cure any disease. The problem, however, is that Law seems to be 10x better as a doctor than Chopper will ever be. What gives? I know they interacted a bit back in PH, but I want to see more. I want to see them push each other to become better doctors. Like a friendly rivalry. It seems like Oda forgot that Luffy and Zoro aren't the only Strawhats that have dreams they want to achieve. I will be very disappointed if they don't do anything together during Zou
4. Brook and Apoo
This is another one that seems obvious to me. The musicians. Just how important is music to Apoo? His DF has interesting possibilities. Will Brook and Apoo work together to pull of attacks? Plus, one would think Brook was with the long arm tribe for a reason
5. Sanji and Capone
The one that got me thinking about this theory in the first place. Now it was obvious that Capone had a mafia theme, not so much with Sanji. Who knew that Sanji belonged to a powerful family? This dynamic will be interesting to see. Both of them seem to be very perceptive and great thinkers as well.
6. Nami and Bonnie
No, not just because they're both females lol. She must be called Jewelry Bonnie for a reason, and guess who else loves jewelry? Plus didn't Nami get turned into a kid during the Z movie? Maybe that was foreshadowing? We also don't know much Nami herself. Who are her real parents? For all we know, Bonnie might know, the same way Capone knew about Sanji.
Now come the hard ones.
7. Franky and Drake
This one didn't make much sense to me. The only thing that came to me was the age old battle of Beast vs machine
Weren't they also revealed together for Burning Blood?
8. Robin and Urouge (my favorite Supernova!)
Urouge is the priest. Something tells me Robin can learn a lot from him,and vice versa. Urouge coming from the sky and Robin reading the Poneglyph might not be a coincidence(what did the poneglyph say? been a while since i saw Skypeia)
9. Usopp and Hawkins
Yeah this one makes no sense. However, Hawkins is shown to be serious and never in a joking mood. Guess who is a jokester? This dynamic will atleast be hilarious. They are complete opposites lol
I know Jimbei joining will destroy this theory (lol) but it still seems interesting to me. I am looking forward to knowing more about each Supernova. Thoughts?
