I think, Weevil mom used Edward's sperm( like a Op version of comdoms and then the spem inserted from the gabbage or something, ), not sure if he knew about it, could have been one of his many whores (Weevil mom that is). Is'nt that a strong possibility?

No. the gag is pretty blatantly that he's not actually related to WHitebeard at all, and his mom is claiming he is for the fame and respect and money that brings.
Also why they're going around wiping out his former allies.. deal with anyone that would claim otherwise.

Not to mention that it's gross.

I'd prefer if someone who knows their shit could answer this so we don't get a roundabout discussion without any certainty. How is Zou really pronounced? There's a word "zou" in Dutch so I've just been pronouncing it the way I would pronounce the Dutch word, but the other day I got a feeling that that might not be how it should be done. What exactly is the pronunciation? I can understand phonetic transcripts, might be handy to convey it through IPA symbols if you can.

No need to know shit. It's the word for elephant. You probably heard it many times already.

I asked for the pronunciation, not the meaning.

I don't watch the anime, so no I hadn't heard it. I forgot I could listen to how it was pronounced there. Thanks for the reference.

What exactly is Doflamingo's role in the rest of the story? There is no way we are done with him as a character: the way I see it, he still has like a third of the crucial parts of his backstory still under the wraps. I don't see him (under any circumstances really) being 'redeemed' like Crocodile (not that Croco-boy was really redeemed, per-say, yet); his backstory paints him as too much of a villain. That said, is Oda just going to use him as an exposition dump (primarily to reveal the ancient treasure of Mariejois and explain the rest of his [relevant] actions in the One Piece World), or is he going have another (non-main, but still antagonistic) role in the One Piece Universe?
-
I didn't know where to put this question… but here goes;
I've talked to 3 japanese guys online in PS4 chat rooms and obviously as a One Piece fan I ask if they read/watch One Piece. (we all had language barriers, they had limited english I have pretty much no Japanese).
They say they don't read or watch it. Is it just luck that I found Japanese guys that don't read or watch One Piece considering it's #1 in Japan?

are the wings on skypean and Shandian people real appendages or just decoration? And why doesn't Enel have wings?
-
are the wings on skypean and Shandian people real appendages or just decoration? And why doesn't Enel have wings?
Enel has drums instead because he's suppose to sum up images of Raijin, god of thunder. There's no in-universe explanation why he doesn't have wings like the rest of them. I assume the wings are appendages given they date from when their ancestors lived on the moon some time B.C. (before Calagara).
-
The best assumption for Enel's missing wings is that he ripped them himself because of the God complex he had as that the God can't be the same as the rest of the people

There is no 'official' answer? Anyway, this sounds the most logical.
That, or Enel is not from the Sky Islands at all :O -

That, or Enel is not from the Sky Islands at all :OThere IS an official answer to where Enel is from. The sky island Birka was his homeland (before he destroyed it), same as it was to his generals and Urouge is also from Birka.

The question was more about Enel's lack of wings/drum ring situation, rather than where he was from.
You're entirely correct about the answer in the case of his homeland though.

I should have separated it into two to say 'there is not official answer for the lack of wing BUT there is one for his homeland….'
ah welll -
Well Birkans have wings
Enel is a Birkan without wings so what this means?
That's what she said

This is more a question about the series in general. A lot of people think One Piece will go at least ten more years, so, let's say it goes exactly that, which would mean it would be about 28 years old by 2025. Is there any other long-running mangas that can compare to that? I think only about Kinnikuman off the top of my head.

Also Ippo will take longer to finish from this point onward than OnePiece. The first 1000 chapters feel like half of the series :wassat:

Hello Galaxy 9000:

What do people think makes an island suitable to come under the control of the Straw Hat pirates? I figure Luffy will take some more territory as the story progresses, but what are the criteria it has to fall under? I began to wonder about this when I had this sudden realisation that Dressrosa never affiliated itself with Luffy's flag. So what makes Dressrosa different from Fishman Island? I guess you could argue that Fishman Island is under constant fire from pirates so it really needed protection, and the only reason Luffy even took it was because of Big Mom. On the other hand, though, if Dressrosa really wants to be a peaceful country and not really have much of an army, then it will have a hard time protecting itself if other countries want to wage war with it. So then protection from a pirate flag makes more sense again. Both are affiliated with the government so that cannot be an issue.
I was just wondering what others feel about this issue. Why was Dressrosa not taken in as Luffy's territory, and so what makes an island suitable to be made Luffy's territory in the first place?

How much wood could a Chopper chop chop if a Chopper could chop wood?
On the same note,
How much wood could a chop-chop fruit chop if a chop-chop fruit could chop wood?
Edit.
Serious question, does anyone know what the holiday break will be like this year, or better yet, is there a good place to look to get this information so one does not have to ask for it over and over? Thanks in advance. -

Good question and I think it sort of merges with the question about what should happen to Dressrosa now without Yonkou protection.
To begin with the question what qualifies as good territory for Luffy, he will only declare something territory if it serves someone else. By the creation of the Strawhat fleet to judge, he isn't interested in power for the sake of power. On Fishman Island Big Mom became an immediate threat to the citizens once Luffy had eaten all of Big Mom's candy, so he felt an obligation to put the place under his wing. With Dressrosa nothing of the such came out, smaller pirate crews can't claim Dressrosa because Kyros would destroy them. Also with the country completely in ruins, I don't think anyone would wish to tax the place for the time being. Meaning that there was simply no need for putting it under his protection, even though I'm sure that if the king had begged for it, Luffy would make it his turf. Indirectly he has, due to Leo and the Tontattas still living there.
So basically, there has to be some form of insentive for him to claim something, in the shape of an external threat that he feel he needs to protect them from.
As for what will happen to Dressrosa in the future, right now I don't see other pirates being interested in putting the place under his wing. But in the long run, people will most likely find some way to extort it, other 100 million rookies may want the place, or Kaido might want revenge on them for renegading against Doflamingo. Not that I think Oda will return to Dressrosa, but I think that with Kaido's huge war everyone can get involved and that things will get alot more unpredictable from now on.

I don't think we have an answer to that at all. I want to say that with Sugar… no with a but. For Jora I would say... yes with an if.

Last I heard Kishido was getting frustrated with some and either left or got banned. I've not seen Kish in a while.
As for the sea water and Jora… Lets remember she transformed the Sunny as it was sitting in sea water. So some transformations would not change back when hit with sea water. Now if it was a painting (like what Nami & co were stuck in) instead of physical transformation.... maybe the painting would 'melt' aka the paints run.
With Sugar.... I'm tempted to say no based on that Kyros was a toy for 10 years. He seemed to know what DFs were, I'd assume at some point in pure desperation he would submerge himself in water, then sea water.

Do you think Chopper's DF is Hito Hito no mi Model mink since his human mode is full of fur? Even Luffy called Zou, an island full of Choppers. Also Chopper learning Electro is likely because it works in defibrillation and revival of nearly dead patients.
-
@'T€:
@$;3564814']Do you think Chopper's DF is Hito Hito no mi Model mink since his human mode is full of fur?
I think it's a valid theory. It's either that or the Hito Hito no mi just works differently from the other Zoans.
Also Chopper learning Electro is likely because it works in defibrillation and revival of nearly dead patients.
Not sure I could imagine this happening. Might be.
-
I think Chopper's hito hito no mi seems different is because its a animal that ate it instead of human.
So far aren't Chopper & Pierre (Gan Fall's 'mount') the only animals that ate a zoan DF (or any df)?
Chopper - reindeer - hito hito no mi (human)
Pierre -sky dot bird - uma uma no mi (horse) if anyone can't remember him=
original form=_zoan form =
But neither have managed a 100% transformation, Chopper still has a fur ruff around the neck and Pierre still had wings…which is unusual. Other zoans didn't just grow new limbs, the arms would change into the front limbs of the animal. If they changed into birds the arms change into wings.
So why wouldn't Pierre's wouldn't front limbs (wings) change into the front limbs of a horse? Also both kept their natural coloring when they transformed, others such as Lucci, Kaku, Lafitte, don't.
I think that the DFs, at least zoans, work slightly bit different on animals than humans.
Humans get to fully transform into a certain animal, while an animal will not do a 100% transformation but keep the original coloring and some other aspect of their original form. Why can Chopper do a better 'final' transformation (into human) than Pierre can do(into horse)? Simple the Hito hito no mi also increases the average animal intelligence to human level, Pierre didn't get a boost in intelligence like Chopper did.
-
Of course, Pierre was a thing. No I cannot recall any other animals who have eaten a Zoan-type fruit. Pekoms is a mink so I doubt he counts; but we have also not seen a full transformation from him so it's hard to judge. Who knows, maybe Pekoms would have an imperfect transformation as well. Anyways, thanks for the reminder. That's probably the answer.

I wouldn't read too much into it. The reason Pierre has wings + 4 legs instead of wings and 2 legs is because this combination of animal and Devil fruit would give Oda a wacky form of pegasus without introducing a whole new type of animal. At least, that's what I presume.

Do you guys think it's possible for a zombie to use Haki?
We know that Haki isn't reliant on a specific body, as Sanji uses Observation Haki while he and Nami switched bodies. But would a zombie be able to? Haki is ambition, spirit, drive. Oars fought with Luffy's fighting style because of the shadow, originally complaining he couldn't stretch. Even if he didn't have the memories of Luffy, he knew he was supposed to stretch. Would Oars be able to use Haki if he had current Luffy's shadow?

it is obvious in your question itself.a zombie has no ambition,it's basically a slave.and having the personality traits of the original doesn't mean it has any will of the original body,or even of it's own.
so i'd say no -

so i'd say noHaki is a fighting skill. It's something where if you expect it to be there it will. That's haki, self-belief. Nothing should suggest that a zombie shadow wouldn't be able to harness this skill.
Can someone else fill in there opinion too? You may not be wrong, but you aren't necessarily right either.

haki is a manifestation of will.that it can be used as a fighting skill is true, but it's source is primarily a person's ambition, will,ki(energy around every living thing),person's mood, etc.
a zombie has none of them.as i said above,a shadow has no will of it's own.it is different from the "hearts" that law switched.
i mean, they can't even think for themselves.they have no will, spirit, ambition cause they are not alive.
and what do you mean by "self-belief"?zombie cannot have self belief.heck, they have no belief.they are just puppets.
haki is not, you know, some mp meter that would be there if you expect it to.
