No, it isn't the same as the bomb because it was independent of Luffy's success over Croc.
The example with the beanstalk just proofs there is no issue with seeking help from others.

I would hope JB is up and still going after two attacks but the fact of the matter is he used a pretty strong move and it had no effect on sabo, meanwhile sabo has landed two hits no problem. Obviously he wouldn't be ohkoed as that would be very disappointing. I think we can all agree oda likes hyping characters up and that's what he is doing with sabo. JB might escape somehow be it doesn't seem like sabo wants to kill him, but he's certainly not losing the fight. And I know you don't like sabo, I don't like aikinu, but I know he's a strong ass guy and just bc I think it would be cool if he was defeated that doesn't mean he will be

I would say Luffy's version of geppou would fly DD up to the top middle of the cage, leaving him to fall down in the exact center (maybe already unconscious after contact, so no more cage while DD is falling down), though I also don't know why he would go back into 4th. Just a huge uppercut up to that center could be nice as well.

Chapters numbers that read the same forwards and backwards could be the best ones, intentionally. :ninja:

I wonder how somebody like Vergo woul hold his ground against Sabo or Burgess. After Dressrosa out of Mingos subordinates only V stayed extremely impressive(imho). It would be cool to see pre-mera mera Sabo vs PH Vergo. Both having CQC style and staff-like weapons.

Also even as early as Sabo has his devil fruit, in this chapter Mera Mera shows itself to be very useful against purely physical fighter like Burgess.
Fusion of Sabos fighting style with his new powers looks and works better than I expected.

Will be interesting to see if Sabo defeats Burgess outright or if Burgess runs away somehow, let's be honest he's a git who pounces on those who are injured to steal their df's. I hope Sabo defeats him and Fujitora takes him to Impel Down, would be poetic justice for Ace.

I thought that was a really enjoyable chapter. Sabo protecting Luffy was really sweet and looked cool, Doflamingo is still the best villain in the series and I liked Zoro's moment, too. I thought the chapter actually did a good job in conveying tension (in the sense that how the Birdcage will be pushed back and how the time limit issue of Luffy needing to recover for 4 minutes and the Birdcage closing in 3 minutes will be resolved). I really enjoyed this one.

Its not a plothole. This entire time Doflamingo has been taking his time. It goes to show you he enjoys it and he's Evil as hell.

Luffy is running away hiding away and Doflamingo doesn't like that. So he speeds the birdcage up to force him out.

He's going to escape, and Sabo says in the chapter that he doesn't have a personal vendetta against BB's crew. I do wonder if Blackbeard would try saving Burgess from being executed if he were caught, probably would deem it as a waste of time but I would like to think he values one of his original crew members a lot.

I think Doffy will need to receive a super powered attack to finish him, so a red hawk to the face would suffice or maybe a red hawk gatling would be a nice way to wrap things up since Luffy loves ending his major boss fights with a million punch combo, crocodile received it, so did Lucci, might be the way for this bird to go too.

No, as mentioned earlier Burgess knew the replacement Lucy he fought in the arena was a fraud but didn't know who he was. During the last chapter Burgess specifically said he wanted Luffy's Gomu Gomu fruit so he did not think Luffy ate the Mera Mera fruit.

I enjoyed the chapter (like I said above), some pretty cool moments from Barto and Doffy.

I like that it seems Zoro doesn't have any intention of trying to cut the bird cage.

Either we'd end up with Zoro unnecessarily failing at a task he should never have taken on, or the seemingly invincible bird cage being cut open by one dude.

There would be no particularly good outcome.

As far as the Sabo-Burgess stuff goes, I like that Burgess took a named (and rather awesomely drawn) attack from Sabo but was back up and scrapping again by the end of the chapter.

My only complaint is Burgess' strange attempt at hitting a logia user with a CoA-less attack.

Especially considering the fact that Burgess seems to be using CoA at the end of the chapter.

Might have already been said, but that could just be a complete dodge, like what Kuzan did in the war.

Was going to point out a login could just disperse his body to avoid an attack even tho it might have CoA. Caesar dodged many of luffys attacks just becoming gas tho luffy knew to use CoA. But this could lead to a full scale war in the new world which I'm really hoping for. Sunny crew draws in big mum, burgess being defeated maybe captured by marines after pissing off blackbeard, and of course doffy being defeated and drawing Kaidou to the conflict. This arc really needs to end.

Great chapter! I really loved the panel with Doffy wrecking the gladiators and the really well drawn attack by Sabo.

It's interesting that the cage will close before Luffy can recover so obviously the combined effort of Team Franky and Team Zoro or some new outside force has to stop the cage or at least slow it down. Of course slowing it down only helps if the cage vanishes when Doffy is defeated.

Next chapter is either gonna end with Luffy getting Haki or him defeating Dofla. I feel like Oda wants to drag this arc a little more, so Dofla is not gonna be defeated that quickly lol. Watch the next 4 minutes go by slower than 6 minutes did tho
