@Maju:
not really that much of a bulshit when you are talking about luffy,one who wuld not let anyone die,so it would probably be stuck protecting everyone instead of fighting doflamingo.
it's basically the same that happened with crocodile..sure the others were nearby, but damaged and really not able to not be a burden..so luffy went alone against croco
I've reread the chapter and I think the terrible translation doesn't help the least. Maybe a better one will alleviate the pain
But it doesn't explain everything. Part of my grief has to do with all the talking that disrupts the rythm of the fight - especially Luffy & the Robin group yelling at each other over half a mile. But there's really something about the battle choregraphy too. Last week's felt dynamic and interesting, whereas here it just look like they're pummeling each other while doing chit-chat. And what about Trebol ?
There's also a lot of stuff that makes the chapter feel redundant with previous ones yet could have been off-paneled. For example I don't think we absolutely needed to be told right on the spot that the dwarves will try and heal Law, neither did we have a need for a double spread showing the birdcage and explaining (again) what a threat it is. We've already had a dozen pages spread over several chapters to tell us that DoulaMongo is reaaally a big meanie who means to kill every last person on the island oh-my-god-isn't-he-awful-see-how-much-he-deserves-the-beatdown. We already know all of that, thank you dear author, now please get on with the bloody fight.
So, to sum it up, the chapter isn't bad per se. It's just that it didn't show much that is either new or unexpected, and as such leaves me more frustrated than content.
