Best. Cover. Ever.
Volume 77 Predictions/Discussion

Best. Cover. Ever.
-
The cover is nice, but i think it could've been a little better.
-
So Guesses for who will be on the next cover and where? We are missing 4 of the strawhats so i can't imagine them being on it. I'm thinking both luffy and Law where doflamingo is with Kyros, Zoro and Sabo instead of diamante, Pika and Trebol. In the bottom line we will have franky, robin, usopp, bartolemeo, Cavendish, Rebecca, Sai, Viola, and Riku
-
-
Mr 5, Wiper, Kamakiri, Braham, Jabra, Blueno, Cindry, Moriah, Hannibal, Dragon, and Law all had skin tones colored differently from the norm.
Some are less obvious than others.By Oda you mean? Because as I see them in the colorspreads, the hue variation of their skintones compared to, say, luffy, is hardly noticeable. Moria is an exception indeed but I think it was hinted he´s not actually human? (snakeneck theory going around some years ago IIRC) and Cindry is a zombie.
-
Bellamy is going to mess with the next cover.
-
How nice would it have been to see Monet and Vergo on this cover? Understandable why they aren't but I would have loved it.
-
Fucking Amazing!!
Too bad that Vergo, Monet, Rosinante and Viola are not in as posts above me (understandble why)
Anw FANTASTIC
CANT WAIT FOR BETTER QUALITY
-
Can be my favorite cover in years. Many years!
-
Not my favorite cover, but I appreciate how simple it is. Plus we finally got a new non-strawhat volume cover!
-
Cool Cover. The one person I wish was ghosted on there, would be Corazon, since we haven't seen an official color of him yet. Plus the rest of the Flashback is in this chapter.
-
Bellamy is going to mess with the next cover.
i am a Bellamy fan… but a crying bellamy is the worst possibility for the next Cover...
The cover is cool, bad theres no Vergo or Corazon...
-

Moriah was confirmed to be human by Oda IIRC.
You're right about the hue variations being minimal, but it's quite obvious that Oda intended for these characters to be darker than what we're shown. My guess is that it's pretty difficult to shade in all of these characters so using the same colors for the majority of them is less time consuming. -
We already have Luffy's bunch in the cover of volume 76 though
The antagonists cover always comes before the protagonists cover.
-
Oh well..
No Vergo on cover but likes of Buffalo or Baby 5 get a space on it.. Ehh.
Corazon not being there is also somehow sad.
Maybe volume 78 will have Law and Doflamingo with Trebol and Roci behind each of them.
Probably not. Oh well.Still pretty cool cover, a year or more from now I will surely get it in english.
-

Naah! Just screwing around. I'm sure Oda can do something cool with Bellamy.
-
I actually like how different from regular villain covers this looks, and a far cry from the clusterfuck that was volume 65 with NFP. . .and Luffy firefisting out of Fukaboshi's stomach.
Yeah, bigger and meaner officers would've been more memorable, but it's simplicity and low key is welcomed too. Though I guess many would exchange Diamante with Pink in there. . . . . . . .
(actually, it's cool out of the officers Oda put right at the center the most memorable of em all.)
-
No Vergo on cover means Vergo has more appearance and stuff to do later in the story.
-

Does that applies for Monet too?:ninja:
Also Baby 5 is there and we probably gonna see her mariage with Sai on some cover story or later on some arc as a couple already so that means nothing
-

Well I hope for it as well.
Its bit weird that all Officers beside him gotten place on covers. Even Monet had some space on covers.
-
Next cover are Vergo, Monet and Corazon. They all actually survived. Vergo and Monet had many metal harpies babies and Corazon babysits them ocasionally.
-

Monet already been shown on cover, so no.
EDIT: Volume 67 cover we see monet next to CC in gas form.
!

Vergo had reasons to be on couple of covers now but yet Oda hasn't drawn him on there. So Oda probably has plan for that.

Maybe he will save Doflamingo ?
Like from being finished off by Law and Luffy ? He is likely alive, he might make comeback. He was most impressive out of seats till now so he surely is capable of A LOT.
I would love to see his fight with Sabo(preferably pre-Mera Mera Sabo of course) as their styles of fighting are somehow alike but we all know it will not happen.
-
Does anyone else dislike the rectangle of executives? Looks bad to me, and I'm still disappointed that we won't corazon in a cover
-

You don't catch the irony:ninja:
As yourself said Vergo will have more to show on the future = his alive
So Monet is alive too.
And already covered the thing about Vergo not being on cover or Monet being on 67 with Baby 5 and her mariage
-
Next cover are Vergo, Monet and Corazon. They all actually survived. Vergo and Monet had many metal harpies babies and Corazon babysits them ocasionally.
I'd like to see the three seats of Corazon; Vergo with his lame haircut, Rocinante and Law.
Lol Vergo is the only one without df.

-
I thought there was an unspoken agreement that Vergo had a metal DF in loving memory(?) of that guy who kept insisting about it (and later got banned but dunno why)
I
d love to see how heart seat themed Vergo
d look. -

d look.Vagabond was banned for derailing threads with his theory on Vergo and for making his signature out of mod msg saying he gets infracted for being douchebag.
As for Vergo heart suit I expect that there are chances for Vergo getting back to his old suit(though I cannot imagine that bastard covered in hearts).
It feels unlikely but if Doflamingo manages to escape, unite with his crew and Vergo is alive and will manage to meet up Mingo then V probably would get back to being heart seat as he has nothing to do with marines anymore and Mingo doesnt hold heart seat for Law anymore. Also assuming that Vergo could be a DF user
! it would explain crack in Sanjis leg- I mean that if his leg was made of some alloy it would be very heavy and dense. It was bit werid for me that guy managed to crack Sanjis bone with part of his leg that he used- I mean its not hardest part of leg to pick for attacking.
! If he is equaly hard through his entire leg and if he would be made of metal then closer to end of his leg, bigger momentum it would have. It would be like swinging metal bat- closer to end of it, bigger force of hit there is behind it - metal bat is more dangerous than wooden one. Also metal weapons can bounce back with "trampoline effect"(its interesting thing, easily found on google- bit like small scale Tekkai Utsugi) when hit with extreme force - so bouncing back a lot of damage to ball that is hit with it.As for haki Vergos haki- Pica hyped it for himself as well lately and it ended up very badly for him. Seats in general are shown not to be as big threat as we thought they are. Vergo being the one that was most actively working as it seems(he was boss of New World Mariness base) might have made him to be "on point" with his actions and not f****** around. Still as it is now, I dont think that Vergo is that much of a monster as we expected him to be + we had some of DFs in Doflamingos Family that were alike to those from Alabasta. It would be somehow point of making him less impressive in general by giving him DF as he would be thrown out of exclusive club of badasses without Devil Fruits.
Machvise - Miss Valentine with Machvise being most likely manipulator of weight of objects.
Gladius - Mr5 - bursting and exploding thing.Vergo being alloy/ metal man would be alike to some degree with Mr 1 and his Devil Fruit.
-
Same arguments as Vagabanned, that are only focused on making Sanji look better instead of actual arguing about how could Vergo ever possibly be a df user while not ever using his df powers.
But meeh, coming back to the cover.
I like how they look divided in 4 different trios; the three higher executives, then below Doula we have the other trio that seemed quite strong(Lao G, Señor Pink and Gladius) and then two more trios of the one-shotted ones, lol, even Baby 5 got one shot'ed by cupid.
Except Jola, she is the one that got hit more times than any other executive, considering that even Momo hit her with a stick.
-
I don't get what you guys find in this cover, it looks pretty "meh" to me.
-
this is the third volume to not show Luffy or one of the straw hats and again folows the pattern Baroque works and CP9 did by showing the main antagonist villain group
also it should be noted that every time before this in volume 21 with Barouqe works and volume 42 with CP9 the strawhat group has always goten a cover similar to the one before it, almost a versus type deal
so my guess is next chapter we Have Luffy and law together (where Doffy would be) as well as the strawhat crew behind them (minus sanji, nami, choper and brook) to be like the executives and all there other allies by Luffy/Laws feet

It can be with at least the ones that have taken down an executive, Hajrudin, Sai, Barto, Cabbage, Franky, Leo, Kyros, Zoro…...and Cabbage again xD, neehh jk, Law and Luffy in the top/center.

let me live this fantasy
-
I would've thought that Rosinante would have gotten to be on the cover since Law's past will be covered, but I guess Oda had other plans for the cover. Considering that they are the villains of the current arc, the Donquixote pirates being on the cover still matches the theme.
-
That is definitely a cover i like, can
t wait to have my hands on one. Vergo obviously can
t be on the cover, because he`s undercover, so his cover would be blown, when he would show himself in such an open way ^^ -

-
That cover does look appealing.
To bad Vergo couldn't get his spot up there.
-
What I'd love is a color page not focusing on the strawhats for once.
-

Please stop it. There's no excuse for not giving characters different skintones on coloured images. There's just none.
-
A radical notion: What if Vergo isn't on the cover not because he's being saved for later or because he's an undercover agent and not part of the fighting squad, but because he's been dead for literally 7 books now?
Contrary to popular opinion, Oda is under no obligation to show every single one of his characters on a cover just so a niche of his fanbase can know their canon colours. Sure it's nice when we get to see these things, but they aren't owed to us. Oda has every right to skip someone over because they don't fit in any of the cover for the storyline they appeared in and he has every goddamn right to experiment with artistic things like the colour tones of volume 76.
-
For the love of me I can not get why are people so worked up about Vergo, Monet, Rosinante and Violet not being on the cover… It shows the current crew, who are actively in the process of being villains in the current arc, in their current look. Why would it possibly show past/not present/deceased members...
CP9 cover didn't show Blueno as he was already out of the game... Baroque Works cover only showed the remaining top officers...

Well Sugar has been defeated in volume 76. But aside from that yea, having Vergo on the cover when he only appears for 6 panels maybe?

This post is deleted!

Chapter 532, Shichibukai colour spread. Wish there were more like these too, though.

Buffalo has literally been out of the picture at this point for at least 30 chapters….

I think a better way to phrase it is that the cover is showcasing DD Family members that are physically on the island of Dressrosa.
Also, Vergo and Monet are suppose to be dead so their absence is natural. I know, I know they probably aren't but Oda doesn't want to reveal that yet.
As for Corazon, it's possible that we may get another (brief) flashback during the final Doflamingo bout. Perhaps Vol 78 may feature him.

Monet already appeared on a cover, Vergo and Corazon only Dofla family members that haven't appeared on a cover page.
