Chapter 732: "The Underground World"

Ussop and Dwarves vs Trebol. Usopp unleashes Haki in accordance with his lie earlier in the arc. Usopp defeats Trebol. Probably not…......
it'll be nice to see growth even after 2 years of training. But I don't think it'll be this early in the last half of the grandline

Ussop and Dwarves vs Trebol. Usopp unleashes Haki in accordance with his lie earlier in the arc. Usopp defeats Trebol. Probably not…......
LOL at the joke about Trbol. but about haki….
Well considering most of his lies come true at some point in some way, Usopp will likely will have haki at some point (but not yet, it always takes time before the lies come true)
But they almost never fit the exact bill, its a variation the lie touches on.
Lie = He fought a giant goldfish in South Blue whose poop was so huge it was mistaken for an island.
Truth = He encountered one called the Island Eater when leaving Little Garden in Grand Line, it did have poop mistaken for islands. But Usopp didn't fight it, it was killed by the giants.(con't of lie above)
Lie= After killing the giant goldfish he gave it to an island of dwarves.
Truth= He just met a dwarven culture that sees him as a hero. ... oh yeah there are giant goldfish here tooLie = he fought a mole woman
Truth = He fought Mrs. Merry Christmas who ate the mole zoan DF, so yeah this was exact match= he fought a mole womanOh he also mentions a Cerebus and dragon when playing with the kids ... and both creatures showed up in Strawhats adventures.
So I think he will get haki at some point in the future but won't be King's. (I would LOVE to see that but I admit its a Usopp-fangirl dream not reality) While a lot are going for observation, I'm with the camp that hopes to see Usopp with armament (or both!) I'd love to see Usopp grab a pebble from the beach (infuse with haki like Kuja do to their arrows) and fire it with a slingshot and totally blow away an enemy
We are still waiting for two more lies... and I don't know which one I want to see most XD
1- the 8000 followers (Some joke that between the dwarves and the giants, the will be those followers)
2- and an alien store-owner !

How does it make a difference? Monster point is by far his best form, as it's so much stronger than every other form he has. This shows that since they've recruited him, he hasn't evolved as a fighter at all other than post time-skip when he can now control his form and has some variation. Even against a fast opponent, his monster form is so much stronger than everything else especially since he can tank hits as well.
I am talking about him switching constantly to different forms as he did during Drum Island, he never bothers with that tactic anymore. He's been a huge disappointment and it's irritating since he could have been something special but is put along with Nami and Ussop as the scaredy useless trio unless it's the typical 1v1 end of the arc scenario.
As a big Chopper fan (he's my favorite Strawhat) I am sadly going to have to agree with you. It pains me to admit that Chopper could be so much better right now. I was really a fan of Monster point when he first used it, but now the novelty has really worn off. Is he stronger in it? Yeah, but he's a much bigger target (he won't be able to tank hits from all these powerhouses in the New World) and he is not as fast as some of his other forms. Seriously, Luffy is going to have to train Chopper himself at this point. If he is not going to bother using his other forms, then he needs to desperately improve his fighting ability and his physical power.
Chopper has crazy potential. Can you imagine Luffy ,or anyone else who is strong, having the ability to change forms for any situation they are in? All Chopper needs is a form to make him fly and he would be the complete package lol. Out of the weak trio, he is the only one who is weak based solely on his mentality. He was with everyone else beating up the Franky family for crying out loud! I was extremely disappointed he didn't even try to at least put guard point up or something when they were all about to be killed by dofla. I hope he still ends up doing something in this arc.

If the timeskip was the halfway mark for One Piece, we're already more than. 20% of the wayto the end..

If the timeskip was the halfway mark for One Piece, we're already more than. 20% of the wayto the end..
How'd you come up with over 20% if the TS was the halfway point of the story? I HIGHLY doubt FI and PH covered 10% each.
-
The only thing we know for a fact about in terms of the series' current progress is that last year, One Piece was 60% of the way done. That means Punk Hazard and Fishman Island took up roughly 10% of the final half.
!
-
Where did it state OP was 60% done?

Where did it state OP was 60% done?
It's at the top of the image that I linked. It's from the One Piece newspapers that came out at the end of last year.
-
The first half had 600 chapters, so FI and PH took up like a sixth.

Uh yeah, the picture stopped working after 5 minutes or so. It's fixed now, so whatever.

I feel sad just thinking about the end. Come on, Oda. 12 more years, that's all I ask. I want to at least be 30 years old before the series ends.

Congrats on actually getting to meet Oda
Thank you! Was a long road but that's what made it worth it!

Of course being a zombie helps. Zobies are animated by external force - shadow - so it doesn't matter if their spines are broken or whatever. They actually don't need spines at all to move - there were plush toys Zombies. (although some body structures may be more favourable than the others). Best case scenario snapping the neck would slow a Zombie down.
Normally you can't move with broken spine, as neural connections in the spine are severed and electric impulses carrying the information about movement don't flow. If they are somehow not severed, than you can't move because of pain and fear of severing connections. Neither of those factors affects Zombies.…Oars was defeated by a broken spine though. So it does affect zombies lol.

@•Ace•:
I saw this posted in Konoha Library(Narutoforums): http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2mw9xfk&s=5#.UrfYM7a9Kc0 Can somebody translate it? Ignore the Naruto one.
Havent read all pages ahead so sorry if this was already translated properly. but from what i see its something like this.
buggy: santa claus leaves presents. so our plan is to steal it.
guys from buggy crew; as expected from our captain!
someone: give back chicken and cake!
buggy: what? i havent touched the food!
luffy flying away ;)ps. i probably did some mistakes. maybe buggy gave presents not took them :p but i think he talks about going in after santa and recieving presents (as for himself ;p) that would fit xd
ps2 seems like naruto didint know santa isnt real when he was supposed to pose as one :D -
Thank you! Was a long road but that's what made it worth it!
How I imagine it went:
Seriously though, that's great. I'm super jealous. :)

See what if somebody with Zoro's physical strength had robin's fruit?
It would be beyond deadly. Robin should just have lifted heavy ass weight every day during the time skip. Basically increases her power exponentially
haha good idea. Lets kill robin, wait for her fruit and then find it and feed Zoro with it!
He,d be like "I used to be a swordsman but i took robins df to the throat" -
I say this right now those ships we saw at the end of the chapter have nothing what so ever to do with Kaido.
-
@kuma:

even though we know Dofla is shipping stuff to kaido and that kaido has a zoan army fitting with the animal theme?
-

Think about man there is no way one of Kaido's men is going to let some nobody from DD crew mug him off like that. If they threated to stop his supply of Zoan I'm sure Kaido would come down to dressrosa and cut DD bollocks off.
-
…Oars was defeated by a broken spine though. So it does affect zombies lol.
well, by shattered spine. So, yeah, technically, apparently when main skeletal construction is destroyed to the point, when it can no longer support rest of the body. This is the only solution I see between description how the Zombies function and that what happened t Oars. Unless you say that we can't apply logic to this situation at all, which would also make any of arguments you could possibly made invalid.

This was always about logic not following actually.
Basically how Oda has had to depower Robin's fruit since she'd be essentially invincible against pretty much any melee type fighter.
Logically, Robin would have been able to defeat someone like Ryuuma, or Zoro's zombie, in the same way she defeated Pell, but that's obviously not the case.

also, pretty much the majority of onepiece's ships have animal themed figureheads,so it's not really that much of a hint

Croc relied entirely on his Logia abilities and had no Haki. Enel had an elemental disadvantage. And they still had their wins!
If Trébol is indeed a Logia, he's pretty much guaranteed to be stronger than Monet, who was just an officer. And what do we know about Trebol? Does he have Haki? is he a logia or just have weird DF?
What Monet has to do with this discussion? Well Trebol can be stronger than Monet, so what?
We don't know what Robin or Trebol can actually do. The only SH aside from Luffy who showed his powers is Franky and people want him to fight Pica. Because he showed something, people started grouping Franky together with M3 or even worse some people consider him stronger than Sanji, completely ignoring the fact that other SH didn't displayed their abilities. Even tough Robin would have destroyed Baby-5 and Buffalo the same way Franky did it.
It's also wrong to group Trebol or members of other seats with Vergo. The fact that they hold the same or similar position or title does not mean they are close in strength. Shichibukai, SP9 agents and Supernovas are good example, people with the same title or position but the difference in strength is huge. Vergo is Kidd (powerhouse) and Trebol is Bonney or Caponne (weird ability) or Vergo is Michawk and Trebol is Moria. And they can be close in strength.
Also abilities is what matters not title or anything else. In this case Perona is a good example, she was a subordinate but could have killed the whole crew, while her captain would lose to Luffy in one on one fight. So we should look at what Trebol can do and at what Robin can do. In case of Trebol we know very little (almost nothing), in case of Robin we know not enough to say that she will lose. -
The reason why I would wish that Robin defeats Trebol or any other DD member is because I want to see her power improvement. The same goes for other SH members aside "monster trio".
We know,or maybe not that maybe Blackbeard pirates will be final opponents to SH. So I guess and it's still just my opinion that each SH will fight a member of that crew.
And that crew is much more stronger than DD pirates…hell they are from level 6 prisoners and not to mention those who are members from the very beginning.
If Robin,or any other SH member isn't allowed to use or show his/her full potential and power than how much of help will they to be luffy in that battle? Will the monster trio beat all of them and save the day?
Then, they aren't SH as a group if its forbidden for them to fight someone who is stronger than they are and gain experiences in those battles, improving fighting and other skills. Every one piece fan has their fav member and that fan deserves to see their fav member improvement as much as any other.
In the end Luffy will be pirate king which means that the SH crew will be the strongest pirate crew in the world, each one of them individually.
Thats why I wish that the hierarchy between strengths and matching battles fades away.
Of course that luffy will be taking down major bosses because he is the main character but still I still its not fair if the stronger ones should only do fights with stronger opponents while those who may be also quite strong need only to be against the weaker ones.
I hope that some of you will understand what I was trying to say,and I dont wish to offend anyone.
It is just my remark and my personal opinion. -
Are we not getting spoilers today?

Not necessaries if they were Zombies.
Case at point: you claim, based on single fact, that zombies can be defeated by snapping the spine. That's inductive reasoning, which means it doesn't guarantee true results. Your premise may be faulty, since spine in question was shattered rather than snapped.
I claim, based upon description how the the Zombies work, that they can't simply be defeated by snapping spine (but it's possible that some form of spine damage can defeat them for good). That's deductive reasoning, which guarantees truth, if my premises were true.
Now we know that Robin can twist someone's neck and snap the spine, but according to my reasoning it may be not enough to defeat the Zombie - a Zombie may simply need to relocate it's spine back. Now, when a spine is shuttered rather than snapped, relocation is impossible or only possible in complicated surgery. Of course, this can't be even an issues for zombies, that aren't build around skeletal frame.
You may say, that Zombies are Robin's natural enemies in similar way that Luffy was natural enemy Enel. No logic was harmed and Robin's power didn't need to downplayed. She maybe could hold them down with her power, but that wouldn't be very effective in the long run. -
Are we not getting spoilers today?
we are not even getting a chapter tomorrow is it is what you are asking.
the next chapter will probably be released around the end of the month

I was just talking about how Robin's ability has been downplayed. Which is 100% true.

…riiight.
I was just talking about how Robin's ability has been downplayed. Which is 100% true.
That's true. Well, unfortunately Oda didn't choose to explore her abilities more. I really liked to see more of her. But I also know there are some reasons why that's how it is - there are two types of Robin's fights: 1 When she for some reason can't use her powers on the opponent (opponent being logia, or opponent standing in such a place, where fighting him would damage historical site) 2. one-sided fights. Since totally one sided battles aren't very interested, once they got introduced, there's no point in showing much more of them. Essentially I think, that Oda thinks her fights would be too boring and he fears destroying dynamic of the crew. Robin's power is so much hax, it's actually hard to deal with in the satisfying way.And there's the fact that her powers are just perfect for crowd control.
I really wish we'd see more from Robin now. -

I really wish we'd see more from Robin now.Yep, I agree with everything there.
If Robin's ability had remained unlimited she'd be able to easily defeat enemies that the monster trio would struggle against, and it just wouldn't fit the crew dynamic. Hence, the toning down/negation of powers.

As far as I remember Oda originally planned OP to take 5 years till the end. If the 60%-thing is something stated by Oda we can be sure that what we have now will be actually less than 60% in the end. Oda always plans to make the stories short and compact, but when he gets into detail he will write more and more ;)
haha good idea. Lets kill robin, wait for her fruit and then find it and feed Zoro with it!
He,d be like "I used to be a swordsman but i took robins df to the throat"If Zoro had Robins Devilfruit he could use an pretty much unlimited number of swords… that would be totally awesome :O
-
What everyone's saying about Robins haxness is limited by Oda is true to a certain extent. What I want to know is, how her power works? I mean she defeated Pell and other reasonably strong fighters rather effortlessly, do the limbs she sprouts have unlimited strength or muiltiply her strength? (theoratically)Whats stopping her from snapping Garps back? Do blossoming limbs have their own extended strength. I always assumed her ability was limited by how strong her original body is. (hypothetically) If Trebols base strength, minus ability, is stronger than Robins, how does her ability allow her to so much as budge a guy like that? Unless her limbs have thier own additional strength.

Crap
Dude they're seat for a god them reason, they above Monet's level, the guy is the personal guard of Sugar aka Doflamingo's world and you think Robin has a fighting chance against him, get real
-
What is wrong with the spoilers lately?
-
If Zoro had Robins Devilfruit he could use an pretty much unlimited number of swords… that would be totally awesome :O
Sure he could use them, but the Hana Hana No Mi is limited to the user's own body parts so most of the time he'd just be lugging around a ton of metal then in battle have to pass them around.
-
I really don't like leo for some reason I hope someone from DD crew does a real number on him. Also I hope Ussop has some interaction with
Hajrudin at some point in the arc. -

wasnt he even called the highest officer, to say the strongest of the three?
or was that just another word for the rank "elite officer" they all have? -
wasnt he even called the highest officer, to say the strongest of the three?
or was that just another word for the rank "elite officer" they all have?Yeah but he's got to be really strong, if he's the bodyguard of Sugar DD most valuable subordinate you know he's got to be a right beast.

wasnt he even called the highest officer, to say the strongest of the three?
or was that just another word for the rank "elite officer" they all have? They hold the same rank (Vergo, Diamante, Trebol and Pica)

WG's idea of the alliance may differ with yours .
i see it as if it was alliance then when riko regains his place as a king of dresrosa .. the alliance could be ended with no troubles
and marines won't be interfering
but if dresrosa is a part of the WG then that would be a problem specially that the revolutionaries are up to something there
