That page just means they've finally found people who they can trust, they can accept their food without being afraid of being poisoned/whatever, which is also the reason momonosuke refused to accept any food from caesar and the kids until he gave up and ate the fruit. Luffy simply took the "samurais don't hunger" thing literally.

If you mean something has happened in kinemon's and momonosuke's past/trip, that much was already implied and has little to do with the new chapter.

I see that there is some semblance between Nami & Rebecca in their history= Both were poor girls associated with a group of people who are downtrodden (going with the comment of Rebecca being one of the 'convict gladiators' on pg 20) and want to use their skills to free their people from the oppressor that's ruled for a long time.

I totally think Luffy is building an army of pirate allies for the final war in the story(Barto, Chinjou, etc.). It's definitely going to be like how Whitebeard called up all his pirate allies for Marineford, but you know, Luffy instead. That will be amazing.

On another note, I really wish Oda knew how to design significant women better. Seriously, since the time skip all the significant adult women look strikingly similar to Nami and/or Robin.

Tsundere is a common character archetype typically seen in romantic situations. The simplest explanation is that it's composed of two words that mean aloof and lovestruck. So it's someone who has a crush on someone else, but tries to play it off as if they are ambivalent. If you ever watched the Nickelodeon cartoon Hey Arnold, Helga was a tsundere. I think Asuka from Evangelion can be considered one as well. Uhhh… there are way too many examples to think of... but if it's Japan and you have teenagers in a romantic plot or sub-plot, there's almost certainly a tsundere in there somewhere. If you can imagine a character saying something like, "It's not that I like you or anything!" While blushing furiously, that's a tsundere.

Anyway, what I'm actually trying to get across is a sort of false-reluctance while holding admiration. Cavendish got along fine with Luffy before he knew his identity, and since things are likely to get pear shaped before the arc ends, he'll probably have to ally himself with Luffy to survive at some point.

Also, I'm calling it. Otakumeo's suitcase is full of bounty posters that he wants Luffy to autograph. He and Cavendish have been giving each other definition by being opposite from one another since they were introduced. Cavendish ruins every poster he finds with Worst Generation pirates on it, Otakumeo keeps them all as pristine as possible. Plus, it will give Usopp and Chopper a chance to show off their new signatures.

Oh, and Bishonen is normally used as a physical characteristic. Like a pretty boy. Doesn't conflict with a "hot and cold" personality.

Want to point out that we don't know anything about Nami's real family by blood so for all we know she and Rebecca might be related in some way. It's not likely, but with Oda, who knows? He's pulled off some truly awesome connections in the past.

That said, Barty stole the show this chapter. Good God. I'm now a fan even if it breaks my head-cannon of him (granted I was one of the ones who theorised that his connection to Luffy was that of a fan) - I did not expect quite as fanboyish a reaction as we got but I think it softens his hard character a lot, the fact that he's harsh to everyone else, but such a blushing school-girl when it comes to Luffy-senpai~.

His strenght, his leadership, his connection with Rebecca, the fact that just after 20 years, he's completely forgotten by Dressrosa's populace ( shared by the past of the toys of Dressrosa. something i noticed this chapter is that all those prisoners/gladiators know Rebecca really well. Also when we first saw Rebecca some fodders called her the "undefeated woman" http://www.batoto.net/read/_/163966/one-piece_ch704_by_mangarule/16 . We also learn that you get free if you win 1000 times. Rebecca probably was one of those gladiators and gained her freedom. I dont think she won all those battles with her own strength but someone did something or lost something to set her free.

Wow… what a chapter. Fantastic.

I guess the most important thing to talk about right off that bat is also the fact that was most underrepresented in the chapter itself: Luffy now has an army. Don Chinjao gave him his army. Barto and his crew are on his side. All the gladiators will fight with him. Add into it that the Dwarves and the Toys, and Luffy is going to be leading a huge army when push comes to shove in this arc. Rehearsal for the future, I would assume.

Perhaps the next most important thing to happen this chapter is the snippet of a conversation we got to hear between Blackbeard (who, going by his den-den mushi, is starting to look quite a but mire like his name sake, which is cool) and Burgess. "Isn't Shiliew the same though?" "But you see, I still can't trust Aokiji." The implications of these two sentences are amazing, and, quite frankly, alarming. I think the best way to take this, as another user pointed out, is that they're referring to their previous positions in the World Government. Which means, Blackbeard is either currently working with Aokiji, or he's trying to recruit him for some purpose. Either way, this is an interesting development, and it would be a rather shocking turn of events.

Barto. Barto, Barto, Barto. While I wasn't a fan of him when he was acting like a straight up scumbag, I'm still not sold on him as a huge fan boy. This could get real annoying, real quick. Oda is going to have to be very careful with how he doles out the fanaticism. Though, now that he is a "good" guy, it does make the matter of where the Mera-Mera ends up a bit more interesting.

Finally, Nami. I mean, Nami. I mean Rebecca! We always give Oda crap about how all his attractive female characters tend to resemble Nami, but this is ridiculous. Putting that aside, her plight, while not exactly moving is rather interesting, and, for me, it rules her out as a potential crew member. (Actually this chapter ruled everyone out, but I'll get to that in a moment.) When Don Flamingo is overthrown, the country will be without a King. Someone is going to have to take over. For me, that someone is obviously going to be Mr. Toy Soldier. He seems to be the one leading the current rebellion against Don Flamingo, so it only makes sense for him to be named King by his supporters, even if it is in a reluctant Dalton-esque way. After that we'll probably see Rebecca and the head Dwarf (can't remember his name at the moment) become the leader's of the army, and that's why they won't join. (Barto will just become an ally. Luffy won't make him leave his crew–he would never even make the offer.)

While the tournament is on break, it looks like we're in for some very good character development all around from the participants. Though that 15 minute window does make me wonder if block D will ever even get to fight. After all, the resistance is on the move now, and it can't take them long to get there.

Overall this was a pretty fantastic chapter, with the only downside being Rebecca. I mean Nami! Oh, wait... No, I got it right. Rebecca...

Random Thoughts:

Looks like Caribou is actually going to fight for the Granny. That's actually pretty self-less. Plus he's declaring war on Kaidou (as Garibou or whatever his name is though) while doing so. This is definitely going somewhere interesting. I just kind of hope it'll get there already.
For a brief second, I must admit, I was terrifies Barto was going to reveal himself as Sabo.
Blackbeard's den-den mushi is adorably evil.
Just hearing Blackbeard speak gives me chills.
Luffy does what any good American does when he goes to Sam's or Costco: eats all the samples and buys none of it.
She sounds like a Samurai. Because she doesn't get hungry. This is going someplace dark.
I like that Luffy escaped and took her down without even needing to use his hands. Can't go spilling that Bento.

Man, that image of all those gladiators is pretty dark and brutal. As is their situation.
M. Toy Soldier has to have been someone important before he was turned into a toy. I'm thinking, maybe the old king of Dressrosa whom Doffy deposed, or, more likely, the legendary gladiator Kyros.

anyway, After thinking Nami, I suddenly thought Silk (from Romance Dawn) she acts just like her (including trying to kill luffy as he is about to or trying to eat something–- go figure) so this is why i don't mind her character design.

Finally Caribou seems to be doing the turnaround from scoundrel to… something less a scoundrel. It's taken a while.

Barto and Cavendish are finally growing on me; one a super-fanboy and the other an unreasonable hater. With their extreme opposite designs I'm kind of hoping they join up as a double act.

The convicts and their stumps was a pretty dark moment I guess this shows why no-one has tried to leave the arena? The theory all the losing fighters get turned into toys or something doesn't seem as likely now with Chin Jao making a post-match appearance.

Rebecca has fed Luffy and had a bit of a cry in front of him. Think he's won over now.

I may partially lean towards agreeing with you… I don't know.. There is something that popped into my head just now which may connect Kyros and the Toy Soldier. And that thing is the fact that Kyros had only one wound in all his fights in the colosseum… so, what if he lost his leg from that wound?–> which would connects him to the one legged Soldier...

This chapter was great. However, I still think it's too early for Luffy to fight anybody from the Blackbeard crew. Although, one would think if he really wanted Ace's fruit Teach would just take it instead of actually going through with the tournament.

she is still one of them,.
she is just around the colosseum because she is taking part on the tournament,after that,she will return to her cell.
they explain in this very cell that NO ONE ever won the 1000 battles required to get freedom,also she wants the mera mera to defeat doflamingo and be able to stay with the tin soldier,if she was already free she wouldn't need to win the mera-mera to begin with
