it's not really the best plot in the series, but it works because… masters.
if anything, we get to see a bit of background on the one shadow nine fist organization. (though albeit small)

i like the fact that there are still some people who are pissed that the strawhat pirates haven't still reached fishman island.
and also the fact that they are still bitching that the manga is taking too long and yet continues to follow.
It's not the destination, but the journey that counts.
p.s. this was a powerful chapter. It has the elements of a subtle storyline, the kind that only exists on old mangas.
