Kakazu(from hidden waterfall village) was originally sent to kill first hokage Hashirama but he lost and barely managed to come back to his village alive....but he was dishonored and sent to prison...being ridiculed despite putting his life on the line for the village he sought vengeance...he broke the jail, killed the village elders and stole the kinjutsu the elders used to protect...

Hidan(from hidden hot-spring village) was a fight crazy shinobi who hated peace his land attained after long war,which was fertile and became a great tourist attraction....he stumbled upon Jashin religion whose one of the preaches was 'thou shalt kill thy neighbor'...he followed the creed..
Jashinism made use of its devotees' bodies for rituals. Which is to say, for repeated kinjutsu experiments. Their first successful case was none else but Hidan......

Deidara was a clay artist who achieved fame at early age....but he was not satisfied and learned a new art of how to infuse chakra in clay..finally he too performed a kinjutsu on his own body and got those two 'mouth' which can knead explosive chakra to clay ....

Kisame killed many people and went S class missing nin after killing a Daimeyo....

Not really, a lot of them could be done really quickly. Especially if they cut out a lot of the bullshit stuff like all the long training arcs (A few of which should've just been thrown in with the timeskip) and shortened some of the fights a bit. Naruto's been really awfully paced for the last few years, so with decent pacing we could easily have covered this sort of stuff in less time than it's taken to go over what we have now

And no, you don't have to have a manga run as long as One Piece to build the world or even give it a hint of character.

Let me put it this way.
If Naruto was a movie you wouldn't be praising that as part of the plot if it was only on the 4 disc special edition bonus disc character profile section.

Also you completely missed the point of what I was even saying. Which is that knowing about all the villages to some extent BEFORE or soon after we even saw the varying Akatsuki would have made them more interesting. Why? Because they would have had a setting, a context. If we know about the culture, and have seen and interacted more with the places they're from we'd have much more to think about in terms of their characters when we eventually saw them.
Of course that sort of interesting world building should have come after the Chunnin Exam, and long before Kishi turned on the meat factory conveyor belt that quickly picked off his super villain squad and turned them into canned bullshit.

No it absolutely does not count at all if we're trying to evaluate the storytelling.
We're not saying it isn't canon, we're saying it's literally not part of the manga.
Oda does that same shit, but for minor ass characters. That's what bonus material is supposed to be.
You don't turn major villain bios into bonus material unless you're really terrible at storytelling and somehow couldn't come up with a way to make it matter or fit in the main story. Even when he did do that, like with that lazy eyed puppet loser, it was pretty much just blabbed out of someone's mouth instead of really shown or explored at all.

I don't see the problem with making Naruto running as long as One Piece! If is good, longest the better!
So you prefer it short and with a bad world building than long and with good world building? Ok, good for you.

In the end the problem with Naruto is that it promised a huge span of world building, but in the end it provided nothing. The worst think is that a Story like Harry Potter, that promised and provided a small span of world building: The School and a few other locations, some people and some magic(I really wanted more building about magic). Have more and better world building than Naruto, a series with a supposedly huge world and great world.

Although it's a poor way to give out information, it being in the databooks does make it canon. It's the same way with Dragon Ball (Granted, backstories and extra details are a lot less important in that series…and DB has a very, very loose canon) and the Daizenshuu's/Guidebooks. They contained all kinds of extra bits and whatnot about the world and it's characters, things that were never explained or expanded on in the actual manga/anime. However, they're still canon because these are official books and notes from the creators/people who worked on the series.

Akatsuki was a group of major antagonists. The equivalent of the Spiders from Hunter, or the Shichibukai from One Piece. That sort of thing
Character development beyond "hi im an asshole from this place you never really saw or never saw period" is yeah, kind of important. No one is asking for a Kakuzu arc, they're asking for maybe seeing Waterfall village before he's carted out. Or y'know, getting any feel for where he came from at all.
The entire way he was handled was like he was a thug character like Mohji or something. This was true of almost every Akatsuki. They were treated like thug characters.

Ah, my mistake. Personally, I love learning extra things in guidebooks/etc. Learning extra backstories and details do give me a further appreciation and enjoyment for whatever series I'm reading up on. And tbh, I never really wondered/cared about the backgrounds of the Akatsuki enough for their absence from the main series to bother me.

But I do agree that Kishi handles these kind of things poorly within the series.

Let us all remember that instead of even giving us some sort of Akatsuki Freudian excuse roll call and writing almost exactly what he wrote in the guidebooks in the actual series, Kishimoto felt it was more important to spend several pages on Naruto ogling transvestite armadillo schlong.

Anything outside the actual main story just… doesn't count. Its cool to have excessive minor background details that don't fit any other location, but major plot point or backstory stuff shouldn't only exist in those sorts of things, thats wrong storytelling on a fundamental level.

Aside from that point, while databooks (or artbooks or wahtever) are neat, despite input from the creators, they aren't actually written by them, and they're often wrong and filled with factual errors and may not actually be canon...

The OP databooks at least are loaded with mistakes and things (such as saying definitevely Sabo is dead when he's clearly not, getting birthdays wrong, getting flags or bounties wrong, organization members, forgetting characters, giving conflicting data on the same character within the same book, etc.) and I know the Dragonball books just completely made shit up like the later power level scales.

I don't know or care about the Naruto or Bleach databooks, but I'm sure that for every random background tidbit they have, they're just as prone to being completely wrong and halfassed and not straight from the creator.

I don't understand why people love this so much ?! Its a pirate manga about the protagonist - Monkey D. Luffy who wants to be King of the Pirates. The first problem starts THERE ! For one, he isn't even REALLY looking for the treasure…

The treasure is at the end of the Grand Line, so yeah, he is.

let me give you a run down on EVERY arc of One Piece, and I mean EVERY ARC !! They go to a new island where the log pose points, they get there.

This is untrue in multiple cases lol.
Drum was off course, Alabasta used an Eternal Pose, Jaya was of course, Enies Lobby was by train, Thriller Barque wasn't an island, Saobody was off course, Amazon Lilly, Impel Down and Marineford all off course in a major way, Punk Hazard was off course, followed by Dressrosa which is part two of a plot that involves ignoring the Lock pose.

Thats what happens EVERY single saga ! So you have a pirate manga about the main character wanting to be pirate king, while on that journey he goes to new islands to save people and then he RECIEVES !

Only three arcs ended with them getting treasure so far?
Skypiea, Thriller Barque (which they stole), and Fishman Island.

the treasure instead of stealing it like a NORMAL pirate.

So instead of trying to comprehend One Piece's world. He judges it based off his idea of fictional pirates.
But this exposes what a shallow dingus the reviewer is in the first place.
In One Piece pirates are anyone really who just sail around unaffiliated (usually) with any state or organization. They're essentially all rounin, vagabonds etc.
Just like irl, and in countless fiction, such vagabonds are sometimes romantic outsiders doing whatever they want, or they're horrible criminals.
Pirates are people who are free in One Piece. And both the bad and the good are represented.
Nothing about being a pirate suggests plundering and murdering innocent people in this series.
This is definitely the point, Oda's doing some big shout out to the romantic free wheeling outsider.
I have no doubt something about the Lost History will relate to this, and that the conflict between Luffy and Blackbeard is all about the bad vagabond vs. the good vagabond.

Instead this reviewer just wanted to know why it didn't look more like Pirates of the Caribbean. Great review.

Next are the fights, oooo ~ the fights… they're bad. Not TERRIBLE but they are NO WHERE as near as good as the Bleach or Naruto fights.

Maybe because combat involving people who aren't superpowered ubermensch is actually more interesting?
Like underdogs struggling against adversity might have emotional and even thematic value or something?
Also no one in the weaker end of the Strawhats is completely without combat ability, and none of them get a fight every arc.

She is someone capable of fighting, so she does when she has to. It's that simple.
Therefore her fights are interesting usually, especially since she had a very specialized attack thing that can hurt stronger people than her.

The point of Nami is to navigate so she is already USEFULL what the point of making her fight and make is read a horrible fight that will last for like 5 chapters… ? WHY ?!

So she can participate in the emotional climaxes of arcs and not just sit on the ship, or wave on the sidelines like some kind of limp wristed cheerleader?

WHY ?!??!?! Everyone just wants to see Luffys, Zoros and Sanjis fights.

Now the LAST thing is, the pacing….. OH.MY.FUCKING.GOD ! The pacing is HORRIBLE !!!! In the latest arc there was a boat that was suppose to crash in to an island. The boat was literaly like 2 mins away from the island. It took like 3-4 months for the boat to finally get to the island -___________________- wtf ?! The pacing is horrible, just stay away from this manga

I would suggest that the authorial talent, or lack thereof, behind this intestinal waste, this pretentious drivel, was a parodic and invented quasi-individual who deliberately penned a non-manga as a critique of the bourgeois publishing complex, did it not give me such a distinct and recurring reminiscence of the HIV virus ad nauseam. This is not the sort of atrocity that can be committed with specific intent. Rather than fling himself off of a cliff, the abominable creator of this piece attempted to soar to great heights, thereby providing himself with a larger distance to mentally plummet into. This manga best functions as an appeal-to-emotion argument for such policies as eugenics and is not an experience that may be safely partaken of with laces in one’s shoes."

There are dozens of actual people writing just like that in academic circles, and it's really awful, and I'm sure they're smart people, but jesus christ none of them know how to write without resorting to ridiculous words every two syllables, and no one but other people in Ivory Towers can read them.

Normal routine measures of a daily basis consist of regularly browsing such a thread attributed to a particular visual narrative known as the "Naruto and Bleach" thread within this commons often elucidates one's own impression of such a literature. Destiny's posts (to which I confide in myself that such a entity known as "MonkeyD Destiny" hidden behind the confines such a common avatar and often shameless juvenile interpretations and posts of such infamous nature which often brings about certain renown in this community…which in itself is remarkably not a positive one), a certain bile manifests from the narrow passage within my system (that which I call my lungs occassionally) in result of another demonstration of his remarkable wit and fancy (which I speak in snide brutish manner due to my clear disdain for such a waste space). But unfortunately, I fear such an entity lacks the capacity for delving into efficacious interpretations of such posts which will result in the continuation of such expressions that will inevitably lead to my continuous release of bile from the passage of my throat.
