Oh, I would imagine.
I wonder how much the community donated to this woman before this case….
My mother is currently five years into her grave from NOT surviving cancer, largely due to our family's inability to afford the exorbitant medical costs, so
yeah
this woman can go straight to hell.
@Monkey:
Conspiracy theorists idea of a bad guy: long mustache, striped bar clothing, zoro mask
Conspiracy theorists are attention whores. They're hoping someone would pay into their theoretical sex.

Seconded. Also lost my grandmother (she was only 64) to cancer 7 years ago because of the terrible medical practice in Cyprus so…
This bitch can go fuck herself with a chainsaw.

My condolences. I could not/would not/do not want to imagine that level of emotional anguish.
Sad how drugs just suck the very humanity out of people
yeah, I should show this to a friend of mine who insists on making all drugs legal…because it obviously brings the best out of people!

Creepy indeed…sometimes they really are efficacious visual representations...

My grandfather died two years back from cancer as well. And I still think that if he didn't go to the shitty "private" clinic his doctor was running instead of the actualy good one which is ten minute's drive away, then he'd probably be here alot longer.
So…...yeah. :getlost:

Meh, this is a tough one. Both executing him and keeping him in prison for a LONG time are expensive choices. Whichever one is the cheapest is the one they should really opt for. Personally, I prefer for him to stay in prison and have him live out the rest of his life with the guilt. Essentially his life is ruined anyway.

first off I have to say I don't believe in the death sentence. And if I would ever sway, it would be down to the cost of housing them in a prison cell.
But you have to remember that the message we give for letting money take priority over justice is damn shoddy. If someone commits a truly heinous act then the easy option of death shouldn't be Available.
For me, solitary confinement is probably the only option that leaves the person alone to reflect on it, and maybe even give something positive back. And by positive I'm referring to the possibility of evidence being given or maybe even just an apology.
Doubtful he'll get the death penalty, states are really reluctant to use it nowadays because of how goddamn expensive and tedious it is (plus public outcry and all that jazz.) Even the most ruthless prosecutor probably won't go for it.
Life with no parole (with some time in solitary) is the most likely route.
or maybe even just an apology.
Even if he broke down in tears and made a "genuine" apology…..I doubt anyone would accept it. And why would they?
As for this "death vs. life in prison" debate.....I can't decide which route I support. Normally I oppose the death sentence, but.....
I'm just saying I'm fine with either one since they both serve some kinda of "justice" imposed on this kid. They execute him, I suppose the public will feel a general satisfaction for punishing someone that killed 3 folks and injured a whole lot more. However, I think that is an easy way out for the guy (but also an expensive and lengthy one). On the other hand, they can have the guy chill in prison for…god knows how long which is also an expensive endeavor, but serves out its purpose (I'm sure the other prisoners would be all to happy to welcome a guy that bombed the Boston marathon). Either way, the kid is getting what he deserves overall (whether he is killed off or left to rot in prison with his guilt) so I feel justice is served in which I would just prefer whichever is cheaper and less of a burden for the state.
With all the legal processes involved with carrying out a death sentence (retrials and retrials and appeals and retrials ad nausem), it's usually more expensive to inflict capital punishment than to just keep him locked up for the rest of his life.
I'll just say one word. Damiens
Even if he broke down in tears and made a "genuine" apology…..I doubt anyone would accept it. And why would they?..
the families of those injured might feel something just knowing that….
A. He is truly remorseful of his crimes
B. that he will have a lifetime behind bars to dwell on his actions.
I also want to point out how many times people have later on given evidence a few years into their sentence that proves to be valuable. In this case maybe just names, places and the networks involved in radicalising him and his brother.
An 8 year old boy (Martin Richard) was killed. I doubt any form of apology would appease the child's family (at least that's how I would be if I had an 8 year old son that was killed by this 19 year old sack of shit and his brother + whatever accomplices he had).
I think it's pretty much near impossible to register just how the family feel. I have however seen a lot of murderers later on show remorse and make some positive impact on the people carrying the pain of loss. Maybe you and me would act differently, but not everyone.
Usually the family are religious.
Regardless of how the family feels (since that is harder to predict since we know very little to nothing about the Richards), the general public would probably shy away from feigning any sympathy for this guy. Anyone that takes the life of a child deserves to be ostracized, shunned, and universally despised regardless of whether he felt pity for the action or not (it doesn't bring the kid back anyway). He still commited this heinous action and no apology could make up for it (even if he does legitimately expresses it.)
Just thinking about this is really making me grumpy…I do hope they stick Martin's picture in this guy's cell. Despicable...

No idea how America is (or was) called the most progressive nation in the world.

Welcome to the club Francais!
And New Zealand and Uruguay both did it recently too!
They won't kill a 19 year old shitbag
Anyway his bro is dead so it's likely his lawyers will try to shift blame onto him. The kid might even get parole in 40-60 years
@wolfwoof:

Nooo not quite. My mother lived in France and my older brother is half French we are very close and I consider his french family to be just as much my family as well my family.
I think there's a pretty good chance he'll get the death penalty myself. There's just no element of reasonable doubt here.
The death penalty is what it is, but as my roommate pointed out, prison would probably be more of a hell for him anyway. In terms of what the other prisoners would probably do to him.

Talking about which nation is the most progressive just seems like an excercise of back patting

Hi what's it like living with 50 subnational entities that have differing opinions on how things should happen, oh wait you don't know about that sorry my bad

Of course the people running the prison could just not let anyone near him and keep him fully isolated.

When your opinion is obviously ignorant and obviously idiotic (i.e. gays shouldn't have the same rights as non-gays, women have little to no say what should/shouldn't happen to their body) I think it should be cast aside and mocked. It's not progressive in the least, and only keeps the nation in like…the 18th Century.
I've found a blog of some sort with photos of the shootout in Watertown that ended with Tamerlan's death: [http://www.getonhand.com/blogs/news/7743337-boston-bombing-suspect-shootout-pictures
T](http://www.getonhand.com/blogs/news/7743337-boston-bombing-suspect-shootout-pictures)hey were taken from the house directly across the street from where the brothers were. It takes some balls of steel to do that, especially when you see the photo taken inside of the stray bullet hole in the computer chair's headrest.
Images aren't loading for me.

It's not progressive, but tell that to the other tens of millions of people who have voting rights and don't listen even when they're mocked.
aka re-read Cyan's statement.
