So everything points to the fact that the dragon they just defeated was not Momonosuke, because he just went into the "forbidden" room and the dragon has been around for years. Is the forbidden room the SAD manufacturing room? Because if that's true we can expect him to meet Law next chapter?
Chapter 682 "Mastermind"
-
-
Doflamingo… Son of Kaido(u)... That's why they address him as "Young Master". They don't want to deal with Yonko Kaido(u).
-
@The:
Doflamingo… Son of Kaido(u)... That's why they address him as "Young Master". They don't want to deal with Yonko Kaido(u).
Or the son of Big Mom. Anyway, this would serve as an ideal device to put some order into the current chaos of allignments and upcoming arcs. Following your theory, they could use CC & the SAD to pressure DoFla and therefore the Yonkou behind him.
But I doubt that, DoFla seems to be a rather independent individual.
-
First of all- this chapter blew my mind. OP at its best.
Now let's get creative and speculate as to why Baby 5 would want to kill Doflamingo. Looking at his past I think that he abandoned the village he's from (we know that he looked like a rather poor boy back then) to become a pirate/broker/bamf. Baby 5 was a kid back then and got really angry and pissed that he left his place so she decided to take revenge on stringman and followed him to the GL. There she lost miserably the first time but Doflamingo- in his heart still somewhat connected to his past- decided to let her join his crew while at the same time knowing that she wants to kill him or, as was shown in the chapter, can't forgive him.
-
-
Doflamingo is exactly like I imagined him in all my headcanons! I'm so happy the tears just won't stop ;A;
-
Doflamingo is a boss plain and simple.
-
However, has anyone noticed that Laws Jolly Roger (heart pirates) bears a resemblance to the Jolly Roger of DoFlamingos crew et vice versa
We know that for long. And we also saw Law symbol on Whitebeard medical stuff, so Law was probably his private doctor… Which now leads to this: if he was working under Dofla at that time, does it mean he could have poisoned Whitebeard ? Or had he already left Dofla at that time ?

Potential Sabo? Or perhaps Kaidou visiting Doffy? He's got the whole steampunk BAMF thing going on.
Heck I don't know shit about this guy and I already like him.Wait…doesn't SWAG means 'Secretly We Are Gay'?
So, are you implying that the gear guy...he.......
Well...it really makes some sense, you known...the way he just shot at baby 5 as if he literally hated crazy sexy women around his boss... -
We know that for long. And we also saw Law symbol on Whitebeard medical stuff, so Law was probably his private doctor… Which now leads to this: if he was working under Dofla at that time, does it mean he could have poisoned Whitebeard ? Or had he already left Dofla at that time ?
Why, just tell me why Dofla has an overwhelming supply of swag. I noticed how there was a pool in front of him and everyone's having a good time. He fills out the spot of "God Father" in my eyes. There's a lot (obviously) to this man that we don't know about and I can't wait to find out.
Finally we got to see Dofla with his ear piercings in, apparently he only had them in when he was at Roger's execution. Good to see both ears pierced, I feel like Dofla now haha. Secondly that's the first time I've ever seen a woman wearing a thong in OP That girl who's serving him has it on.
He has was wacky crew and I love it. Baby 5 got schooled, she shot Dofla at point blank range and the man was perfectly fine… In addition, he dodged her axe, I think we've just seen the display of two haki's on Dofla's part (Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku Haki) . I'll call it now, he probably has Haushoku Haki as well, I wouldn't be surprised.
Plus, have we finally found Sabo? Haha who knows, only time can tell at this point. If it is him it makes us wonder, why he's with Dofla and not Dragon?
Really, Law's symbol on WB's medical stuff? Link to the picture please and thanks.
-
After re-reading the chapter, time for questions:
- Where do you think Jinbe goes next?
- How the hell is Law gonna bring that huge container/the gas with him?
Jimbe - A little journey and then to WholeCake Island
Law - you seem to be forgetting his ability- Who is Vergo's "real" opponent? Law? Smoker? Sanji?
- Where does Law go after this arc? Will he get his crew back and go on with the plan while the Strawhats do something else?
Vergo's opponent as of now is Law (as that is where he is headed) but it will be Smoker that he fights.
I personally want Law to come along with the crew… but that's just me.
- How did Law join Doflamingo back in the day?
- Why is Baby 5 attacking Doflamingo? What's her devils fruit?
- Why is SAD a threat even to Doflamingo? Does it mess with DF-users?
- Doesn't Doflamingo seem to think that Law might be able to capture Caesar?
- Doflamingo says he'll send over Baby 5 and Buffalo and bring Vergo and the guys BACK to Dresrosa. Does this mean the end to Punk Hazard will continue there?
Most of these will be answered when they do encounter Doflamingo… also a reason as to why Law should travel with them.
Doflamingo said that if he (and Ceasar) aren't in control of the production of S.A.D then it is a threat to him (Dofla)
Law can but Law's motive is to do something with S.A.D ... he would have gone after Caesar but he left that to Luffy.
Probably

Those kids caused Chopper's monster form to bleed. A member of CP9 couldn't scratch him…
It's interesting that Baby 5 can turn her arm into a cannon like Franky or Mega Man and has a normal pistol Doflamingo reversed on her. Despite being an all purpose swiss army knife, I wonder if her ammunition is infinite? As far as we know most fruit users who can create can do so infinitely so I wonder if she can as well. Reminds me of Wapol's Munch Munch fruit.
She smokes and can take bullets like a champ, can't wait to see what shes all about.
-
I was just thinking that maybe the theme with Doflamingo's crew is that everyone has animal names. We already have Flamingo and Buffalo but I'm not sure about Baby 5.
-
Sorry but I did not have a chance to read all 19 pages of this thread So I dont know if someone has already posted this idea here.
But to me it seems that Don Flamingo's crew has some sort of connection with age. We have "Baby 5" and some of his crew calls Don Flamingo "Young master".
Also when Vergo first meets Law he refers to "How much he has grown up"
My theory is that Don Flamingo has kept some of his crew as slaves since they were babies and raises them. Thus "Baby 5" could be the 5th or is one of 5 others that Don Flamingo has kept in his crew as a slave baby. And maybe Law was one of the previous baby's that Don Flamingo took in. And that might actually explain why Baby 5 seems so upset about Don Flamingo deciding to kill Law.
It also seems that the man in Don Flamingo's crew has the same hat and goggles as Sabo. Perhaps he has his face covered because he was so severely injured that he needed to cover his face and body.
-
So everything points to the fact that the dragon they just defeated was not Momonosuke, because he just went into the "forbidden" room and the dragon has been around for years. Is the forbidden room the SAD manufacturing room? Because if that's true we can expect him to meet Law next chapter?
You're probably right, though the chapter ends with the Jump cliffhanging text "D..Does that mean…!!!", leading the reader to believe that it was Momonosuke son. It does seem to be a bit of a shock cliffhanger in that respect.
-
As Yarisugi would say it: This chapter has Too many Too good things
-
God, i don't know why, but i just LOVE that granny's design. I'm also expecting to see Kinemon's flashback regarding what he has against dragons, if not now when we're in Wano. If PH's got one, i think it'll be Kinemon's or Law's.

So, uhm, since Dofla's crew is addressing him as "Young Master", can we assume he's the son of some big name in the NW?
No, it just means he's respeceted and younger than the speaker. Remember Duval? He called Sanji "Young Master" after the face change
-
So, uhm, since Dofla's crew is addressing him as "Young Master", can we assume he's the son of some big name in the NW?
…No, we can't. He's younger than many of them, and presumably their master.
-
It would be funny if it turns out the little girl in Doflamingo's crew is Vergo's daughter.
-
He might be the heir to a rich mafia family, and though the servants and henchman and the works sort of serve as a crew, he was never a real "pirate", but illegal activity still merits a bounty. Just the sort of feeling i get from him after we've seen Dressrosa
-
That Doffy thing from Vergo really got me. Whew.
Anyways, it doesn't necessarily HAVE to be moon walk Vergo was using. Since he has some kind of metal fruit, it could be a that he's a magnet man, which would explain why he was standing on the wall. What I mean by that is, he could possibly change his magnetivity and be able to shoot between the wall. Kind of a stretch, but just a thought.
So happy we got a new Dofla introduction, great to see him and some of his crew. Baby 5 seems interesting.
I doubt Sanji and Vergo will fight again, it's probably Smoker's turn now, but it's kind of disappointing that Sanji didn't get a full fight, but it was nice to see him do a little something
I really just wanna know what SAD is, but we probably won't find out for a couple more chapters.
The dragon bit was pretty comical, and Nami's ninja bit was a riot. Hopefully we'll get an explanation as to why Kinemon hates dragons. Since he said it had to do with his parents, that could lead to why he cares for Momonosuke so much.
Like many others already said, maybe Law will meet up with Momonosuke, who has somehow turned into a dragon? Honesty, what the hell's going on with that?
As an overall prediction, I'd say that Caeser will certainly be taken out by the end of PH, Vergo will escape, Monet will escape, and something will happen to Momonosuke that will cause Kinemon to travel with the SHs for a bit in order to find him once and for all.
Loved the Yarisugi(I think that's his name?) cover page, it was actually quite surprising to see him there because wasn't he in another town? He was yelling at the parents who were missing their children, wasn't he? And whoever it was who predicted that last week, props.

I thought that the pistol was her forefinger turned into a pistol. The question would be then of course:
Did she create the pistol herself with her DF or can DD while controlling other people´s bodies also use their DF.If it is the latter then DD will be incredibly strong, even stronger than i imagined him to be.
-
More Doflamingo makes me happy. I can't wait to see for sure what power he has and the rest of his crew. And I wonder what this SAD stuff is.
-
So how is Monet answering the den den mushi when she is supposed to be in the room with Luffy? Seems like there will be a flash back to some panels that we havent been showed yet.
-
The Steampunk guy's goggles and hat ARE identical to Sabo's… Hmm. Also, is Buffalo (or the Okama guy, if that's not Buffalo) wearing an Impel Down hat? He obviously is dressed like a Newkama, so it's possible he escaped sometime prior to the jailbreak, or during the jailbreak. My guess is that the Dango-loving, monocle eye-patch wearing girl is the second-in-command, by the way she's actually shown with Doflamingo during his text box. She must have a crazy DF power or something. Maybe it's his daughter. Who knows.

Wow I really did end up missing a lot of the details during my first read through, I didnt even realize that Baby 5 was actually turning her body into those different weapons. That just made her much more interesting to me. It does get a bit confusing considering she also seems to have normal weapons on her (Ex: The pistol and swords strapped to her back).
P.S: Also I am a new member and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the protocol about re-bringing up a topic that you posted earlier in the thread but no one seems to be discussing or acknowledging it. It is considering bad taste to re-quote yourself in an attempt to not be looked over?

Given that he's already demonstrated Shigan and Tekkai, Geppou seems to make the most sense. And when does he stand on a wall? I don't see that anywhere.

She is my main interest right now too, at firs i have thought she is wearing an eyepatch with eye painted on it, but since the eyelashes in two pictures look little different I'm not so sure any more.
-
I want to see an Urouge chapter summary on this one!

Anyone else think the eyepatch girl might be messing with Baby Five in some way? The scene keeps switching between Baby Five's assault on Doflamingo and her eating the dango off her fingers… Maybe something to do with her eyes.

You are correct. That is a finger pistol, a real one.

You can quote yourself no one will say anything. Often times if you want people to talk about your topic(granted it's not dumb) wait until the hype of a new chapter wares off. Most people jump in here quick to post their response and then it just gets buried.
Now is probably a good time to post your thoughts, more people will actually read it.
So uh, these ^ unused Nami ideas. I'm thinking Baby 5 is the result of that. I will quietly keep her at the back of my mind for potential crew mate.
Only one of many, the ax just screamed at me this chapter. Though this early Nami has what appears to be a "robotosized" arm and foot, the limb becoming the weapon also applies to Baby5.
Not to mention she hates her leader, it will be interesting to see how her story unfolds.

Thoughts on the chapter
first and foremost: dofla makes pimpin look easy
his crew is awesome
A steampunk based character so excited
so now brook and kinnemon are competing!! there already sword fighters with parallel elements, exactly the same height, my guess is kinnemon is as protective with his hair as brook is with his, and they both indebted to another SH (both members of the monster trio) for helping them out of a situation caused by the DF ability of shichibukai this just the cherry on the top, new zoro sanji
lol nami ninjutsu and usopp sorcery is hilarious
tragic back story for kinemon seems to be there! something to do with a dragonThe big part I wanted to talk about the build up: someone (i think Urouge) mentioned long ago how this might be like the build up to albasta, in that in albasta there were tons of groups, the SH's, Barouqe Works, the rebels, the kingdom, and smoker and tashigi. now this could (if it's going in this direction dwarf anything we've ever seen in One Piece
the groups here include
- The Straw Hats
- Law
- Kinemon and his son
- Jibei and the fishman pirates?
- Kid, Killer, Hawkings and Apoo (and possibly the rest of the supernovas later)
- Big mom her crew and possibly allies
- Doflamingo and his crew
- and POSSIBLY the brokers, who have their own groups, two look like lucci and Moria (to me) which would mean CP9 and the thriller bark group
- Smoker & Tashigi and the G-5
imagine all of these groups forming alliances, betraying each other, and having an all out war with strategy involved… EPIC!!!!!
-
Absolutely loved the new chapter, and am so stoked to see everything coming together. I hate having to wait for a week for the next chapter, but if I have to, then this is a great way to leave me hanging.
-
Maaan, this is the worst kind of chapter to take a break on. So many questions, so much going on. These two weeks are going to suck.

I'm not sure if all these characters will be involved (it'd be epic if they were). Reason being, I look at the length of the first half of the GL and think it took the SHs four major steps to pass it (Alabasta, Skypiea, Water 7, Saboady), which could be the same time around in the NW. If all these characters are involved at once I wonder who will fill the gaps until Luffy fights a Yonkou (who are the furthest up the NW).
-
Gotta love Dofla on the last page trying to force Baby 5 to shoot herself.
actually I see it a bit differently
but first things first.
My view of the chapter
-
So law obviously got to the room which produces some stuff which is unique and can be produced only by Caesar. No doubt because of his unique gass gass fruit.
Bu what is it exactly…? -
Sanji is hurting. That certainly isnt good. In that small rough up Vergo did some heavy damage and if this fight would have gone on for longer I am not sure that Sanji would have made it in one piece
-
Tashigi's cover up may seem cute to some, brave thing to do, smart thing to do, but to me it's idiotic, it probably wont back fire as this is Oda trying to show us the moral good...but I somewhat wish it would and that marines would end up trusting Vergo again, thinking he is the real deal and not a fake one...just to get killed off
perhaps than Thasigi would see that playing a hero can have devastating effects and that some times harsh truth is better -
Doflamingo, the entire scenery is so appropriate and everything so fits his character and style that it is surreal. So he is this pimp with some of transsexual flavour to it.
His "crew"
The little girl looks like some wicked ability user, the big crossdresser the power figure, the shadow shooter like some sharpshooter and the old guys must be some wicked fighters as well
But about the scene with the Baby 5
I think and this is just my opinion. That Doflaming is forcing that girl into working for him through his ability. Like some puppet master, he is controlling her actions and she even though she hates them cant do anything to stop it. That is why she is so depressed and after her attempts to kill him fail, she just wishes to kill herself off...but he wont let her, he already said he ll send her to PH
In other words, this guy is turning people into puppets to do his bidding and Luffy will absolutely hate it... -
speaking about Luffy Doflamingo knows that he is dangerous but I do wonder what he means by vessel, is it "his puppet" = vessel?
-
and in the end we switch to the brownbuss. The dragon serves well to display some of the skills of the SH crew. Robin got stronger with her replica hands, Nami is a real fighter now and Usopp trickery and bag of surprises.
The Brook jokes did really nothing for me, it was like he was trying too hard to be funny. Zorro will hopefully catch on that fire splitting technique by himself...
So in the end again childreen problems...Chopper tries to prevent them from eating candy and they are naturally pissed off
About samurai's son, not really got that one...He can change into a dragon, or that room changes you...?
Well we ll see

Uhm, why does it seem like I just reread the revealing of the remained Baroque Works agents, plus the shichibukai meet-up at Marejios(?) which marks the first appearance of "Doffy" and Kuma, plus the Galley-La building chapters, plus a whole bunch of Jaw Dropers throughout the series?

Ahem Eustass Kidd.
that theory doesn't go against Kidd. Kidd affects magneticism outside his body and on his surroundings whcih includes controling and shaping metal ala Magneto of MARVEL. I remember that Ironman once affected the magnetic properties of his armor so they wouldn't be magnetic, and MAgneto couldn't affect his armor. IF (and I do put emphasis on that if) Vergo is able to control his own body's magnetism, then he could alter the polarity between him and surounding walls and its still different than Eustass Kidd … infact this would be one power to trump Kidd's.
It sounds as if that theory suggested how Vergo can alter the affect of magneitism on his body, not his surrounding or metals not part of his body (the spoon was because his cheek was magnetic at time, hamburger ... maybey its rare, so still had some small bit blood, therefore iron).
It's like how many people believe Heat of Kidd's crew ate a df that allows him to breath fire, and Ace is a Logia that can change into fire, powers are similar but differentNot saying I do believe in this theory...but its just as plausible as the 'velcro df' theory

But about the scene with the Baby 5
I think and this is just my opinion. That Doflaming is forcing that girl into working for him through his ability. Like some puppet master, he is controlling her actions and she even though she hates them cant do anything to stop it. That is why she is so depressed and after her attempts to kill him fail, she just wishes to kill herself off…but he wont let her, he already said he ll send her to PH
In other words, this guy is turning people into puppets to do his bidding and Luffy will absolutely hate it… -
speaking about Luffy Doflamingo knows that he is dangerous but I do wonder what he means by vessel, is it "his puppet" = vessel?

and in the end we switch to the brownbuss.
Well we ll see
That´s actually something I thought of myself, but I guess it´s just Dofla messing with her. If it does turn out she has suicidal tendencies, we can still say "told you so" later :D Can´t wait to see more of that girl!
The vessel thing is a mistranslation, it´s a japanes saying which mangapanda didn´t translate properly. It´s about his potential & character.
In that secret room, he seems to have gotten changed. Now it may be this SAD stuff, though I doubt it. Otherwise Dofla would have an army of Dragons flying around (he could still have it, but I guess we´d have heard of it by now…?) -

This chapter was sexcellent.

@krule274:
This would be valid if a magnet DF didn't exist already.
that theory doesn't go against Kidd.
Heat breathes fire the same way Cabaji does. Trickery. Also, Vergo was seen with french fries on his cheek once, so it can't be magnetism.
