The fact that he isn't with the other kids and we've seen all the other kids several times makes me think that Kinemon's "son" is different from what we're expecting. Kinemon (well, his head) was with everyone when they first burst into the child room. The kids were asked twice if Momonosuke was with them, but didn't respond either time. I don't think he's an actual kid, but something else… like an animal, that Kinemon considers his son.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.

I was expecting the fights to begin in this chapter, but despite that I liked the episode :D, my favorite part was when Zoro warns Luffy that this is the start of the new world, that was epic, can't wait to see that bit in the anime, about Smoker going after Vergo, it proved that after all he has a good side,it was cool because we've seen a lot of characters who have stonehearts when it comes to giving a shit about their crews. Can't wait to see the next episode, btw don't tell me one piece is going on a break next week O.O (I ask because One Piece usually go on breaks when the most exciting is about to start lol)
Imo Law is saving this arc, this chapter wasnt good to be honest
The interactions themselves are becoming quite annoying, in my own opinion. The way the Straw Hats interact has gotten very derivative. Luffy is always being silly. Franky is always reminding us that he's a cyborg. Sanji is always being an annoying pervert. Even Robin is generally always making a creepy comment, and I hate admitting that since she's my favorite character. They're becoming walking cliches of themselves. Their interactions with non-Straw Hats have been more amusing, but within themselves, they're becoming quite bland. And of course there's other stuff to enjoy - the art is always getting nicer to look at even when you think it's impossible, and the supporting cast has been amazing this arc. I just don't like when people act like there are no faults going on with the story or anything.
Maybe I should have phrased it better. I don't think they'll be back for a fight or anything like that before the arc finishes. If they show up again, it'd likely be for a very small role.

Do you guys think if luffy used right hook / red hawk against cc it would ignite his explosive gas? It bothers me a bit that the only serious attack weve seen from him is that once
Snake Shot and Elephant Gun/ Elephant Gatling were also serious attacks. We haven't seen any this arc (minus the elephant gun used on Monster FrankyChopper.) So I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing a new bad ass attack. That, or just seeing how powerful Red Hawk is on land, since Luffy used it against Hordy in the Water.

It wasn't really a bad chapter. Oda's taking his time with it, and people were pissing their shorts every single chapter of Fishman Island about how wonky the pacing supposedly was. He's taking this arc at a normal pace, some chapters have a lot of action and some don't.
Wasn't a fascinating one, but it certainly gets me excited for the next few. Smoker's statements and actions were cool, and I'm quite excited to see him fight Vergo. Interested to see where the Momonosuke/kids thing goes, there's gonna be some tension there definitely. And Luffy v. Caesar will be interesting indeed. Semi-typical lead-up chapter, nothing Oda hasn't done before.
Best moment for me honestly was when the G-5s cornered the pirates and Brownbeard thinks "They know my name!" brownbeard-chan <3
Not much happens to say the least. I liked the chapter.
However, I really loved Zoro lecturing Luffy and the moment between Smoker and Tashigi.
The way Smoker talked seem to imply that something bad will happen to him (maybe a Pell moment) and Tashigi won't see him for a while.
Honestly, if you weren't at least mildly amused by this chapter you don't have a soul, or you're have having a bad day. The comedy was great, the crew got back together, Law revealed his plan, there were several DON moments and it looks like we're moving into the final section of this arc. Not much to complain about
Awesome chapter, especially Smoker's part. I'm hoping Law fades into the background after this chapter and stays there during the entirety of the fights to come, because I want to see Smoker and Luffy take on dangerous opponents without any handicaps. Smoker's a great character, but Oda has had him job out to two Shichibukai so far (and only Hancock was a fair fight), so taking on a traitorous Marine that's the same rank as he is (and winning, hopefully) should help to establish him as a legitimate threat to Luffy. Also, Caesar needs to be knocked down a few pegs, and Luffy needs to be the man to do it, especially after their last encounter.
P.S. I liked the interaction between Tashigi and Smoker…
Luffy will beat Ceasar's suffocation by gathering air in his body with gear third/gomu gomu no fuusen.

It was kind of a setup chapter.
Everyone got there, the overall situation and the plan were explained and the characters went off to pursue their goals (kidnapping mad scientists, finding abducted sons etc). Normally those chapters aren't the most entertaining ones but Oda managed to still deliver comedic character interactions plus a few serious moments here and there. Luffy got defeated by Caesar the first time? No big deal you would think but Zoro takes his time to emphasize that the freakin' New World starts here and now and Luffy needs to know that. That moment was probably my favourite in this week's chapter; together with the new UFO move.
Also, everyone's convinced that Oda's always forgetting stuff? Caesar talked about Franky last chapter, and Zoro and Tashigi haven't been face-to-face yet. But next chapter it's almost certain that they'll come and meet each other in some way, as they'll both be looking for Momonosuke/kids. I'm banking on any interaction between them happening next chapter or the one after.
In my honest opinion ,Oda was using Kinemon in an epic tease to test how he'd look as a Strawhat.
Numerous panels he's either making epic faces, or looking so content with teaming up with the crew.and he sure wasn't in a rush to correct the G-5 guys when they included him among Luffy's crew…:ninja:
Now, I'm torn with Kinemon. I like the guy. He's mad powerful. But 3 swordsmen? I'm unsure.
Admittedly, there're almost as many swordsmen on the GL as DF users, however, the SH've already gotten Zoro, and with Jinbei on the horizon, I'm not sure how it'd work out.
Also, do the SH need another DF user on board? The reason why the SH're sick is because they combine individual fighting techniques alongside other DF users, or even a combination of both. Wouldn't Kinemon just be Brook without a violin, or Zoro without a dream but with the 'Leaf Suit no mi'?
He's got skills that'll help the crew out during their initial battles in the NW, will share some funny moments with the SH, will take the crew to Wano and'll teach Zoro a thing or 2 in the cutting dept. I think that's all it's gonna' be. Right?

I'm… pretty sure that Kinemon won't join, but only because it interrupts a fan theory of mine. If he does join, then most of the theory is still salvageable, and I'll feel a bit vindicated, because I suggested Kinemon might join a few months ago, and I got a lot of flak for it.
Kinemon's biggest appeal in joining, at this point, is his burning sword-technique. We haven't seen him seriously fight anyone, but judging from his brief duel with Brooke, he's not a Monster, which works. Jinbe is going to join eventually, so piling too many people in that category would be overwhelming. He is aggressively Japanese though, which does clash with Jinbe (even though he's Okinawan in design) and as a power type, he presumably shares a skill-set with Zoro. It would make a nice little theme with the swordsmen though. One sword uses ice, two sword uses fire, three sword uses wind.
I can see Kinemon (and his son) coming on the ship temporarily a la Vivi. Perhaps the Strawhats will transport them too Wano, if it's close. Maybe we get an arc before they get there, with Big Mom, Doflamingo, Reverie or something like that? I just feel that Kinemon's DF power was a little too special and creative to not being showcased enough.

He's right, at least to an extent. There's been several chapters where little happens. It wasn't like that at the beginning of this arc, but it really slowed down to the point where I feel pretty meh after reading a chapter sometimes, noticing that little even happened in the chapter. It's not Bleach-bad though, and I doubt it ever will be.
You can't tell me that this has been of a slower pace compared to any of the other major arcs, chapter pacing wasn't even that bad….....

1. They could, you know, get shelter in the timespan of being beaten and getting cut up.
2. We did see their faces already. Rock's face is Moai - we can assume under Scotch's gas mask is also a Moai.

If Jinbe wanted to get rid of Caribou, he could just have him imprisoned behind sea stone bars on Fishman Island or thrown out into the sea, right? So why is he bringing Caribou along on his boat with a packed backpack? And he's waving goodbye like he's going on a journey. The theory is this: Jinbe didn't join the Strawhats because he had something to deal with first, right? What if he is about to that now? He's heading to the New World and bringing Caribou with him is just convenient. What if Jinbe is ready to join the crew after this cover story is done?

I think it's been pretty clear that Jinbe would be heading out to take care of business with Big Mom, breaking off Fishman Islane and his crew's ties with her without setting her off. All signs point to it not going smoothly, what with Luffy having challenged her and the Tamatebako with the likely still-active bomb inside being taken to her. In another arc or two we should have our answer.
Personally, though, I think the cover story will continue to follow Caribou after he and Jinbe part ways, one way or another.
