I searched the forums, but I haven't seen anything really on this, so I want to hear what you guys think about this.
I've been wondering a lot about what the next crew is going to be like, and when people began speculating Arlong returning, I went back through the Arlong Arc. I noticed that he has in addition to his Arlong tattoo, this Sun tattoo. With further speculation, I noticed other members of Arlong's crew had this same tattoo.
This sun-mark is also on others who were not in Arlong's crew.
There has been lot's of foreshadowing about a possible re-apperance of Arlong, especially since they showed MohMoo being friendly with another group of pirates. Naturally, that could be coincidence, but the fact that MohMoo has been shown infront of the strawhats again is at the least a plot device to get you thinking about Arlong again. Whether or not Caribou has any connection to Arlong is unknown to me. (if you have more information on why MohMoo is with Caribou, please post about it!)
What is known, is that this Sun symbol is showing up again now. But my question is, is why is it hollowed out?
Some places I have read said that The sun was from 'The Sunny Pirates' who were freed slaves, and they turned their mark of slavery into a sun upon joining this crew. It's possible that the hollowed out sun with the headless person is something personalized by someone who did not have a slavery mark or was not a slave. The personalized mark however shows a close ideal of what Arlong's outview on humans was. His idea of humans being inferior seems to be reflected by that tattoo. The fact that he also had Arlong's tattoo and mentions Arlong to Luffy implies that they've known each other at the very least, and are likely good friends with the same ideals.
Genzo mentioned in the flashback explaining Nami's past that the he rumors about the fishmen being split into two sides must be true, in reference to Arlong showing up with hostility to the locals.
What I'm starting to believe, is that when these 'Sunny Pirates' formed, they branched off into two ideals. One being Jimbe(i)'s ideals, and another is Arlong's Ideals. I'm in no way saying that Arlong and Jimbe are the two 'leaders' of both ideals, I am only saying they'd be the most familiar examples. . however they were both on this crew
I'm pretty sure that upon entering Fishman island, it will lead to a lot more information on the Sunny Pirates, and I can make this situation out a lot better. I'm also getting the feeling that Hatchi will show up again soon in fishman island.
This is still something developing in my mind, and I'm still searching for more information on it, so any input, ideas or other views would help.
