Oh, it´s wonderfull. It seems the cover drawing continues on the back of the book.
Databook: "One Piece Green"

Will the cover stories be in color?
-
The cover stories.
Thaaaaank you. Makes beautiful sense.
smooches
-
Will the cover stories be in color?
No, why would they be? That would double the cost of the book and require a ton of rather pointless coloring time by Oda and his assistants.
-
So, they're going to print every single cover story in One Piece Green? What's the point? :wassat:

Uh, it's convenient and people don't have to flip through 59 volumes just to see the coverstories because it's all in one place?

 damn cool.
First time not the whole crew is on the cover..instead some old faces, which is rly awesome for the cover.
Can`t wait to have it in my hands..(just half a year orso to go lalalala)
-
Yahooooooooo!!! ^^ Super happy about the cover!
I'll have to buy myself a copy of Green :> -
Love the cover. Can't wait for this, the word "secrets" just echoes in my mind. I love secrets. And green is a nice color.

@The:
I
Usopp Golden Pund –>Usopp super mega MAMBO!
I have no idea how they got that. I really dont.Every Zoro move for the first 20something volumes: MONSTER STRIKE!
….................................. Even the German translation got Golden Pound correct.
They should really hope that Oda not decides to make any attack name a Chekhov's Gun, as they tend to not even try to translate but just make up an attack name that sounds cool to the average 10-year-old.Anyways, the worst thing in the Danish translation is perhaps naming Iron-Wall Pearl "Palle Jernskjold". "Jernskjold" is acceptable as it means "iron shield", but Palle is just terrible as it is a common Danish boy name without further relation to "pearl" than the pronounciation being slightly similar to the Danish word for "pearl", "perle". Either they should have taken his German name (which is also "Perle") or they should have kept "Pearl". About every Dane is proficient enough in English to know what "pearl" means.
I was like WTF when I saw the name "Palle" in a manga. When I discovered his original name, I almost cried. Good he was a minor one-arc character. -

one piece not one place lol

Wait are you joking? If so I guess it is kinda funny.
When these data books are written are they done by Oda's assitants or Oda himself? Or more likely a combination of both. I just recall reading something about his assistants putting all the information together in these books.
Greg your up to your old cursing ways again. Wouldn't it be nicer to say "what the blank is the common thread?" It think so. Or how about "smooches" you like that one. All F-Bombs should be replaced with smooch, or smooches, now isn't that nicer?
-
Wait, the giants had a coverstory?
Anyways, the worst thing in the Danish translation is perhaps naming Iron-Wall Pearl "Palle Jernskjold".
Over the years I've learned to cope with the pointless name translations and alterations (Franky somehow turned into "Frankie"), what bothers me the most is when the editors make a mistake and copy-pastes the same sentence in two different speech bubbles, which means that one of them says something wrong and leaves out what the character was supposed to say in the first place.
-
Wait, the giants had a coverstory?
Literaly "One Page", part of the "where are they now" series, that focus on a side character for a page, we got them while ms golden week was escaping little garden.
we also got wiper rebuilding skypea, gunfal drinking pumkin juice, paulie escaping debt collectors, fangirls and the debt collector who is in love with him, iceburg looking for a new secretary and the giants of eines loby setting sail to elbaf -
Ooohh, so that's why they're on the cover.

Fuck, fuckerino, fuckeroony.
On-topic: The cover is really nice. Oda's coloring is always great.

"Eiichiro Oda" is credited as the author on the cover of the databooks, but on the credits/copyright page in the back, there's always a big list of "editing and layout assistants" which means that essentially Oda might help out with a thing or two, but most of the information is just compiled and written by a group of lackeys, probably under the supervision of Oda's editor.
In this case, the ads are stating "Completely overseen by Oda himself!" which means that he probably took extra care to ensure the information is properly represented, which makes sense, given that the content in this book is either hidden or tangential to the main plot, and shouldn't be extrapolated based on how some minor ghostwriter interprets the scene/info. (Not to mention the "behind-the-scenes" secrets that are supposed to be in there)

I just noticed that Camie has "man-hands"

What the fuck would be the fucking point of that?

Thanks, so I suppose everything is absolute. Has there ever been any info that seemed (for lack of better words) not right? I just remember lots of talk about the other books and some kind of controversy regarding something. Not sure what though.
@Greg
I can vaguely recall something about less cursing from you, don't know why or when I just remember something about it. -
@Yuugi's:
Damn, that green vest is awesome. I wonder if we'll see a variation of it in the New World.
Does the colour choice look nice ? Yes . Is it the same exact vest as worn by Luffy for over 500 chapters , just once again colourswaped ? Prety much .
Just saying .

Jangoooooooooooooo

This cover is the first time we've seen a drawing by Oda of Camie in color…
Its a store.
Oh…
-
I'd like to scan this as soon as possible. Could anyone tell me which seller would deliver it to Seattle, WA (United States) the soonest?
-
knowing the size of Seattle's Japanese community, you could probably find a bookstore with it on the street date.

There is a Kinokuniya in Seattle, but they tend not to receive the latest Jumps until 2-3 weeks after its Japanese release date.

The more stress in my life the shorter my posts and the more I use profanity instead of big words. Won't be long until my posts look like this:
Luffy cock is cool.
So hey folks, interested in some sweet shit? 'Cause that's what I gots.
Presenting the early Brook design. Now we know what he meant about wanting a skeleton but not having final designs like the afro complete. Note that he is drinking English tea AND making a bone joke. But it's a little different style than Brook's usual joke with 'hone'. Instead it's based on 'kotsu'.
And the back of Green. Very nice.
-
whos the chick with purple hair?
-
-
Man, I love seeing Oda's sketches and ideas.
Nice to see Enels military gnome made it to the cover. -
This post is deleted!
-
-
That backside of the cover looks damn good.
And Brook used to have a cigar? Nice.
-
I'd prefer a pipe realy .
I don't remember a single character in the series using it .
-
I'd prefer a character with an enormous bong, but we all have to make compromises.
-
@No:

Poodle and Miss Doublefinger.
To the topic: Really sweet to see Miss Universe coloured for the first time ever! :D
-
@No:
Miss Universe , Wapol's wife .
Whoa didn't see wapol having a wife in the anime
-
One more reason why anime is just a subpar side product undeserving close attention.
-
Whoa didn't see wapol having a wife in the anime
Yes, because they didn't animate it, since it was only shown in Wapol's cover story in the manga… (And they usually don't use the cover stories in the anime, except for the Strawhats' Separation Serial.)
-
Whoa didn't see wapol having a wife in the anime
Lot of things you won't see in the animated version.
-
Poodle and Miss Doublefinger.

I think Woop Slap used it too.
-
Thanks Greg, is the best Databook cover ^^
-
I guess OP-Green now finally makes clear how important the coverstorys are for the whole story.
I mean most of us real OP-fans are aware of that since a long time, but Oda now uses a whole databook to bring those coverstories into the spotlight again for the wide audience. -
The cover stories are not that important, who knows if we'l ever see Enel and Wapol again?
-
Is this the first Spacey coloring we've seen? Not that it would've been hard to guess that their military outfits were green…
-
The cover stories are not that important, who knows if we'l ever see Enel and Wapol again?
- Buggy's Crew: After the Battle! - Came back
- Diary of Coby-Meppo - Came back
- Jango's Dance Paradise - Came back
- Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll - Came back
- Wapol's Omnivorous Hurrah
- Ace's Great Blackbeard Search - Came back
- Gedatsu's Accidental Blue-Sea Life
- Miss Goldenweek's "Operation: Meet Baroque Works" - Came back
- Enel's Great Space Operations
- CP9's Independent Report
I think they're coming back. Enel and Wapol that is.
-
Enel is definitely coming back because what he learned about the moon civilizations is probably really important. CP9 is also coming back since their story had a vague ending.
But why would Wapol come back? Weren't his toys in Thriller Barque? That should be enough of that guy. -
I don't know why he'd come back, but I believe that Oda has a plan with all of the people he give coverstories.
-
Enel is definitely coming back because what he learned about the moon civilizations is probably really important.
C'mon, the moon civilizations were obviously related to the void century. Enel's story is still far from it's end.
-
Wapol might have already returned, at least in some sense. Marinford siege walls, made from mysterious material, unpenetrable even for Newgate - why not Wapol's steel? Guy made it to the top of the world on his own - so it's not wrong to expect him.
Even more so Enel, who has ties to the more important plot lines - of Void Century and fucking space aliens.
Now Gedatsu may be under the question mark.
