Well, I can't remember a long time-skip while i've been reading One Piece, so I'd take this as verification that Oda's basically going to do alot of research in designs, the new world, etc.

It won't be that bad for me though, Birth By Sleep in less than 2 weeks. :D

Well, fans wanted a time-skip in one piece. Author of One Piece is still part of the story too. HA! LOOP HOLES! Also, I agree with perroloco's theory. I sure hope Eiichiro and his family get to travel a lot to get some more info, and of course, to party like a true enterprise creating mangaka should^^.

As fore the news…so no new One Piece until I start college. Hope chapter 597 is a nice closer.
Hopefully Oda will not only gather his information for the new story but also enjoy his break and come back revitalized. He really deserves a long break. -

I also thought a One Piece Kai could actually be possible now. Maybe in 5 years or so the anime could redo the first half of One Piece to just it's relevant material.
I doubt One Piece Kai will happen, but it's a thought.

I thought Naruto was given a special name to tell the viewers that they were finally done with the shitty anime fillers and were finally going back to the actual story. That was my theory anyway.
