The sound topic in the Help forum and the tangents here got me to pick up something? I think the Smurf theme and the R&B theme are actually rather similar, but it's kind of hard to find the R&B theme I'm looking for…
Here we go.
@No:
Aparently all time travel from any location always leads to New York .
Sounds like some kind of dimensional sewer system.
-
Furthermore if you travel back in time you discover that no such things as Poland exist .
It is an established fact that in the past , all of europe was devided between England , Vikings , Polar Bears and Russians .
At least that's what all "popular" historical programing would want us to know .
-
You think this is bad? I say the entrance to Olympus being located at the Empire State building in Percy Jackson was far worse. :getlost:
-
Well they can always say "It's the god realm , it has entry points all over the world" , but stil it is unnthinkabely stupid .
I mean what's next , the Naglfar being a fishing barge ?

I don't know…maybe same composer?
But when I heard the music at the end of the Smurfs movie trailer the first thing I thought of was the opening of this song

You know what I did like about the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie when I did see it? The fact that…it was still Rocky and Bullwinkle being themselves. Sure the humans around them were ridiculous (and...I forgot about the bit about someone calling out "Fearless Leader as DeNiro"), but those two still felt like the old classic show in some ways.
Somehow I doubt the Smurfs movie will take the same approach.
-
@Tokoro:

My guess is that we're in for a mix of topical references and "topical" references that are about ten years out of date. Papa Winters rapping or something along those lines.
-
You know what would make this movie 120% more awesome? Supertramp.
-
Yes would make it 175% more awesome. But that won't happen. Actually, nevermind, that would be an insult to Yes.
I want to watch a movie that feels like a Roger Dean album cover. And DON'T say Avatar.
-
You know in a while we'll have two horrible CGI films with the designation "Avatar" . (Even if this new movie , even if the fricken franchise is older , is named with the sub title for some reason , just like the "He Man" movie not being called "He-Man")
-

You're bloody well right.

If you find the idea of more Avatar movies horrifying, here's an even scarier thought to keep you up at night.
Prepared?
Really…?
! I don't think you are.
! But if you're ready…
! Read the untagged text below this.Jake + Naytiri's son's birth scene.

rrOf course it is, it'll be a live action movie about furries. I think they realized half-way in that that wasn't a good idea.
It didn't hurt James Cameron any.
Of course, Cameron could probably slap his name on ten hours of paint drying and people would still go see it.
They would also cry to it.

I don't care what anybody at Sony says; that's a creature that will cheerfully murder you in your sleep given half the chance to do so.
A reference to bombing something in a Smurf film thread?
There can be only one response:

You Guys are Just Too Awesome, a mere mortal like myself cannot keep up with you.
Btw, about how many people here grew up watching smurfs? Because I grew up in california and although I Did sometimes watch thing like Jonny Bravo, The Adventures of Grim Bill Mandy (the Fuck?), Courage the Cowardly Dog (Awesome), and Ed, Edd, & Eddy, that was very, very rare and few.
Most of the shows I mainly grew up on and loved with all my heart were Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Yu Hakusho & Yugioh (especially Yugioh). They were the "Big Five" when I was a child. Strangely enough, ALL 5 of them came from Japan, and I didn't even know that back then. And now I read Japanese Manga like One Piece. Mysterious…. :ninja:
-
@ Malintex_Terek : who the hell are Jake and Naytiri ?
-
The main characters in Avatar :P
-
Well, I guess it was only one song…I remember my niece only knowing Supertramp from hearing a song in Rocky and Bullwinkle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supertramp
Everyone has heard Supertramp at some point in their lives, even if they didn't know it…
Funny, I was just remarking to myself the other day about how I have too little Supertramp in my collection, especially for a big prog fan.
-

With the "smurf happens" Pun in the trailer, it could look like they'll throw in some Smurf'd up variants of popular slang ("What the shell?" style) or movie quotes.
"Shut the smurf up!"
"What the smurf is going on?"
"Smurf off!"
"Yippie Kai Yay mother smurfer!"And of course:
"Ask yourself: Do you feel smurfy? Well, do ya, Smurf?" -
Ya know if they're gonna do this inda stuff than in 20 years if hollywood is still alive and still as evil as they are today i want my goddamn live action, 3D, edgy Danny phantom movie.
-

Am I the only one that is looking forward to this movie? With very low expectations, but still wanna see it.

sony why do you cut me like this
Just saw this, why NYC?
Have to be a village in french (?) middle ages ….
Love Hollywood for destroying childhood memories.

I'm actually feeling better about the Smurf movie than this.

Dan Aykroyd really let himself go. o_o

There's a bright side.
Hollywood can only sink lower from here on out.

I await the inevitable Secret Squirrel movie.

I am ashamed to be of the same species as the idiots behind this movie.
Yogi sounds absolutely awful and the crotch whackings were pathetic.
The only thing I can say for them, is at least Boo Boo sounds as he should. -

Step down from Ghostbusters doesn't begin to describe it.
-
-
This actually looks alright. Boo Boo sounds great. I guess all the people who
complained when they saw Justin Timberlake's name were proved wrong. -
Dan Aykroyd really let himself go. o_o
It's called aging :P Something most of Hollywood hopeless tries to combat with plastic surgery, make-up and digital editing.
There's a bright side.
Hollywood can only sink lower from here on out.
How is that a bright side?
-

-
The zombie invasion continues.
-
The CG looks awful. They feel so fake in the trailer.
Fuck this. -
"This christmas…"
"He'll haunt yours dreams!"Though it doesn't look that bad. Maybe a weird kind of bad, but not the bad that all cartoons movies are doomed to be.
-
We have a trailer now…

My God. Nothing! Not a thing in that trailer made me laugh.
And Anna Faris….what are you doing? You're funnier than this! What the crap!
Also, why do they always take the human characters (in this case, Ranger Smith) and make them be played by an actor who looks and sounds NOTHING like the original.
One thing I will say that's pretty good......Justin Timberlake isn't a bad Boo-Boo. I surprisingly couldn't tell it was him.
Also, is that Ryan Reynolds with a beard next to Roger Smith in the trailer?
-
My God. Nothing! Not a thing in that trailer made me laugh.
And Anna Faris….what are you doing? You're funnier than this!
Really? cause after all four Scary Movie films it's hard to notice.
-
For some reason I imagine this movie won't exactly be higher in terms of quality than the Scary Movie films.
-
Really? cause after all four Scary Movie films it's hard to notice.
At least the Scary Movie films ATTEMPT to be funny.
This is just a cry for help.
And Anna Faris is wonderful.
-
For some reason I imagine this movie won't exactly be higher in terms of quality than the Scary Movie films.
They should just rename it Scary Movie 5. 'Cuz this trailer sure scared the hell out of me!
-
Looking at the character design, they could have saved a lot of money by having a guy in a suit play Yogi and still come out pretty much the same when special effects are concerned.
-
Yogi sounds absolutely awful and the crotch whackings were pathetic.
I don't agree…it sounds like an SNL player imitating Yogi for a skit, which is not only true to life but is a good way to approach this movie. It's making fun of a dumb cartoon in an equally dumb way.
It's called aging :P Something most of Hollywood hopeless tries to combat with plastic surgery, make-up and digital editing.
I mean he got fat, not old.
How is that a bright side?
It's less dim, at least.
-
I mean he got fat, not old.
He's been fat for quite a while…
It's less dim, at least.
Hollywood can only sink lower from here on out.
Maybe you meant to say something else, I am trying to figure out how Hollywood continuing to sink lower is a good thing.
-
The movie poster is pretty suggestive.
Boo Boo: run for your poopers.
-
Theres some bad subtext there.
Or actual text as the case may be.

That's just… wrong... as if the idea of this movie wasn't already...
-
Oh my god, a Yogi Bear movie? It's not possible!
-
Yogi: You got a really pretty mouth, Boo-boo.
Boo-boo: Yogi what are you…
Yogi: I'm-a gonna make you squeaaaaaaal like a park ranger!
Boo-boo: Yogi no!... I am sorry.
