Yeah as someone stated above, it's Oda trying not to show their powers until later into the story (seeing as this is the halfway point).
But, I also believe that Beckmans threat was empty in the first place, and Kizaru took it as a joke as well. Beckman was just trying to do what his captain was doing: keeping it peaceful and finding a diplomatic way out. I would have loved to see Beckman follow through though, but we can just wait for a better situation for one of the smartest characters in the OP world.

The four most powerful pirate crews in the world will most certainly also have the four most powerful captains in the world. At least, that is how One Piece has been up until now, and you have provided nothing to indicate otherwise.

I think you are refering to Whitebeard or Garp there? The Databooks hasn't (to my knowledge) mentioned Shanks strength. Neither has there been any mention of any rivalry between Shanks and Mihawk , just that they used to duel many years past (that is a logical assumption though, one which I agree with).

I expect Mihawk to have gotten stronger, of course, and I do think Mihawk is the strongest Shichibukai and the one closest to the Yonkou in strength among them.

Blackbeard is not static, his fighting strength evolve as the series go on (just as our Straw Hats), he most certainly got stronger in this War.
And I don't think Blackbeard is the last villain (nor that Mihawk is Zoro's), I think the WG is, but I think Blackbeard and his crew (Shiryuu for Zoro) will be the last rival/villain before Luffy becomes Pirate King.

We got a good indication of the Straw Hats respective fighting strength when they squared of against CP9 that says otherwise. Luffy defeated Lucci who had 4000 Douriki while Zoro defeated Kaku who had 2200. I do not think their difference in strength is that big, but I think Luffy is the strongest Straw Hat.

Because of his brother dying Luffy become emo and goes off on his own and forms his own crew, he will then be called the Hawk Pirates. He will then vow revenge against the WG and do all he can to destroy them.

the strawhats then spend all their efforts trying their best to bring luffy back from the darkness and be back friends with them. yea that sounds awesome, though a bit familiar, not sure where i ahve heard that before

I hope next arc won't feel as rushed as this one, what with no big one-on-one battles, running through everything as fast as possible (Impel Down never felt complete imo), lots of plot holes (Mr.3 on platform? Everybody just watching when they can do stuff? Kizaru's aim?). Perhaps there were just to many characters for Oda to handle, but I think this arc failed a bit in terms of a "solid" plot and pace.

To be fair, when you're in a war or running away from prison, it is a bit hard to have a one-on-one fight. Especially in these arcs where the enemies have easily outclassed Luffy.

I feel a storm coming but we've seen shanks in basically all the openings ince the begginng and especially around those 3 other people mainly which are all gunners and maybe special in other areas. We all know Oda makes importance of a character in an opening and makes a later reference to them such as Black beard, Tashigi, and Smoker. We now see tashigi and Smoker coming in to play but after luffy leaves Oda will leave no detail about the war until they (Mugiwaras) reach a tv station or get a newspaper of some sort IF the WG decides to put a horrible loss in a newspaper XD so if there are any predictions on Shanks or whatever then shoot.

Ben wasn't bluffing through. Kizaru wouldn't let a major threat like Luffy go without taking a shot. If you look at the previous pages kizaru was charging the beam. Kizaru knew he could hurt him or he would of shot luffy anyways. Oda just doesn't want to reveal their powers at this point IMO.

Luffy always fights the captains through. Luffy and Zoro fought to a draw before and noting shown has made me think otherwise. Zoro took his own damage and Luffy's and was still standing.

This is imo by the worst chapter in the whole war arc. Super anticlimatic ending.
After Ace died i thought ok Whitebeard is gonna sacrifice himself so everyone else can get safely out in the next 1-2 chapters and that's it and imo this would have been a good ending. But instead of ending like that Blackbeard and crew appeared out of the blue and kill WB before his crew can escape. Then i thought ok next chapter Sengoku and the marines will now fully focus on BB and the WB crew can escape but that didn't happen either. Then we had Sengoku saying that they won't let the impel down level 6 escapes loose on the world ever again and that they have to catch them now at all cost. Also BB talking about his age and that he will kill Sengoku and Garp and sink Marineford.
Guess what? Shanks appears and Sengoku let the level 6 escapes loose on the world anyway and BB just gives up trying to kill Garp & Sengoku and sink Marineford and everyone just walks off. So what is this suppossed to tell us? Blackbeard had no problem facing the strongest man in the world Whitebeard plus his crew and legendary marine hero Garp and fleet admiral Sengoku but Shanks appears and he just walks off laughing?So it's Shanks>>>>>>>>> Whitebeard & WBs crew & Garp & Sengoku & marines?

Exactly. The ending makes little sense. It should have ended like this: The three admiral chases after Luffy as Law tries to escape with him. But Shank and his crew shows up and stops them. There is a spread of the Red Hair Pirates. The Admirals then proceed to exchange blows against the Red Hair pirates. But suddenly there is a mega earthquake and the entire island is crumbling as Blackbeard succeeds in destroying Marinefold. Everyone realize the situation has become too dangerous and they all start heading to their ships to evacuate or else they will sink into the ocean. Blackbeard laughs as he fleed with his new crew. Sengoku is pissed and vows to get blackbeard. Shanks helps the whitebeard pirates get out safely. That should be the end of the war.

First Shanks Says if he had given him, his hat back he wouldn't be acknowledging he isn't a respected pirate yet and giving him hate back. While looking at him because he didn't want to look at him in that state. I Took a good look at the bottom left hand corner. So did it make any one of you think back to the time Ivan Screamed quite crazily you will DIE if you take any more damage. And the fact that he took the same fire fist threw the chest he took one that gouged out hit chest earlier. Luffy is dead. Will law bring him back alive who knows. But the fact of the matter is right now luffy is dead. I wonder why they split up on the archipelago in the first place. Maybe if they stuck together and chilled with, Old silver beared when they knew new an admiral where after them only one, and he could have easly shut Kizaru down. Even His grandpa thought he was going to get involved. Then they left and didn't follow him around. Imagine that one decision got their captain killed some would say. But hey law mifght switch the damage right there you see. On the bottom right hand corner you see him standing in front of Luffy and he had his hand on something. I can't really make out what hes garbing. and it looks like theirs a guy standing in the back ground.
That could be a body in the ground.
Maybe if he let the old man go in with his crew instead of his half dead ass. Teach is what messed everything up. WhiteBeard could have lived chilling. Who knows whos at fault, but the fact is Luffy is dead.

I just got my chance to read the chapter, and I wasn't disappointed. Shanks certainly has a wonderful ability to calm people down. He just waltzed in and ended the whole thing. How amazing is that guy? A perfectly fitting end. And now we have to wait. At least it isn't as bad as the break after chapter 500…
