FYI: Marco's phoenix powers and Iva's ability to work miracles has already been established, ergo no deus ex machina.
Its not a miracle if its not impossible!
Kind of like how Scotty always exagerated how long it would take to fix the Enterprise by like, 4 times the actual ammount needed. Only way to establish such a reputation.

I really don't think Ace is coming back to life. But if he does, there are definitely established reasons for it to happen.

And why so much hate towards Gold D. Roger? Most of the pirates respected him, even WB. And Rayleigh doesn't seem like someone who would follow a bloodthristy killer. And even more, Roger was researching the ancient weapons to keep them out of the Gobermment hands (he did not use them as far as we now).
This is the mayor flaw I see in Ace character, he only hated his father because he died before him and because the villagers were badmouthing him? That's a bit dull.

When the anime gets to this scene, they'll no doubt censor it like crazy. 20 years ago Dragonball had massive bloody gaping wounds through Goku's chest… and now in Kai it doesn't. Given that its pretty much EXACTLY the same thing, I have to assume that standard will apply.

In the next chapter Luffy will send Akainu flying!! A true kick ass, with right to a giant haki outburst, right before Luffy's strenght ends, and then he will faint due to everything he is gone through in the last 24 hours.

I have a feeling Ace will somehow end up alive at the end of this. Whitebeard alive in the new era while Ace is dead is awkward, and I can't see him dying now that Ace is dead. Its all a bit awkward I think.. plus we got more incomplete info on Luffy and Ace's past that wouldn't make much sense putting out there without Ace living on.
Also, I can't see Luffy moving on through the grandline with such a heavy grudge against Akainu. The way Akainu killed Ace was just cruel, its not something you get over or forgive. So unless Akainu dies sometime soon, Luffy would carry on hating him.
If Ace is really dead, then thats the most depressing death.. I mean he finally figured out it was ok for him to have been born only to die moments later.. thats just sad. Oda always focuses on his characters dreams, and I'm sorry but just wanting to find out if you should have been born in the first place is the saddest one you could have.

If the whitebeard pirates survive the war (save whitebeard and ace). What future can they have in the series? I cant see their future?
What is the purpose of introducing so many division commanders and not having any role for them? Probably to make Whitebeard look more commanding with all these strong underlings. But what have they shown? Not a lot.
If they survive the war I can see them used to make certain enemies look stronger. (blackbeard and possible new enemies in the new world). But I would love it the most if oda could make the rest of the whitebeard pirates and allies the enemies of the straw hats. But I dont see a way to pull that off.

Well even if this is the most touching chapter ever and I feel very sad for Ace, a guy who only became 20 years old… I have to say I'm looking even more forward to next week... We has some much optiones to happen and I want to destroy the last doubt I have with the Ace = death or not...
We could have a simple fading away and Luffy wakin up somewhere and it will be told how the war ended... We can have im go apeshit super haki style or we can have WB going on a final rampage and maybe with a flashback as well...
We know nothing about his relationship to Roger... and even more question-marks what will happen to the WB crew or the other characters like Croc, Iva and Co...
i really hope for an super fast sunday spoiler... please hear my wishes apprentiche

But really… I can see the Iva or Marco reviving things happening, but it'd be so terrible if it did. I don't want to see Oda ruin his manga by pulling out of what he's done now, despite the fact he's done similar in the past, it's never been on this scale. He's never given so many indicators that someone was in fact dead. If the vivre card magically comes back, I swear... -

It COULD be used as a way to get Luffy to gain a closure over this, just a thought...
