A complaint about poor character portrayal isn't the same a complaint about event portrayal. This situation now doesn't compare to Hancock's love sickness at all. It does compare though to Kuma's appearance at Thriller Bark where the complaints were exactly the same. And the people did change their minds in the end when they saw the bigger picture. Same will happen here. Just wait and see.

Uh… I don't usually post here but I thought I'd do a bit of translating since no one else was. I only did about 1/4 of it, but I figure a full translation should be out soon. I kinda only glanced at the raws, so I'm not entirely sure where some of the sentences were going. Anyways, my Japanese isn't that great but it's much better than Google :getlost:

btw is sadi yelling because the beasts were defeated or she is having an orgasm from the pain inflicted on the beasts? watch sadi join the break out crew so she can continue experiencing painful situations.
also if jimbei is that much stronger in the water will he end up pulling the boat luffy and his breakout crew are gonna be in? they might not be able to use the gates but if they have somebody really strong and fast as jimbei pulling the boat then they may get there maybe not as fast as with the current but still quick. maybe it will take them 2,3 or 4 hours to get there with jimbei pulling them? since ace has 5 hours till his execution i would prefer it take them about 4 hours to get there so it can be more suspenseful once they arrive. maybe the route they will end up taking will look like this?
maybe jimbei will use his extreme power under water to pull the ship through the spiral current? although they might end up going through the gate and maybe we might even see jimbei catch up the marine escort ships and then luffy and his crew fighting with the vice admirals and taking ace with them.

Absolutely redonkulous chapter.
You think the arc is already filled with insane charactters, and a whole new party joins the fray.
Impel Down Forces, Team Luffy, Team Shriyuu (I expect him to bring out hot shots from Level 6 to aid him), and now team BB. Though Impel Down forces took a big hit losing the beasts.

If his sole reason is to recruit Shiryuu, this guy must be nothing less than a bad-ass mofo in the Odaverse :P Otherwise, it's a BIG stretch to imagine BB would, right at the same time with Luffy's totally unexpected invasion (and even harder to guess Luffy is actually achieving the prison break nobody has ever done, except for Gold Lion Shiki), take his chances to attack Impel Down and jeopardize whatever his plans are.
Isn't it more logical to assume that, rather than jeopardizing his plans, whatever Blackbeard is up to now is in fact exactly what his plan was all along, or at least part of it?

Why would the WG propose the title to someone who invaded Enies Lobby, declared war on them, defeated two of their best assassins, escaped the Buster Call which destroyed EL, punched one of the Tenryuubito and is right now invading Impel Down, creating a mass prisoner riot? It's like "Hey, you cut off my leg, you punched my son, you destroyed my property, … but let's be friends, 'kay?" Makes absolutely no sense to me.

edit: after reading greg's jump festa from last year oda stated that impel down will be at least a year, this is unsure whether it includes the war or not. if the one year is only impel down then the war will be god knows how long. if it does well i think it might be a bit rushed if thats the case.

It was said a lot before but I also think BB goal is to add Level 6 prisioners to his crew.
Blackbeard's gang was always displayed as some kind of nemesis to the mugiwaras,and they need to be in equal numbers for the fight to come.
The thing would be something like this (sorry,too lazy to search all the names)

-Laffite VS Robin (that creepy and slick guy seems clever and the perfect match against Robin)

I don't think this is the end yet. Rather the half point marker. This war will end the Grand Line arc and as such make room for a fresh start in the New World. The Supernovas will probably have their role there and Oda just introduced them now so the New World won't feel like a whole new series.
And then, in the New World, an even greater final battle will be built up for from the start, just like it's been in the Grand Line. That's what I think.

I regret not noticing this earlier. Back in the spoiler topic when everyone was talking about how it seemed "impossible for Blackbeard to get to Impel Down in such a short time," yet all this time there was a logical explaination.
That is Laffite, the man who in his first appearance sneaked into the marine holy land (who's name I forget how to spell right now). It seems so obvious in hindsight, if that guy could infiltrate the greatest marine base, then Impel Down doesn't seem like such a big deal–it's just this time he brought the whole crew with him. And those big wings, just seem to emphasize the whole thing. They explain so much about this guy.
So yeah, Blackbeard's crew is looking pretty amazing right now. Also, I kind of doubt Blackbeard is looking to recruit Shiryuu. Taking a former pirate seems more likely.

it would appear so, that is how i took it. a marine battleship left for impel down with no authorization and a shichibukai seems to be coincidentally missing at same time.
kind of just putting two and two together. wonder why Oda though decided to show laffitte's wings though in that panel. Was there a reason, or just wanting to show his badass crew and finally pop some wings on em so we know something more about him. and we finally learn how he was able to sneak into the meeting without being heard while having tap shoes on.
Kind of looses its badassness though, he played a trick by making them think he is just so amazing that he snuck in with those shoes and no one heard him, yet he actually just flew. But he traded that badassness for the badassness of having a flying fruit.
