RE: Chapter 0 "Strong World" Discussion
Slightly off topic but has anyone noticed that Mugiwara crew members were brought up(or related) by people who had great history except Zoro!! Isnt it fishy??
1.Luffy-Shanks, Dadan, Garp
2.Sanji-Zeff
3.Franky-Tom
4.Chopper-Kureha,Hiluluk
5.Robin-Clover
6.Brooke-He is old so lets leave him
7.Nami-Bellemere
8.Usopp-Yasopp (he left when he was young, but you know what I mean)All of them were shown to be badass in their peak time. But what about Zoro?
9.Zoro-Koshiro (whose history isnt known at all)
I seriously doubt if Koshiro is a normal guy. I wouldn be surprised if Oda suddenly links him to a great swordsman. So the point is who could that "Link" guy be if what I am saying is even remotely right!!
If you look at Koshiro's dress, there is a symbol of "two swords crossing each other" which is shown a number of times in the manga. Could that reveal something about his history?? To me, it reminds me of a "Jolly Roger" without a skull!!
What do you think guys??
I don't consider bellemere as a character with great history, but except for that i totally agree.
Also i think that there are at least 2 hints about koshiro not being an ordinary swordsman.First, he's the one with the who originally owned the legendary sword that now zoro has
second he can cut metal, which seems to be something like a myth among ordinary people.also he seems to be very wise and thoughtful, which is a rare characteristic for oda's characters, even for the important ones.

RE: 2012
That's right. I'm sure you've been expecting some idiot to make this thread sooner or later, preaching the dooms and dangers that will befall us in 2012.
It's so popular they even made a movie out of it.
Apparently, the Mayan's calendar ends in 2012, and archaeologists and researchers and other men with long beards has all said they've found the number 2012 here, there and over there. I even bet with my friend £50 that the world won't end in 2012 (win-win for me).
I think, according to the film that the world will end in 21st December 2012, I'll be pissed as it would mean I would miss CHRISTMAS!
And an personal favourite, for some laughs.
i don't know, but somehow i got the feeling that you just find out about it, because of the movie and that you made up that friend. Nobody's that retarded and if so, you would have forgotten it until then.
btw, i always thought it was the 12.12 2012. but wikipedia says 21.12.1012 -
RE: Drug Experiences
@ smudge: i really doubt everything you said, so if you want to proof it, you can either give us your name, which we could surely find on the internet if you're a that important man, or you could post a pic somewhere with your A8 or in front of your house or something like that…interested?
Also how do you have the time, posting that much?

RE: Next Crew Member Speculation (Ver 3.0)
Jimbei will join Strawhat sooner or later. It is inevitable. However, he is just too powerful right now. To balance things out, every strawhat member should get a significant powerup on the places where Kuma sent them. Luffy learning monster Haki, Zoro getting an mythical beast zoan devil fruit, and Sanji getting a Logia devil fruit of some sort. And yes, I parallelized them from Whitebeard's crew. And yes, I am too optimistic on Jimbei joining Strawhat.. Who would not want someone who can OHKO a fellow shichibukai to be on their crew.. He would make an excellent helmsman (and also lifeguard to those devil fruit users).
you really mean it, right?

RE: Chapter 560 "The Prisoners of Impel Down" Discussion
@-wahn-:
I'm sure WB had fought a lot of strong guy back in his era to this day. That's where his reputation came from. Luffy is on an adventure for how long now? How many pirates he fought through his adventure? Luffy is destined to be the pirate king (since he is the main character), and unless Oda used any time skip in his series, I can't see how a 17 year old rookies (only traveled once through GL) will be look as the STRONGEST GUY ever.
Where do you get Japanese "fighting" comic from? Unless you mean Shonen, then how many Shonen have you read thus far? Shonen doesn't equal fighting though. There are psychological Shonen, adventure Shonen, slice of life Shonen, harem Shonen, and the list goes on.
Look, I'm not saying Luffy won't be the strongest, but my stand point about Luffy being the strongest are different from others stand point that based it on fighting and beating strong guys. I'm basing on Luffy will be the Pirate King by the end of the series NOT Luffy will be the STRONGEST GUY EVER by the end of this series. There's a different there. He can proved he is the strongest AFTER he becomes the Pirate King because we know other pirates will go after his title. However, I doubt Oda will drag us for another 10 years showing Luffy defending his title just to proved him as the STRONGEST guy ever. So anything beyond that is open interpretation.
Mihawk himself said that if luffy wants to become Pk he has to be stronger then even himself. I think that implies that to achieve his goal he has to prove himself as the strongest. And if i recall correct, than roger travelled the Gl just once, too, so i don't see much of a difference except him being a bit older than luffy is. Also one piece wouldn't be that attractive if you see a 40 year old man going out as a pirate for adventure, because someone gave him a hat.
also i wrote Japanese "fighting" comic because i don't mean shonen and i'm well aware that there a different kinds. Why should i have written fighting in quotation marks than? I said japanese comic (i know it's called manga by the way) because there's more than shonen (e.g. seinen). Also i added "at least it plays a big part in it" in brackets, because i didn't wanted you to disagree that it's just about fighting.
Edit: If Wb wants to be current strongest man in one piece he should have fought the strong guys in the current era, too and not just in his own. That would include mihawk and for all we know mihawk never fought Wb, that's why he wanted to see the difference in strength between them with his first attack.

RE: Chapter 560 "The Prisoners of Impel Down" Discussion

Maybe I misinterpret Luffy response to Rayleigh, but can anyone tell me what he meant when Rayleigh asked
"The Grand Line is just going to keep on, surpassing your wildest imagination!! And the enemies will be strong. Can you really conquer this ultimate ocean?"
Luffy response with
"I don't want to conquer anything. I just think the guy that has the most freedom in this whole ocean - is the Pirate King!!"
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/507/09/I read that one as Luffy wouldn't go after strong guys, he is enjoying his adventure and going after One Piece. I know in order to do so, he have to face a lot of people that going after the same thing, but how many people he needs to beat in order to becomes the "strongest"? We have too many strong people in this series and I doubt Luffy will beat them all. If he didn't beat them all, how can he being declared as the strongest then?
I do agree he will be the strongest by the end of this series, but that only because he acclaimed the title Pirate King. Not because he physically beat every strong guy in this series. Beating every strong guys in this series sounds illogical IMO (especially since you get Marco and Joz in WB's side, and you know for sure Luffy isn't going to fight them).
I don't follow the concept or the logic of in order for Luffy to becomes the Pirate King, he must becomes the strongest person in One Piece. Oda already stated that to becomes the Pirate King, the person need to find One Piece. I'm sure being the strongest person isn't the only key to get to One Piece. There's probably more to that (ie; carried Will of D, able to read Ponelgyph etc) in order to get to One Piece. Maybe that's what other strong pirates are lacking.
This is adventure Shonen. People read this manga as if they are reading fighting Shonen. Don't confused the two. Sure, they resolved things with fight, but not everything is resolved with fights (there's been several circumstances where Luffy choose not to fight).
so do you think WB fought every single guy in one piece?
He's not the Pk, so his title doesn't have anything to do with it, right?
and don't make the argument that he fought equally with Roger, because after your logic beating the strongest person don't make you the strongest. No, you have to beat every single person in the world to be the strongest…Note: it's a japanese "fighting" comic (at least fighting plays a big part in it) and not the real world, where you don't necessary have to be stronger than someone if you beat him.
