why…....
That's not a good idea.

I forgot how JF works. I thought for sure you were going to say like winter 2021. I personally think things will be ok by then but still…
Hey what Oda tidbits did we get last go 'round?

Hey what Oda tidbits did we get last go 'round?
But, well… As for the source material, I don’t think I’ll have any time to rest myself. In fact, I’ve already destroyed all my own chances at a break! Are you enjoying the adventures of Kouzuki Oden so far?I’ve been worried about revealing spoilers in this arc, so I’ve been super careful drawing it. If I don’t keep myself in check, I’ll end up plotting out the entire rest of One Piece’s story right there. [Note: He probably means spoiling so much, that everybody is gonna be able to guess the ending.]
While I’m showing all these flashbacks, Luffy’s party’s adventures are having their stakes risen as well. They’ll soon be faced with the reality that you have to bring sacrifices to fight for the things you believe in!! Well, of course, Luffy is not the sort of person to think about those sorts of things though.
The Wano Kuni arc is finally moving towards its climax as well!! I’ve been looking forwards to drawing Wano Kuni a lot, so I’m psyched! And once it’s over, things are going to be grim. Sabo will…!! Vivi will…!! Hancock will…!! AAAAAAAA…!!!
OK. Last but not least, the exhibition you all came here for is just about to begin! Please take a close look at everything!! The next year of One Piece will also be SO, SO MUCH FUN!!
-December 2019, Eiichiro Oda….......................
-
Oh yeah! Thank you!
Sacrifices huh? I'm expecting some deaths when this is all said and done. No Straw Hat of course but some honest to goodness named and important characters on both the good and and side.
-
I have a feeling Luffy will regret not having that drink with Jinbe..
-
Well Kaido has to die right, thats his whole gig.
I guess HYogoro will die, some of the scabbards… Inu and Neko will not die, that panel of Pedro pleading for their life to sanji saying they are waiting for the dawn of the world.
Maybe Kinemon? That will be impactful, Kanjuro, Raizo?
but if he wants to top marine ford means some one big must go, maybe Law? That will be intense, plus his purpose in the story is over really.
I have a feeling Luffy will regret not having that drink with Jinbe..
Jimbei is one character that for sure will not go as he represent the fisherman and there is the whole subplot of the equalisation of the different races.

It is dont worry ^^
Having an event where hundreds of thousands will be crowded in a small space is the stupidest thing to do this year. And even good part of next year.

Exactly. Especially since the 2nd wave might hit us all at the end of the year, during winter and the regular flu season.

COVID19 seems to mutate slower than the flu so there might be a gap later in the year when hosting a big event is safe.
-
I live in New York. The numbers don't reflect what's really going on. They are not accounting for those who died, but weren't tested. Even though people are being tested posthumously. The people who are dying because they don't have Corona, but can't be attended to.
The same people who didn't have enough discipline to want to pause things to stop the spread are also in a rush to go back out and increase the deaths. It's not about how many have to die, it's about who is dying. Some people need those they care about or public figures to be affected before they take this seriously. There are idiots who get on tv and say that maybe 3 million deaths is worth opening things back up.

The only time when a big event like this is safe, is when we have a reliable cure that is affordable to everyone.

I'm also in New York, haven't felt safe for a while and am expecting the shutdown to last in some form through September.
We're talking about December though, and in Japan, a country not hit nearly as hard as the US, and one that has handled the crisis better in almost every way.
It could be safe by then (in Japan). -
If they can't celebrate it, I'm sure they'll announce everything they were planning to announce online regardless, so I don't think it'll be very different for us at least_._

It could be safe by then (in Japan). The Winter is reported to contain a "second wave" of this virus. It's come down to using common sense and critical thinking because it's hard to trust reports and even the statistics available. Holding an event where people from multiple countries come in isn't smart at all.
The first news was from a whistleblower. That is a fact that many are overlooking. I want to get back to "normal" or whatever is safe, but I don't think any event where people gather in mass is safe for the rest of the year. All it takes is 1 person traveling without showing symptoms to spread it throughout a country.

I also think that things are about to get a whole lot worse when autumn comes around.

It will be live stream .. it is confirmed .
-
Live stream for paying costumers, Japanese, “everyone” ( as in they don't translate but also don’t region lock) or everyone (subtitles!)

I'm not sure if Jump Festa 2021 will be online, but new Shonen Jump announced Jump Special Anime Festa 2020 will be online.

Oda tidbits
Funnily, it's september already and I don't feel like we've seen any of what he mentions (except the conclusion of Oden's flashback, of course). Typical Oda schedule .
Admittedly, the climax and sacrifices part may not be that far down the road, with chapter 1000 looming close and fights picking up the pace. The latter part, about grim things, got me thinking. Isn't that what the final war is going to be after all? Several of Luffy's friends hurt or captured or sentenced to death or worse, their countries/factions vulnerable but willing to take up arms to defend them. By that time the Straw Hats may (or not) have reached Laugh Tale and decide to make their stand against the WG. Ace arc all over again, except this time it's not Luffy alone but all of the allied fleet and multiple countries of the world who were at one point or another indebted to Luffy & co. It's being set up right under our noses.
-
Does Kanjuro count as a sacrifice ?
-
Counts as a grim and sad event.
-

It's too bad, but I can kinda understand where they're coming from; they need to reserve bandwidth for attendees who speak Japanese and will get the most out of the presentations. Most others who sign up will just be there for the novelty of it.

True, but bandwidth steaming issues can be easily fixed with Akamai or similar services, they can delay it for a few seconds to provide subtitles(auto generated from translations services not accurate but should get the general meaning across) or Voice over for English and/or other major languages if there is a demand. But I guess we're not a target audience for them to go that far. With all the simulcasts and up to date releases you'd think they'd go a little more global.. but nope.. I blame VIZ and the others for not taking advantage of this, they wasted a good chance for free publicity and extra earnings

This is really all it matters.

I just want to see Blackbeard show why he is a Yonkou sometime soon. It can be in one of those between-Act chapters.

It would kill the momentum of the war if we suddenly shift to blackbeard in the middle of it.
I hope Oda doesn't cut away, not until Kaido is put down.
