RE: Chapter 1090: Kizaru
Perfect mix of humor, violence, and wholesomeness. This is what OP is about. Not Sabo, Garp, and Shanks for 8 chapters.

RE: Season 1 General Discussion
A couple segments from Variety
“We’ve got scripts ready,” Marty Adelstein, CEO of Tomorrow Studios, which produces the live-action “One Piece” in partnership with manga creator Eiichiro Oda and publisher Shueisha, told Variety Thursday.
“Realistically, hopefully, a year away, if we move very quickly, and that is a possibility,” Clements said. “Somewhere between a year and 18 months, we could be ready for air.”
“They keep it, as you know, close to the vest until post-launch,” Clements said. “But with Netflix’s support of the title, we expected it to be number one and we sensed their research and algorithms probably saw the possibility for that. But in our subsequent calls post-launch, we have been told that we have exceeded expectations, which is also fantastic.”
Netflix did not respond to request for comment on status of a “One Piece” Season 2 renewal.
The win is a big one for Tomorrow Studios, which suffered a less than successful launch of its live-action adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop” for Netflix, with that series being canceled less than a month after it premiered in 2021. The execs expect a better fate for “One Piece.”
“I think [Netflix is] looking at various situations about how many episodes they do, do they break them up?” Adelstein said. “I think they’re trying to figure that out this week. I suspect we’ll hear from them in the next week to two weeks. There seems to be a big impetus to keep this going and to come up with a long-term strategy. So we’re just waiting for that.”

RE: The ways Orochi's existence wrecks the manga. (SPOILERS)
Orochi was 1 of the GOATs of the arc.
Not his fault Kaido took so much time to become a decent character.
Spandem is a better character than Lucci, but i'm not gonna blame him for Oda's inability to make Lucci more likeable.

RE: Chapter 1090: Kizaru
I don't remember Sanji fighting to liberate the Germa Clones. He was just disgusted by it. I don't see the point of showing any of the crew's displeasure of Seraphim or any Pacifista yet if they aren't going to actively stop big bad VP.

RE: Chapter 1107: I've Been Looking For You!!
@Razh I don't see any reason to do more than what Oda did in Wano for Zoro. I was waiting to see if this was his arc in some way because of a 1 dimensional reason of being a swordsman.
To find out his family has more immediate importance after they left and established his village just makes it more of a point that Shimotsuki Village is more of homeland than Wano was.
Wano is just another piece to the puzzle of his lessons. It does not beat Shimotsuki out for his homeland. Try convincing Luffy that this Nika stuff is more important than what he experienced growing up under Dadan with Ace/Sabo.
Even for Sanji in WCI arc, his principles and values from Zeff are more priority than his blood kin. Most of the things driving him and resolutions were based on what he got from the Baratie and the split page of Zeff and him ended the arc.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 10 - Egghead)
Zoro is a weirdo gatekeeper. Could have kept it to "you helped our captain, thanks". Instead, he had to add "get off now". One day, there will be a discussion about his manners. Just a nasty individual. Some fans think it's cute to be mean like that.
Caribou is an honored guest. He survived attacks from Drake and Pekoms. Let him enjoy some Sunny time.

RE: The "Moon" arc?
My speculation centering a possible detour has that element. VP said that Vega Force could take them in a certain direction. He then learned that the Sunny could blast off, I felt that plan was meant to not only not work, but to exceed his expectations. I think the crew will be believed to have died in some kind of explosion, but really blast off in a ridiculous way to the Moon.
The explosion being a callback to not only the Nightmare of Baldimore, but the Sabaody separation where the world didn't know what truly happen to them. I don't even think the crew purposely do all of this. Some of it happens by chance.
Many things work against this possibility. Like how does Oda convince the Gorosei of all characters, that this happened?

RE: Chapter 1110: Starfall
Its like a virus. WG are victims and this thing haunts them. Endangers their position. I see why I like Teach and Sasuke. They are the real MCs that are here to end this mess of a cycle.

RE: Chapter 1110: Starfall
All that power, what are you afraid of? The CDs were the ones that left another family behind and gentrified Mary Geoise. What are you trying so hard to prevent? Why did Clover have to die, just because a name? Is something suppose to click to even some randoms in East Blue once they hear the name.
Just imagine if the Gorosei are successful in cutting off the message in time. Right now, it feels like the world will most likely get it, but when someone in the spoilers mentioned a possible retreat - I thought of Imu and VP. If I tried to think of something outside of those 2, it had to be the death of the crew who are the root of many troubles. Believing the crew is done for is another possibility.

RE: Chapter 1110: Starfall
I think Dorry and Brogy made a mistake with Peter being a worm. You cut it and probably have more to deal with.
As usual, I was off.
Saturn - 5
Peter and Mars - either 3 or 4
Justice Godhead Warcury - 2
Baldy - 1I am still open to the idea of Holy Knights being a stepping stone for the crew to possibly face the Gorosei again 1 day, but for now I think the Gorosei are the lesser entity in importance.

RE: The Great New World Discussion Thread
So, Oda has sent Garp at Aokiji. I think there is more for Aokiji on the personal level. Then he has another longtime known character - VP, for Kizaru. What does he do for Akainu?
I was just thinking of Kong, then my mind went to this hierarchy. If you have a Fleet Admiral, what is the point of a CiC? Fleet Commander oversees the Marines, so the CiC supervises what that is outside of that scope? Cipher Pol? SSG falls under Marines or WG as a whole? CiC is for the WG as a whole, so what else is under the WG that isn't Marine related.
That leads me to the Royals. They each had their own security at the Levely. Garp illustrated that larger entities (superpowers) use the smaller countries to go at it on their behalf. Simply influencing them on their behalf. As of right now, the audience are led to believe the Royals and their forces are possibly just as good as we've seen or less s far as being formidable. Yet a nation like Elbaf that is unaffiliated can interest a Yonko like BM so much that she believes their force can advance her past the other Yonko.
Those countries introduced at the Reverie may have some that rival the Admirals. I believe that may be the next phase to couple with the Underworld and Science aspects Oda has been making immediate. I think of Gastino's broadcast with some of those figures in the dark, Reverie guards, Brook's backstory before being a pirate, possibly Laffitte's backstory, mastermind behind the drunken iron ore, the empty throne, why Oda would care enough to tell me which nation's ships Vivi/Sabo/Bonney escaped on, and more that will tie into this royal aspect.
It just feels inevitable. This is about pirates, but there is something the Roger Pirates weren't able to do.

RE: Awakenings (Analysis)
In a couple stories, i've seen the writer use this wishing aspect where a character makes it and the wish is granted, but exaggerated. I think there is something wholesome about Oda using this with so much oppression in this story.
I agree with your core take.
To expand on what I believe a Logia Awakening might be, these are my thoughts.
Paramecia grant other things - properties/benefits of their DF. Get to share the wish with anything.
Zoan so far been increased speed, strength, etc. Mythical might include more. When I think of the whole exaggerated wish component, some in these other stories have gotten the "be careful what you wish for" treatment. With that said, can you truly match the beast/creature?
"Elements in nature", so Logia change the climate around them permanently like PH. Close to JJK's domain expansion that gives them multiple advantages inside.

RE: Official Egghead Thread
Before I do my reread of the arc, i'm skimming through it and see 2 connections for Doll. Not only was Saul her superior officer, her naval base housed Mocha and the other Giant kids. That's 2 SH connections.
I remember talking about anti-gravity and VP phasing through Robonosuke.

RE: Chapter 1109: Interception
I spent a good amount of Wano trying to figure out how Oda would get BM and Kaido out of Wano. I did not see them being sepulchered in lava soup. It still fit what I thought was the goal, which was to take those 2 out of the game as real contenders and get their grubby hands off Wano. I just didn't see that specific ending.
On the Gorosei's end, what is the goal? I think its to really embarrass them. I don't see them as enemies that have to be taken down after this arc. Their strength is showcased this arc and other characters do things to show both sides are formidable, but all out defeat for all 5? I don't think so.
This is their 2nd go at it anyway. First, it was hidden against Sabo. Now, they are possibly directly in front of the crew.
lot of this looks like VP vs Gorosei with Luffy vs Kizaru as a more suitable attraction. That kinda resembles Luffy vs Kata, but then how do you deal with BM of this arc??? I see Giant Warriors and Robonosuke, but who else? Seraphim are right there.
I think the most likely to go down this arc are the 9 VAs.
York started a lot of this, even if VP and the WG's relationship wasn't meant to last. She ignited this, so I believe she will have a hand in resolving this.
So in short, key components
- York and her Seraphim
- Giant Captains
- Robonosuke
- SH crew
- VP's tech
