Tanks and grenades are meant to defend us. That doesn't necessarily mean we want to be anywhere near one.

And again, they look like Satan.

I'm just saying, from an aesthetic standpoint, it couldn't be more obvious that they're evil and will more than likely turn against their human masters.

It's the '70s and Terminator hasn't come out yet. Also, the hunt a reviled species, so I doubt the common man cares about what they look like.

Besides, it's a Republican project. They've never cared about potentially looking like supervillains.

WTF !!! They look like Keystone Cops more than the true threat they were!!! They were not pushovers like the cartoon made them! Only realistic scene was Magneto's. Others … gah no way Jubilee would have been able to injure them!! Storm and Cyclops had trouble...even with the lightening and optic beam.

From what I remember, the Sentinels in the comics had shared information between them with computer fast speed, learning from the defeat of another. So one attack that takes down one would be harder to pull off on another.

Saw Wolverine yesterday. Was a step up from the previous one but it's not up to the standard the marvel studios movies set

Does every wolverine film have to be mainly about his inner struggle? There's more to him than having guilt nightmares every five minutes

I know i'll never get it but i'd love to see a Madripor style Logan. The playful, sneaky wolverine that's not just a huge sack of angst

But i did enjoy how they cut a little loose around the end. It's a superhero movie there should be all kinds of zany technology

While it was short and there's obviously more, the bits shown have me really excited for some reason. It looked like they could have been showing at least 2 of the timelines there. I'm really interested to see more on how the timelines will weave in the story. This one seems to destined to be the big movie next summer. Hopeful it will coexist with Marvel's Phase 2 without any of the movies directly competing with each other at the box office.

It's an action series that has a very strong sense of comedy.

Starlord - U.S. pilot who gets caught up in everything. Basically, the person we're supposed to relate to.
Gamora - Adopted daughter of Thanos (main villain that we're anticipating in the Avengers series) but betrayed him. Last of her species. Bad ass as fuck.
Drax the Destroyer - Former human that Thanos transformed, now seeks revenge.
Groot - Tree like alien who has the ability to manipulate plant life. Can bare speak due to the difficulty of moving a mouth made of bark.
Rocket Raccoon - Former guard of an outer space insane asylum, with his best friend (a walrus). Very talkative, very violent, and very, very foul mouthed.

Rumor has it that Vin Diesel might be voicing Groot. Having flashbacks of Iron Giant.

James Gunn mentioned that the trailer he's been showing at Comic-Con and D23 isn't fit for the internet. They've only been filming for a fortnight and that was just something they threw together.

No idea what they'll play it in front of. Captain America I suppose if they do put Cap in front of Thor.

Nonetheless. I am very happy with that slither of footage. I love the Guardians and a lot of the Cosmic stuff. The model they are using for Rocket is phenomenal. I am wondering if they'll go with the Groot who can only say "I am Groot" or if he'll actually talk. Easy paycheck for Diesel if he does get the part.

They've only been filming for a fortnight and they already have that? That's already a really good teaser. Well, except maybe for the "what a bunch of a-holes." Can't really put that in the theaters, not for the kiddies.

lol. Some heroes are more generic than others. Now with their origins out of the way, I'm highly looking forward to Thor and Cap 2.

That being said, Marvel is giving us a Raccoon with a gun, but they haven't given us a female headliner yet either. For all her prominence in the movies, Black Widow still isn't the main heroine. Neither will Scarlet Witch be in Avengers 2. Nor were any of the ladies in X-Men. And I'm not counting that awful Elektra movie.

sigh Maybe Ms. Marvel could get her own movie someday. (yeah right . . . .)

It's Captain Marvel now, and she no longer wears a swimsuit and go-go boots, which makes her chances at a movie a lot higher than they were 2 years ago. Sadly Whedon hates the character (even though it's the best female character the Avengers have).

That's actually Whedon's own complaint about Avengers. He's bothered so many of the characters overlap visually/power wise… part of the reason he's so eager to bring in Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

I'm really curious though if he's going to get cameos or at least hints for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Phase 2 movies though. It's just not Marvel movies not to.

Who is that? The name reminds me of …Jos...Joss..? ...the guy that was behind creating Buffy the Vampire Slayer ... and who said that a lot of his inspiration for her was Kitty Pryde.

That really dumb to compare the two, it's like comparing apples to beef.

Rocket Raccoon is a side charterer and not the main hero, so they don't have to go into a full back story with him. Not only that I bet he doesn't have a back story as weird and as hard to translate and sell to a movie going audience like WW.

Wonder Woman comes with her own set of problems.

She's basically the biggest Female Superhero.

Everything female in the world of capes rests on her success or failure in some ways, that's why if Warner ever try to attempt a Wonder Woman movie.

They CAN"T fuck it up or it will be a disaster.
It also doesn't help that Hollywood track record with female superheros is bad.

Please go reread that post of mine. I was asking"Is this Whedon that was mentioned is same as Joss Whedon" who created Buffy and I referred that he does (or least did) like one female superhero when he mentioned Kitty.

But I didn't say what I wanted to clearly which led to this confusion.
I meant to say he has commented that Kitty was a "Proto-Buffy" in an interview a few years back, giving me the impression that Kitty was one of the inspirations behind Buffy. So I was trying to joke ( and truly fail) that maybe he would prefer Kitty.

On the side… it was personality-wise (and I suspect her fighting ability not powers -when writers decide to use Kitty's and not write her as ... bleargh - really hate those type of writers who don't see or use Kitty's various skills) Joss Whedon was referring to. Yes, Kitty Pryde was indeed a major inspiration for Buffy. And for a lot of his female characters. Read his run on Astonishing X-Men, and you'll see just how much he loves Kitty. Hint: It's the right amount. Extra hint: it's a lot.

How your post read, by the way, was a sarcastic remark about Joss Whedon. It seemed like you found it incredulous that he would be opposed to Ms. Marvel. The use of the ellipses made your question read insincere.

Whedon now has a huge influence and control on the Marvel movie-verse since he's directing the Avengers 2 and 3.
